  • Btw LS motors can't stand much pressure. I personally watched a guy I know grenade a stock ls2 engine after only running it about 3 times at the track he was on 7psi.

  • All LS based motors can handle 7 psi with a 76 mil turbo plus or minus a psi for creep. Its all the other parts that transfer the power to the ground are what cant handle the power... trans, axels (same size), suspension. They put all the focus on the corvette and leave out the camaro for testing. Metaphorically speaking.

  • @r1cefed What you do not realize is that the The camaro motors don't like boost. 4psi is about right for thy motor, unless your doing internal work on that motor, it's not gonna hold up to much more then 4psi

  • thats a godspeed turbo on the camaro? thats a $600 PoS , honestly it held up nicely , it really shouldn't have even had a chance.

  • @r1cefed It's not the turbo man it's the motor they're worried about. Those motors hate high boost. I've seen a LS1 to start letting go @5 psi

  • Not mad idk either of those guys. I just don't know why somebody would be racing on 4 psi. That turbo can easily and safely make 8-10.

  • @r1cefed you have to account for the size of the compressor that the air is leaving. i run 22 psi on my mazdaspeed3 and you're trying to say id beat a procharged vette because those only run 5? a 70mm turbo is pretty decent sized.

    Give that LS1 8 pounds of boost and watch the rods slash through the block. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that that motor can't handle boost. The Cobra on the other hand can. It has forged pistons, rods, and a forged crank. You can slam 20+ pounds of boost on a Cobra and never have to tear into the motor. Forged=Better.

  • @r1cefed It may have been on 4 psi, but it has more hp than the stang.

  • @r1cefed Actually a ported blower on a cobra doesn't actually put out that much more hp you just get more low end torque. The cobra is probably around 18psi depending on what size pulley he's running they operate at 13psi stock. Anyway the harder you spend the engine the more the boost starts dropping on the stock blower they really aren't that efficient so it's all a wash really.

  • @Ericsson787 just like any other turbo. the difference is that it dosn't need an itercooler because the inlet charge pipe is so long it acts as an intercooler. you'd think it would take long to spool but they don't.

  • What size pulley are you on? With those mods, a 2.76, and a port on the stock eaton shouldn't u be putting out right about 500-505 rwhp? I guess it all depends on the tune though. Either way, very nice car.

  • @mrgamer1977 More like it needs to crank up the boost ... Running less than 0.5 bar on a 3+ bar turbo? Sounds like he should have gone with a smaller turbo. I can't imagine why one would even install a 70mm turbo and not even start at 8 psi, even with a simple ARP rod bolt swap the motor can handle that. Rod bolts are cheap compared to the turbo alone.

  • It's Maybe 500hp at the crank and that's wishful thinking for only 4psi. Turn it up to the 10 that it can run it's a whole different car. Then stuff starts breaking though

  • It weighs a little over 3700 without him. Granted it has aftermarket wider wheels that probably added a little weight. Also its a auto which weighs more than the 6 speed. I may have rounded up when i say almost 4000 O-o. My point still stands though that people only look at horse power ratings on paper and use that as way to determine wether something is faster instead of also factoring weight, gearing, torque, driver etc. etc.

  • Mustang haters are sooooo funny. They think there is no way a mustang could beat a Z. A 03 Cobra weighs 3600 lbs and guess what? The Z weighs close to 4000 lbs. So the weight difference alone gave the Cobra a better chance to start with even if the camaro had more horses. Its a little thing called power to weight ratio. It blows my mind that people see that a car has more horses on paper and think because of that they will when. SMH you gotta factor in weight and gearing too ya fucktards

  • @0gmstuckey Check your facts please, the Z weighs about 3500 curb. The reason the Cobra won had to have been due to either bad tuning or less hp than advertised by the Z. I was gunna say the cobra won because the turbo needed time to spool but you can obviously hear it spooled.

  • I dont know about 520@4psi...Probably closer to low 400's. I built an autmatic t/a that made 556 on 8 psi, but thats a different story.

  • @neon2984 If you think a boosted V8 is slow you're on some heavy shit. The maro was on a basemap on 4psi, i doubt it's making the claimed horepower but it's still making over 450whp on just 4 psi non tuned. One thing a SRT 4 could never do.

  • Hint for the camaro driver learn to brake boost instead of waiting to spool why not have the advantage of a rolling launch under full boost did it in my friends 99 z28 sts set up on 10lbs being able to roll at 50 and spool up and take off like the other car is standing still is priceless
