obama is a dirty fucking liar. he said he would close down Guantanamo bay but it never happened because he is like all politicians, spineless and evil.

I am so sorry that you've had to endure such inhumane treatment. I can only hope that you find solace and care from your families, friends, supporters and peers. As an abuse survivor I can empathize with the many feelings you experience. You are very strong, brave and spiritual human beings and I wish you all happier tomorrows.
These are western Englishmen!!! THIS IS AN ATROCITY!! This war against Islam must end. We americans have been SO MANIPULATED into hating Arabs and Muslims. So....equal rights for all races, genders, orientations, etc., EXCEPT MUSLIMS!?! WE SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED OF OUR GOVERNMENT!! Even just solely on a humanitarian basis, setting aside all politics or beliefs, Guantanamo is a nothing more than a sick torture chamber, i doubt there is a single guilty man there. May God be with these men.
@911insidejob81... I'm pretty sure it's NOTHING like what the Nazi's did. First off, Nazi's would cut off peoples appendages just to see how the person would react. Other things they did were test drugs on Jews, Gypsies, and others. They also sent Jews to take showers and sent them to cook....YES THATS EXACTLY WHAT WE'RE DOING!!!! Next time, you should probably learn a little history before opening your mouth and comparing something as horrible and tragic as the Holocaust to Water-boarding.
@Sir1986K That's a fairly ignorant statement. Were our techniques as bad as the Nazis? Of course not. Did we torture innocent people? Of course we did. Did we kill prisoners that had not been charges with a single crime? Yes. Is torturing prisoners something that America stands for? I hope not. America has done far worse to its prisoners than just water boarding. And even that is against what America stands for.
@marley54fd Kill prisoners? where are you getting your info? We didn't kill anyone, lol. yes we water-boarded people to try to get information out of them and they had to live on a Caribbean island with free health care and full religious freedom. Ok, here is a fact: Alot of the people we release from Guantanamo go back to their terrorist ways. Look up Said Ali al-Shihri. i'm sure you'll find an article by the very liberal ny times about how he has become deputy leader of al-qaeda in yemen.
@Sir1986K For someone that wants to comment on this topic, your ignorance is astounding. The US hasn't killed any detainees? Since YouTube won't let me link about 40 different websites for you to look up, why don't you just google "detainees killed in US custody." We've killed many people who were nothing more than suspects who never even charged with a single crime. A lot of of their autopsies even listed homicide as the cause of their death.
@marley54fd ok, your whole conspiracy theory is a little much for me. i read up on some of your "sources" they dont exactly look reputable. and some of them flatly announce the fact most of the detainees were killed AFTER they were released and rejoined ''the fight against the non-believers" (aka- America). Give me a specific, reputable source. Bottom line, maybe some of these people were wrong place wrong time. But thats hard to think about when most were found with AK's in their hands.
@Sir1986K "At least 108 people have died in American custody in Iraq and Afghanistan, most of them violently, according to government data provided to The Associated Press. Roughly a quarter of those deaths have been investigated as possible abuse by U.S. personnel." CBS news Mar 16, 2005. If you want to deny the facts, you can.. But all the evidence says that you're wrong. So stop trying to make it sound like there's just not enough data out there for you, because then you sound like a moron.
@Sir1986K You shouldn't make specious claims like "after they were released and rejoined 'the fight against the nonbelievers' (aka- America)" and "most were found with AK's in their hands" and then tell people they're making things up. That's incredibly hypocritical when there isn't any evidence (since none of these men were given trials) that any detainees were even part of terrorist groups, much less returned to them.
@Zenthik Everything I wrote came from various and credible news sources. The quote, "most were found with AK's in their hands" came from the ny times I believe. Credible, would you agree? These words came from reporters trying to find out whats going on. They went out with the troops and saw this information with there own eyes. And why do we need to give trials to people who aren't citizens of this country? We'd need to show proof which would give up intel sources and endanger american lives.
One day it will be you and you will wonder where your freedom went,,, huh? Apathy is the nature of the social training that makes a a nation think they are right and some other nation is wrong. Apathy must be melded with the truth. Any nation that thinks they can kill their way to a better future is living in the sick world of the past blinded by their own hunger for self and will fall. RIP false powers of the unseen/unknowing/uncareing and those that say they have power over lives. who's life?
Well, one thing is certain: If any of them *didn't* receive food or adequate medical treatment and died as a result of any injuries sustained during "enhanced interrogation" you're never going to hear those guys' story. Maybe there would be a log entry somewhere that they "committed suicide while in captivity," but that would be it...
(This was in reply to someone's remarks that the prisoners had it better than many Americans, which seems to have been voted down since.)
Well I guess us United States citizens needs to finally realize that our people have no justice at all. Lets keep helping other nations and other ethnic groups which come to our country for free hand outs. ACLU, you suck. We all do not have to believe what you force down our throats to believe. Typical communists in our country to denounce everything our four fathers fought to have for us today. If you come to our country to cause such horrific deaths, then death to you. Eye for a eye.
One quibble with this video: the narrator keeps calling them "detainees", when the correct term is "prisoners". The reason the Bush Administration started calling them "detainees" is so all the rules about the treatment of prisoners didn't appear to apply. And I'm sad to say the Obama administration seems determined to continue the practice.
other people's lives and humanity aren't yours to trade, friend. the "bottom line" you would like to draw on the bodies of these innocent men reflects your commitment to US hegemony and militaristic violence around the world. you aren't a revolutionary, despite your nickname; you're a reactionary member of the lumpenproletariat more interested in the spoils of empire than shared humanity. i guess that makes you a rightist "christian" as well.
Stupid yanks. Even your german prisoners of war got better treatment than this. So why is it suddenly ok to shove stuff up peoples asses and "waterboard" them?
Obama is allegedly closing this hell hole in January. Now if we could just get him to get us out of Iraq, not go to Afghanistan, stop sedition, destroy the Patriot Act, remove his expansion of executive powers, and advance gay rights we'd be cooking.
i agree with you with the exception of the Afghanistan part, we are there for a legitimate defensive operation, we were attacked first and we are retaliating.
I'm a huge supporter of Obama, now and forever more, and couldn't agree with you more. I have the utmost faith in the President and his team - it's just going to take time, careful planning and informed insight, which is the exact opposite approach of the Bush administration. We need to stand strongly beside our president because he's challenging things that his predecessors fail to even acknowledge. Go America!! Go Obama!!
Thank the lord for ACLU lawyers who are determined to uphold the most basic of human rights- rights that are supposed to make up the core of this nation's founding- that a man is innocent unless proven guilty.
HOW HAVE WE SUNK SO LOW?
We need the REAL criminals to be jailed, tried, and sentenced- the traitors in the Bush administration- who betrayed the entire nation and plunged us into these dastardly assaults on sovereign nations and on innocent civilians. RE-Investigate 911.
It's nice to think that concentration camps and the like are impossible in the modern, "civilized" west. We've come so far in so many ways when it comes to human rights and justice
So how did we take such a huge step backwards? And why are we content to sweep it under the rug? It's not right, and if we don't own up and fix this, it'll happen again.

These were legitimate prisoner held in a legitimate prison. Gitmo wasn't a concentration camp or a death camp of any kind. If you really have to make mistaken accusations, come somewhat closer to the target, please.
Actually, this is entirely the point. The big issue here is a failure of justice. Not all Gitmo detainees were innocent, to be sure. But some were. These men were sent there on the basis of evidence that was never seen (who knows if it even existed), accusations that were never made. They were given no way to defend themselves or prove their innocence. And if they were really guilty or the govt had proof they were a threat, why were they released with no strings attached (no parole, etc)?
If you want to discuss the justice system, great finally someone with something interesting to debate. However be aware under the laws the detainees were detained, as unlawful combatants. Nothing is amiss regarding their lack of legal council, challenges to their accusers and other matters such as these. You can Google POW and then unlawful combatant as you will be directed there.
I have no idea why they were released when they were but it's a good question.
What do you find illegitimate about Gitmo? Who was oppressed in 1776? What exactly are your education credentials? and who died and put you in charge of who can and cannot post in this forum? Seems you like to think you can oppress, interesting.
first off your a dumbass, second i said we've been oppressing people since 1776, slavery MORON, putting japanese in internment camps, lynching blacks, the stupid jim crow laws, grandfather clause FOOL
Can you think of anything else? I mean really anything? Try hard.. maybe ask someone to help you.. Really really really try and then answer this, fucktard.
How many 'sins' is this country guilty of?
How much of a world sweeping positive factor has this country been?
How many other countries are guilty of far worse?
If you still can't figure out how to answer, don't worry. I don't expect anything valid from you anyway.
once again your a dumbass, were guilty of a lot of sins, we've done good stuff, but that doesn't wipe out the bad, we didn't have to do those things like: Tuskegee , Trail of Tears, wow i mean if that is not a lot of stuff to you in my previous post, then you truly are blind
I'm not blind, you are. Nothing I say will ever be enough for you. Unless you get EVERYTHING you feel the country has done to wrong people, the answer that 'Every Country has an ugly past they like to hide in their closet' will be meaningless to you.
I don't believe in perfect people and I sure as hell don't believe this country is perfect. But I like it here and wouldn't trade it for any other nation in the world.
BTW: How is the Grandfather Clause an injustice? Just curious.
anyway im glad im american, what you seem not to be able to get is the part where we didn't have to do those things to people, nobody' s perfect, but it's not a good excuse
However either you or I don't understand the way your using the term "Grandfather Clause".
I suppose it could be used for ill purposes but everything I can think of is good. It protects the citizens from being unfairly 'burdened' by new laws when the clause is applied.
I'm not going to research your point for you but if you'd care to explain your position, I'll read it.

Yes they were tortured, That is some bullshit, They were given free medical and given a meal. Treated better then the american people who struggle to make it everyday. Again another pointless video that show nothing but bullshit. If you want to see tortured. Talk to some of are troops that have no been given food and who had there finger broken. Guantanamo at no time was a bad place. 911 workers can't even get the medical that was recieved at the bay.
dude ..are you fuckin stupid ? or just is normal for you to be raped with a stick ? oh... free medical ... bullshit.. sickos there sickos here.. the problem is some of them are making "boom" and others are "heroes" you know what ..fuck this and fuck this comment , nobody give a shit about anyone's opinion
those "americans" weren't better than the guys blowin' up in crowded places ... same type of imbeciles , religion isn't an excuse for craziness. I stood at the same table with muslims ,jews , catholics and god knows what.. where is rationalism religion doesn't count .
I don't think any of the guys in this video said anything to justify the suicide attacks comitted. And none of them had done anything of that nature themselves. They looked pretty decent to me. So if you don't mind please spare us your irrelevant paranoia and get a life. That's a request, not a threat.
According to Islam they are expected to kill people from other religions if ALL other methods of conversion fail.
I forget if it was this Pope or the last who said Islam is the religion of the sword. And he wouldn't recant his statement either, in the face of international pressure.
I don't believe Jesus was every recorded saying it was ok to kill those who won't convert to Christianity. Certainly not in the Bible.. Maybe you heard him whispering it into your head??
Sooo now you want to argue about what we think someone who died 1980 years ago meant?
Actually I don't think this sword, if it is said he had one, had anything to do with converting people. After all he was himself considered a Rabbi and never tried to forcibly convert any of the other jews. He converted some with his message but not through force.
What a hypocrite. Weren't you just talking about Muhammad and Islam and them doing the same thing? But yet you can't talk about that with Christianity. It's a well known verse in Christianity mostly by anti people who bring it up. You're just a pathetic hypocrite and an ignorant moron.
Not being a biblical scholar (though I have read the thing cover to cover trying to understand it) I cannot say for sure but I am pretty sure the Bible does not advocate killing people it's followers cannot convert. The Koran and Islam religion does.
All your doing is 'sniping'. Your picking posts that you have no idea of their validity and your challenging them using personal insults. It's a wonderfully ineffective tactic, since you offer no proof of anything. By all means continue.
I didn't say I was an expert on the Islamic holy book. Did you just promote me to the rank of expert? Thanks so much but I cannot accept.
I DO know about the 'sacred' killing of those who (eventually) won't convert. Since you seem to be the expert, why don't you find out for yourself. Preferably after your medication wears off.
I'm not doing your research for you. Tell me then when CAN a Muslim kill a non-convert. Under what religiously legal reason. I'm tired of researching the naysaying of others. If you disprove my statement then prove it wrong.
muslims dont have rights to kill peacefull people ..no one have...if someone think he will in paradise because he kill nonconvert - he is wrong...and if he realy will kill-Allah will send him to hell.....clear truth....its a on of top biggest sins in Islam Dont judje our religion by peoples behavior , or people who just pretending being muslim
You sound like your a Muslim yourself. I made generalizations about the whole of your faith and I apologize. My Neighbor very recently took a class in Muslim/Christian relations (I forget the exact name) it was he who told me that your holy book allows for the murdering of non-converts if a very long and 'reasonable' attempt had been made otherwise.
Second hand knowledge is how most of us learn. Ever read a textbook or a holy book for that matter?
Lots of Military people have taken classes to familiarize themselves with the differences between our two cultures. My friend being one of those.
Since my post was challenged by someone whom I believe to be an actual Muslim, I will make sure my information is completely accurate before I make the accusation again. I could reassert it now except I wish to be 100% accurate.
He didn't take a course in Muslim/Christian relations. He submitted himself to an ignorant bigot to be brainwashed with disinformation on Islam. You haven't done any research on this topic; you've gone hunting for someone who will tell you that your hate and racism are good Christian responses to the decline of US political power abroad and white supremacy at home. I'll bet you also have "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" on your bookshelf.
Hey, wow.. a Telepath. Your a rare breed my friend.
I'm not about to read the 'KORAN' cover to cover to answer something I already know. Can you deny certain 'clerics', extremist or no, advocate the murder of innocent Christians and Muslims from other or rival sects or the reasons they do so? Please feel free to deny.
It's not surprising your wrong about the contents of my book shelf. If fact if you want to come over and take a peek, I'll provide directions.
I'll clarify from him what he meant but apologize in the interim. I do know there are many 'sects' of Islam just like there are of Christianity. Not all 'sects' are the sworn enemy of my people, just like not all Christians are sworn enemies of Islam. Making broad generalizations including all of Islam is wrong as such generalizations are always wrong.
You seem to be going around like you're an expert with what's in the book. I think that's funny since you can't even spell the name of the book properly. That's like rightwing Christian's who talk about the end of the world with the book of Revelation when they don't even spell it right and they get a lot of their shit from fictional books (that "Left Behind" shit).
There are plenty of stories in the Bible of God telling others to kill. Jesus even mentioned he came with a sword. Of course he didn't mean to kill people but people like you might interpret it that way as you do with the Qu'ran. I love you going on and on what's supposedly in the book when you probably haven't even read it. Hell you can't even spell it properly so why should anyone take what you say about the Qu'ran seriously? LOL. So funny.
littlepinky82 are you really that stupid? in the bible when Jesus mentions a sword he is speaking metaphorically about the Bible, the Word of God, not a sharpened piece of steel. as for accusing someone of mis-spelling qu'ran, it can be spelled multiple different ways.
No shit. Way to miss my point. So you're in no position to call others stupid since you didn't obviously read everything I said dumbshit. I said that people can take it to mean literally if they are doing like the other person and picking and choosing what they want to read from a religious text. Lots of people use that to say Christianity is violent. Dumbshit. Oh and officially it's spelled Qu'ran the last time I checked.
Flying Servant of US Empire Airborne75th. Can you provide the Qur'anic & Hadithic dalil on which you base your interpretation of the Qur'an? Which tafsir have you used? Or do you actually know anything at all about Islam? You certainly don't remember, or perhaps never understood, Benedict XVI's Regensburg lecture, including the notorious quotation from one of the last emperors of Byzantium (and Benedict's own quote from the Qur'an about there being no compulsion in religion).
I've said it already, but just recently, that I'm not about to read any 'holy' books for the basis of a debate here. It would be idiotic. Most people here don't even practice civility and hurl insults at every opportunity. This is not an audience worth an actual investment of real time.
Let me try and answer your questions:
No, N/A, Yes. I have no reason to pay attention who what which Pope has said or why.
It looks like I made conflicting statements. I paid attention to the 'religion of the sword' comment as a sound bite as it made national news here in the USA. I never bothered to research the 'situation' but clearly remember the turmoil the comment made.
Oh but you can trust a "Christian" like George W Bush who has tortured and raped people with his authority and started two wars killing millions. Right. *rolls eyes*
A terrorist country like the US invites terrorist responses. How many innocents has the Airborne 75th killed in the last decade? As long as the US, with its many hundreds of military & espionage installations all around the world, continues to seek, promote, fund and supply war & insurrection in every part of the globe, US civilians will be at risk. If you are in the military yourself, you are a "legal" target of those you wage war against. Not all the killing in your wars is overseas anymore.
There is no Airborne 75th unit (not that I know of anyway.) I use the ID to attract the attention of an actual military unit. Sort of a code that would be recognized by some and overlooked by most.
When I was in service, I was certainly a target. Were I to fall to a terror based attack tomorrow I would still consider myself a legitimate target.
erm.. Yes we have instillation all over the globe however, please tell me where we are promoting terrorism. Which sort of insurrections and where?
To have an insurrection you have to be rebelling against a government in power. So:
Iraq might count if you consider the aid we gave to the Kurds following the first gulf war. I'm not sure exactly what aid we provided, except for food, medicine and other humanitarian aid. When Saddam decided to attack the Kurdish people living within his borders (with chemical weapons if I'm not mistaken) we took no special action.
We flat out invaded Afghanistan though might have aided some group in their struggles against a government that harbored Al-Quida. I'll concede this point to you.
The post I was replying to mentioned 'continuing to seek' which I take to mean currently or at least modern events. If your referring to the pre-Panama Colombia, your right. However that was a long time ago.
We've trained government forces in order to help them control their own Cocaine situation. But these actions do not count as an insurrection unless we were trying to topple the Colombian government using these American trained troops.
It's best to state your points and not try and hide behind innuendo. See then I'm likely not to know what your talking about and answer some question incorrectly.
Pakistan is:
1) a nuclear power and
2) fighting AlQuda as we speak.
Aid to whom? the Kurds or the Colombians? If you were clear as to what you were talking about and what you are talking about now, this would go smoother.
Unless you could care less for what I say and are just wasting my time as you are a waste of space.
He would have had knowledge of the act before it occurred OR was grossly negligent in some way. As the 'Commander in Chief' I rather doubt someone is going to even make the accusation he was responsible. Except maybe you.. But you can tell all your 'friends' on the short bus tomorrow morning.
I trust that George Bush acted in good conscious and defended this country from further wide scale terrorist attacks, with full knowledge that acting as he felt he must act would villianize him. His religious beliefs mean nothing to me.

Torture is application of pain to the body to obtain information. Discomfort, three meals a day, a bed, bathroom, religious material, time for prayer, and even exercise recreational activies do NOT equal torture. get off your soapbox. These people detained here are alive and well, being held in a tropical paradise. They have it better than every American serving jail time. There are 3,000 people in a hole in Manhattan island who don't have it nearly as nice.
What the fuck are you talking about?? R u trying to say these men had it easy? Fuck off... they committed no crimes. If you think GITMO is soo dandy then why don't you try going there.
They were raped and beaten daily for 2-6 years untill some of them died. They had no access to a lawyer, they were not even told what they were accused of. you are innocent until proven guilty, no one is above the rule of law. When that doesnt happen you have a king (or president in our case), who can take any innocent man or woman off the street and torture them for 6 years until death, without any explanation or penalty. Which is exactly what happened. But i guess ppl in prison have it worse.
Even if we assume the worst about these detainees, none of the abuse and torture should have occurred.
America should be better than that.
America is so strong, that we should not need to resort to torture.
The principles of liberty, and of the Constitution, are so wonderful, and so inspiring, that all we have to do is to apply them as consistently as we can to everyone we can, and liberty and prosperity will spread across the world.
Plus anyone who does interrogations knows it doesn't work anyways. REAL interrogators never do that shit. There's plenty of testimony about that out there.
I pray these people and others like them to be rewarded/compensated by ALLAH for the unjustified suffering they have experienced during their unjustified detention. And those who put them through this to be punished...in this life.
From what I can tell, most of the comments posted here are at best conjecture, and at worst, outright lies. And I wouldn't take the word of an inmate whose culture prides itself on the ability to lie convincingly. Show us one bit of proof that we tortured and beat to death any inmate at Guantanamo. For that matter, aside from the few that were documented, show us the overwhelming evidence that the prisoners at Guantanamo were mistreated. Most of what you hear is hearsay and lies.
So, you were there and saw this first hand? If so, bring it on. If not, it's hearsay and conjecture. And based on what you've posted, you've gotten most of your information from sites sympathetic to those being held there. What would you expect them to say?
Once again it's evidence. Testimony, video, pictures, scene of the crime(s). When police do crime science investigations after a crime they aren't there either but they know what happened from evidence and testimonies. Simple. And how the hell do you know where I got my info? Once again the evidence is out there unless you're a moron.
Oh and apparently it doesn't matter what people who were there and what they say. You already have not believed the people who this has happened to in this video. Oh and same for people who were there as guards such as people who testified in the documentary "Ghosts of Abu Ghraib" who participated in the shit. And you get your information from assshits.
The prisoners in the videos were indoctrinated and trained to lie. The organizations who have produced those "documentaries" have a clear agenda, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the law. So please stop tossing that line out there like you're actually going to catch something.
But Airborne75th, you ARE taking the path of least resistance. You're trusting the State to violate habeus corpus, the single most important civil right americans possess, because of... terrorism?
Here's the thing. You think you're really brave, but in truth you're willing to discard hundreds of years of legal precedent just because some brown people might blow up a building or kill a few thousand people.
Do you know what that makes you? A pussy. Risk is the price of a free society.
No, I've been in the military and risked my life for the principals this country was founded on. I don't consider that the path of least resistance. I'm engaging in a discussion in here, amongst dozens of antagonists, are these the acts of a pussy? Aggressive interrogation saved lives on the battlefield and civilian lives as well, everyone seems to forget how many civilians suicide bombers kill. I'm not blindly trusting the state, I know how it works.
Come to Charleston, SC and call me a Pussy. I mean really what is the point in all this graphic name calling? I sure as hell didn't start it. The only response is to invite you somewhere where I can see if you have the intestinal fortitude to say it to my face. betcha don't
As a true American I would like to apologize for the horrifying abuses my country may have done to you. I really have no-way to stop it however; for whats its worth I try everyday.
wow i had no idea great vid i remember all of the right wingers at my school and even the princible talking about how wrong it was to release these people from guantanamo
And this is important because ground troops cannot be made vulnerable by expecting them to collecting evidence that would be approved in a courtroom. I'm sure some testing to identify which explosives were used or how the IED was constricted is done. I do know MANY insurgents became prisoners in IRAQ because they were observed preparing to attack or planting IED's by the ever watchful eyes of snipers concealed in the city. They were captured for their intel value rather than being shot.
Maybe you need to have served in the Military to fully understand the reasons the UCMJ exists. Why it exists and why it is needed. This video seems a spin on the fact these men were somehow treated illegally because they were held without trial for so long. You folks at the ACLU know why, hence it seeming like a spin on the realities of the legal system these men were held accountable to.
You sidestepped the part when I asked if you can actually understand the reasons for the UCMJ, why it exists and why it was created. I don't believe torture took place if so it's an outdated definition. Perhaps it's the mildest torture technique known to man. The Military tortures it's own people when they teach them to resist water boarding. I've been water boarded. Let your heart bleed on another doorstep.
You're a fucker. Torture is torture period. It's all about intent. Oh and what about being held in prison without a lawyer and a day in court? You're a fascist and thus everything you say about the legal system is full of shit. Oh and on the internet whether or not you were in the military means shit.
Only by yappy little dogs like yourself. I know how intelligence gathered from wherever saved lives by halting most of the IED threat in Iraq. Lives saved, US lives, coalition lives and even Iraqi lives. Lives were saved, prisoners thought they were being drowned and were fine 10 minutes after the procedure. Personally I'm more bothered by the denial of their religious items, including prayer mats than I am about any water boarding. You folks seem to like to blow things way out of proportion.
PROVE that lives were saved, don't just utter the standard neoclown ideological belief that lives were saved because you want to believe it as justification for torture.
Weapon caches were uncovered. Many being 105mm Artillery shells left over from the first Gulf War. These shells were therefore not used to make IEDs. Logic is all I can offer as I obviously don't have access to actual battlefield reports. Oh deny that lives were indeed saved. Please.
LOL. Those shells were so old it was pathetic. Anyone who has looked at that knows nothing could have been made with that unless you had some pixie dust from Tinkerbell.
You are proving yourself to be even stupider than I gave you credit for. Do a little research and you will find what I said was exactly true. I know people in real life who worked in Iraq testing mine detection and detonation equipment and live next to an airman who serves in EOD, he's been deployed in Afganastan several times. If I didn't already know my facts were in order these gentlemen would have straightened me out a while ago. Go read a book, imbecile.
obama is a dirty fucking liar. he said he would close down Guantanamo bay but it never happened because he is like all politicians, spineless and evil.

Sir1986K 1 year ago
@Sir1986K That's a fairly ignorant statement. Were our techniques as bad as the Nazis? Of course not. Did we torture innocent people? Of course we did. Did we kill prisoners that had not been charges with a single crime? Yes. Is torturing prisoners something that America stands for? I hope not. America has done far worse to its prisoners than just water boarding. And even that is against what America stands for.
marley54fd 1 year ago
@marley54fd Kill prisoners? where are you getting your info? We didn't kill anyone, lol. yes we water-boarded people to try to get information out of them and they had to live on a Caribbean island with free health care and full religious freedom. Ok, here is a fact: Alot of the people we release from Guantanamo go back to their terrorist ways. Look up Said Ali al-Shihri. i'm sure you'll find an article by the very liberal ny times about how he has become deputy leader of al-qaeda in yemen.
Sir1986K 1 year ago
@Sir1986K For someone that wants to comment on this topic, your ignorance is astounding. The US hasn't killed any detainees? Since YouTube won't let me link about 40 different websites for you to look up, why don't you just google "detainees killed in US custody." We've killed many people who were nothing more than suspects who never even charged with a single crime. A lot of of their autopsies even listed homicide as the cause of their death.
marley54fd 1 year ago
@marley54fd ok, your whole conspiracy theory is a little much for me. i read up on some of your "sources" they dont exactly look reputable. and some of them flatly announce the fact most of the detainees were killed AFTER they were released and rejoined ''the fight against the non-believers" (aka- America). Give me a specific, reputable source. Bottom line, maybe some of these people were wrong place wrong time. But thats hard to think about when most were found with AK's in their hands.
Sir1986K 1 year ago
@Sir1986K "At least 108 people have died in American custody in Iraq and Afghanistan, most of them violently, according to government data provided to The Associated Press. Roughly a quarter of those deaths have been investigated as possible abuse by U.S. personnel." CBS news Mar 16, 2005. If you want to deny the facts, you can.. But all the evidence says that you're wrong. So stop trying to make it sound like there's just not enough data out there for you, because then you sound like a moron.
marley54fd 1 year ago
@Sir1986K You shouldn't make specious claims like "after they were released and rejoined 'the fight against the nonbelievers' (aka- America)" and "most were found with AK's in their hands" and then tell people they're making things up. That's incredibly hypocritical when there isn't any evidence (since none of these men were given trials) that any detainees were even part of terrorist groups, much less returned to them.
Zenthik 1 year ago
@Zenthik Everything I wrote came from various and credible news sources. The quote, "most were found with AK's in their hands" came from the ny times I believe. Credible, would you agree? These words came from reporters trying to find out whats going on. They went out with the troops and saw this information with there own eyes. And why do we need to give trials to people who aren't citizens of this country? We'd need to show proof which would give up intel sources and endanger american lives.

Airborne75th 2 years ago
Actually, this is entirely the point. The big issue here is a failure of justice. Not all Gitmo detainees were innocent, to be sure. But some were. These men were sent there on the basis of evidence that was never seen (who knows if it even existed), accusations that were never made. They were given no way to defend themselves or prove their innocence. And if they were really guilty or the govt had proof they were a threat, why were they released with no strings attached (no parole, etc)?
wraith88 2 years ago
If you want to discuss the justice system, great finally someone with something interesting to debate. However be aware under the laws the detainees were detained, as unlawful combatants. Nothing is amiss regarding their lack of legal council, challenges to their accusers and other matters such as these. You can Google POW and then unlawful combatant as you will be directed there.
I have no idea why they were released when they were but it's a good question.

Not that I hold any allegiance toward any Pope.

LittlePinky82 2 years ago
Sooo now you want to argue about what we think someone who died 1980 years ago meant?
Actually I don't think this sword, if it is said he had one, had anything to do with converting people. After all he was himself considered a Rabbi and never tried to forcibly convert any of the other jews. He converted some with his message but not through force.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
What a hypocrite. Weren't you just talking about Muhammad and Islam and them doing the same thing? But yet you can't talk about that with Christianity. It's a well known verse in Christianity mostly by anti people who bring it up. You're just a pathetic hypocrite and an ignorant moron.
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
Not being a biblical scholar (though I have read the thing cover to cover trying to understand it) I cannot say for sure but I am pretty sure the Bible does not advocate killing people it's followers cannot convert. The Koran and Islam religion does.
All your doing is 'sniping'. Your picking posts that you have no idea of their validity and your challenging them using personal insults. It's a wonderfully ineffective tactic, since you offer no proof of anything. By all means continue.

Ainura11287 2 years ago 2
You sound like your a Muslim yourself. I made generalizations about the whole of your faith and I apologize. My Neighbor very recently took a class in Muslim/Christian relations (I forget the exact name) it was he who told me that your holy book allows for the murdering of non-converts if a very long and 'reasonable' attempt had been made otherwise.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
so based on second hand knowledge your friend got from a class which you can't remember you make such ignorant statements?
Islam does not allow killing of any innocent people. Does any religion? No. Wake up. Maybe read a book.
Ryguy1450 2 years ago
Second hand knowledge is how most of us learn. Ever read a textbook or a holy book for that matter?
Lots of Military people have taken classes to familiarize themselves with the differences between our two cultures. My friend being one of those.
Since my post was challenged by someone whom I believe to be an actual Muslim, I will make sure my information is completely accurate before I make the accusation again. I could reassert it now except I wish to be 100% accurate.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
Ok, that'd be great if you could make sure that you're 100% accurate or as accurate as you can be.
I have read the Bible and the Koran. I was interested in religion in college.
Ryguy1450 2 years ago
He didn't take a course in Muslim/Christian relations. He submitted himself to an ignorant bigot to be brainwashed with disinformation on Islam. You haven't done any research on this topic; you've gone hunting for someone who will tell you that your hate and racism are good Christian responses to the decline of US political power abroad and white supremacy at home. I'll bet you also have "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" on your bookshelf.
Brew0k 2 years ago
Hey, wow..
Airborne75th 2 years ago
I'll clarify from him what he meant but apologize in the interim. I do know there are many 'sects' of Islam just like there are of Christianity. Not all 'sects' are the sworn enemy of my people, just like not all Christians are sworn enemies of Islam. Making broad generalizations including all of Islam is wrong as such generalizations are always wrong.
I'll get what I think my facts are straight.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
You seem to be going around like you're an expert with what's in the book. I think that's funny since you can't even spell the name of the book properly. That's like rightwing Christian's who talk about the end of the world with the book of Revelation when they don't even spell it right and they get a lot of their shit from fictional books (that "Left Behind" shit).
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
There are plenty of stories in the Bible of God telling others to kill. Jesus even mentioned he came with a sword. Of course he didn't mean to kill people but people like you might interpret it that way as you do with the Qu'ran. I love you going on and on what's supposedly in the book when you probably haven't even read it. Hell you can't even spell it properly so why should anyone take what you say about the Qu'ran seriously? LOL. So funny.
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
littlepinky82 are you really that stupid? in the bible when Jesus mentions a sword he is speaking metaphorically about the Bible, the Word of God, not a sharpened piece of steel. as for accusing someone of mis-spelling qu'ran, it can be spelled multiple different ways.
chomponthisbitch5 2 years ago 2

Brew0k 2 years ago
There is no Airborne 75th unit (not that I know of anyway.) I use the ID to attract the attention of an actual military unit. Sort of a code that would be recognized by some and overlooked by most.
When I was in service, I was certainly a target. Were I to fall to a terror based attack tomorrow I would still consider myself a legitimate target.
erm.. Yes we have instillation all over the globe however, please tell me where we are promoting terrorism. Which sort of insurrections and where?
Airborne75th 2 years ago
Have you not looked at Iraq and Afghanistan and Colombia?
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
To have an insurrection you have to be rebelling against a government in power. So:
Iraq might count if you consider the aid we gave to the Kurds following the first gulf war. I'm not sure exactly what aid we provided, except for food, medicine and other humanitarian aid. When Saddam decided to attack the Kurdish people living within his borders (with chemical weapons if I'm not mistaken) we took no special action.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
We flat out invaded Afghanistan though might have aided some group in their struggles against a government that harbored Al-Quida. I'll concede this point to you.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
The post I was replying to mentioned 'continuing to seek' which I take to mean currently or at least modern events. If your referring to the pre-Panama Colombia, your right. However that was a long time ago.
We've trained government forces in order to help them control their own Cocaine situation. But these actions do not count as an insurrection unless we were trying to topple the Colombian government using these American trained troops.
Airborne75th 2 years ago

2) fighting AlQuda as we speak.

These people detained here are alive and well, being held in a tropical paradise. They have it better than every American serving jail time. There are 3,000 people in a hole in Manhattan island who don't have it nearly as nice.
ACLU is a joke.

What the fuck are you talking about?? R u trying to say these men had it easy? Fuck off... they committed no crimes. If you think GITMO is soo dandy then why don't you try going there.
o2FRESH4u 2 years ago
They were raped and beaten daily for 2-6 years untill some of them died. They had no access to a lawyer, they were not even told what they were accused of. you are innocent until proven guilty, no one is above the rule of law. When that doesnt happen you have a king (or president in our case), who can take any innocent man or woman off the street and torture them for 6 years until death, without any explanation or penalty. Which is exactly what happened. But i guess ppl in prison have it worse.

Goodbye, America, goodbye. You were a beautiful dream while it lasted. Hello Stanford prison experiment, and hello lumpen masses of Walmartistan.

We Americans hurt ourselves when we torture.

Amen.

Gurdjieffian 2 years ago
It's called evidence. Pictures, witness testimony and video. Only moron's think other wise.

So, you were there and saw this first hand? If so, bring it on. If not, it's hearsay and conjecture. And based on what you've posted, you've gotten most of your information from sites sympathetic to those being held there. What would you expect them to say?
Gurdjieffian 2 years ago 2
Once again it's evidence. Testimony, video, pictures, scene of the crime(s). When police do crime science investigations after a crime they aren't there either but they know what happened from evidence and testimonies. Simple. And how the hell do you know where I got my info? Once again the evidence is out there unless you're a moron.
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
Oh and yes I'm proud to be sympathetic to people who are tortured. Even if it was you.
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
Oh and apparently it doesn't matter what people who were there and what they say. You already have not believed the people who this has happened to in this video. Oh and same for people who were there as guards such as people who testified in the documentary "Ghosts of Abu Ghraib" who participated in the shit. And you get your information from assshits.
LittlePinky82 2 years ago

ProjectHestia 2 years ago 2

They are scum.
But the real war criminals are Bush and Cheney, Rummy, Powell, Wolfy, Gonzo, Rice, Ashcroft , a few CIA director....and many more.
There was a time in America, well over 80-100 years ago, when all of the above mentioned would have been hung by now.
It is sad America is no longer about the rule of law but about just blindly breaking the law.

Airborne75th 2 years ago
Maybe you need to have served in the Military to fully understand the reasons the UCMJ exists. Why it exists and why it is needed. This video seems a spin on the fact these men were somehow treated illegally because they were held without trial for so long. You folks at the ACLU know why, hence it seeming like a spin on the realities of the legal system these men were held accountable to.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
Nope.
Anyone can understand the UCMJ. It is quite clear and easy to read.
The subject here is pretty simple, war crimes. We tortured people to death, that is called murder, pretty simple really.
Somehow treated ilegally?
Yes, torturing these people was in very clear violation of US law. Go read the UN Convention Against Torture, maybe you'll learn something, maybe!
There should never be cheap excuses along with a lame apology for tyranny, but too many are still defending the Dumbya Regime
Neoconhater 2 years ago
You sidestepped the part when I asked if you can actually understand the reasons for the UCMJ, why it exists and why it was created. I don't believe torture took place if so it's an outdated definition. Perhaps it's the mildest torture technique known to man. The Military tortures it's own people when they teach them to resist water boarding. I've been water boarded. Let your heart bleed on another doorstep.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
The fact remains, we tortured people and some we beat to death.
Those are the clear facts you just choose to ignore.
Anyone that comes up an apology for torture is scum.
Neoconhater 2 years ago
The definition of torture is well known except among people like you that are clearly in deep denial.
We tortured people to death, that is called murder you moron.
Neoconhater 2 years ago
You're a fucker. Torture is torture period. It's all about intent. Oh and what about being held in prison without a lawyer and a day in court? You're a fascist and thus everything you say about the legal system is full of shit. Oh and on the internet whether or not you were in the military means shit.
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
Only by yappy little dogs like yourself. I know how intelligence gathered from wherever saved lives by halting most of the IED threat in Iraq. Lives saved, US lives, coalition lives and even Iraqi lives. Lives were saved, prisoners thought they were being drowned and were fine 10 minutes after the procedure. Personally I'm more bothered by the denial of their religious items, including prayer mats than I am about any water boarding. You folks seem to like to blow things way out of proportion.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
PROVE that lives were saved, don't just utter the standard neoclown ideological belief that lives were saved because you want to believe it as justification for torture.
moonsunfirelyte 2 years ago
Weapon caches were uncovered. Many being 105mm Artillery shells left over from the first Gulf War. These shells were therefore not used to make IEDs. Logic is all I can offer as I obviously don't have access to actual battlefield reports. Oh deny that lives were indeed saved. Please.
Airborne75th 2 years ago
LOL. Those shells were so old it was pathetic. Anyone who has looked at that knows nothing could have been made with that unless you had some pixie dust from Tinkerbell.
LittlePinky82 2 years ago
You are proving yourself to be even stupider than I gave you credit for. Do a little research and you will find what I said was exactly true. I know people in real life who worked in Iraq testing mine detection and detonation equipment and live next to an airman who serves in EOD, he's been deployed in Afganastan several times. If I didn't already know my facts were in order these gentlemen would have straightened me out a while ago. Go read a book, imbecile.
