At what age do you normally start a MFT? I have a 2 yr old (will turn 3 january) stallion and i've never owned a MFT so im not sure. plus hes on the short side so im kinda worried im too heavy (177p). any advise???
@Shawnshawna The growth gap in the knees closes between 20 and 28 months on average. The only way to know for sure is to x-ray the knee. He's probably fine for short rides now. Condition him gradually increasing from 15 - 30 minutes to 4 hours rides by the time he's three. When starting, do the short rides on the softest ground you have to soften joint impact. If he's a keeper develope comm with equine vet for good advice as u progress.
