I got bitten by a Mamba once, didn`t hurt a bit ! lol Great video dude, and wow, what beautiful snakes ! I do tire of seeing muppets with snakes, it`s nice to see someone who obviously knows thier stuff for a change.....
Just a few questions. How potent is the night adders venom? Are they an "easier" venomous snake to take care off just due to the closed mouth strikes and a little bit better of a dimeaner (not sure how that's spelled) than most? They are a beautiful snake. Is their a specific website on their history, care, etc? And could you show them in any upcoming videos? Thanks a lot for taking your time out to respond. Love you videos, i've learned alot!!
hey Mr Viperkeeper, awesome videos, ive just started working with venomous snakes, alot to learn!!!!are there any snakes you wont work with? do you keep any rear fanged? how many hours a day do you have to put into maintanance husbandry?? VERY interesting videos btw
I have a mangrove snake with is a rather HOT rear fang but it's the only one I keep. I spend at least 2-3 hrs per weekday and 8-12 hours on Saturday/Sunday.
This is probably a real dumb ass q's but y do u keep all those venmous snakes knowing that they could kill u. this isnt haitmail im just curious thanks reply
Hey viperkeeper, i dont know alot about snakes but i find your videos fascinating, I have a couple of questions for you if you wouldnt mind answering please, 1st of all why did that snake in the video strike with its mouth closed? also you showed us gabby having her hissy fit because you wouldnt let her out, so do you find that you can build up relationships with snakes you keep long term? will the snake realise that you are its keeper? or will a snake always see you as a predator?
Seriously mate, Lot's of venomous "bluff" because the venom is a valuable resource that they would not like to waste on something they can't possibly eat. It is said that about %30 of real bite are "dry" where no venom is injected at all. Guess that's one level up from a "bluff".
I brought a bunch in over the past few year, sold out in no time flat. Currently not planning to bring in any more. There are enough out there for captive breeding.
Breeding? Jesus christ. You people are insane. What if a pair or a pregnant female gets loose down South? They will be coming to all your homes with a death warrant for every exotic venomous snake and rightly so.
Hey asshole, where have you been all your life? Swinning in the shallow end of the gere pool I reccon :-P They are legal in many southern states including Florida. It people like you that unfortunately were allow to breed.
Al, description says the mamba "owned you", but I didn't see anything indicating any aggression or anything? Did you cut part of the video out or something before you uploaded it?
Thanks for the video, Al! I found it very cool that the Western Greens have a dynamic scale pattern near their belly. It seems that before the tail starts those scales go on a large, small pattern.. I never noticed :P
Defenitly prefer the westerns as well, love the mesh kinda look they have from a distance. but what i found most interesting is the patients that snake had, kept striking with it's mouth closed, could have easily tried if not gotten your fingers. (keep in mind i have no clue your safty precations on the other side of the camara.)
What makes you think that the western greens are more pretty then the eastern greens? Personally i like their color more. Do you have any easterns in your collection?
Great video once more, Al, but some of the scenes in this and in your last video (like the story of the D. viridis bite, gabby having a hissyfit, etc) were featured in previous videos. Still loved to watch this scenes again! ;)
I can't believe your snake was drinking water from your hand! (and by hand I mean bottle) That's absolutely amazing that the snake is comfortable enough to do this and that it knows how to!

How would that mangrove snake's venom respond in a bite? is it a hospital job, and a possible fatal bite?
Was watching a video of steve irwin handling one on an elephant documentry...I don't know much about them, would be nice for some information - Thanks

1) I don't know, the snake didn't tell me and I didn't ask.
2) She does not see me as a threat, so she is not defensive with me.
