I love the original version with Michael and Ann Crumb and this one is great as well. But if you want perfection, you should listen to the recording of Michael and Sarah Brightman singing it. It's absolutely wonderful!

@SopranoOfTheNight Yeah right. Webber wrote some of him best compositions for this play, (imho) and you hardly ever hear these songs when ppl do Webber compilations. I guess because the play is a bit of a downer as far as musicals go.

Ok, he went flat at 3:03, and yes it's a bit obvious, but it's still a fine overall performance. I saw Sarah Brightman do this on the Tonight Show with a singer whose name I cannot recall - it was absolutely stunning. Johnny loved it.

It is from 'The Variety Club of Great Britain Awards' broadcast(in 1990 I'd guess). Michael won the best newcomer award that year.

I wonder if it's possible that ALW is thinking of making this musical into a movie. I had heard at one time that it was definitely on the back burner. They were just working with script re-writes and finding one that was suitable. I do believe the time is growing closer. As they are opening a new production of this in london. I wonder if doing a new production is simply to get the name in circulation again.

Michael was as dreamy as this in 1990 when I was dazzled by Aspects Of Love in London's West End.

17 years later I remember that Saurday matinee with affection.

Years later, a good Aussie production with a so-so actor doing Michael's role, was still enjoyable :Thanks to Delia Hannah and Kevin Colson. (KC was in the London production).

I love this song. Michael Ball is alright but I love the song. And I love how when she starts to sing, in one part...I think it's where there is a short pause and she starts off with, What are we doing, can you believe it? In the background the temper of the violin/viola sounds like a part in "Point of No Return".
