In metroid prime 2, the beam ammo is LIMITED!!! so take advantage and dont ever go back to the power beam unless something is impervious to everything but power beam.

I got up to the ledge just before the purple door without space jump boots or wave beam. It's because you can jump in Morph Ball mode, may work only on wii as I just bought trilogy the other day. When your climbing the first bit on your way to the purple door near the icy back things, at the very top you can jump ontop of that pillar and jump across without space jump boots.
