When I crank the Level the tone really changes the gain is increased and it gets brighter and splattier is this normal.

The one that Page uses in the movie is a 90's Sola Sound MKII reissue. Probably the one with the MK1.5 circuit.

My pedals sound great. You do need good gears to have the pedal sounding it's best though.

I've fixed 5 of them w/ blown power transformers...weird shit like that's IMPOSSIBLE to get from Fender (regardless of what some Hot Rod Deluxe Fanboy's probably will respond to this) ...I have no problem w/ Fender amps, I have MANY (1965 Black Face Band Master Head, a 1965 Bassman Head & Matching Fender 212 Speaker Cab., '68 (Silver Face) Super Reverb (w/ no master vol) w/ matching Champ (which is like it's Mini-Me Junior Clone lol)
