Very nice flake loading method matey. It's great to see the different approach folk have to filling a pipe. With me, and I am sure you're the same, I find that different methods work well depending on the consistency of the flake.

Jay - Awesome video, brother. I would probably call that an Accordian Fold, and I have never even thought about packing a flake like that. Now I can't wait to try that method, because it looks so much better than the traditional fold-n-stuff method I have used in the past.

Jay - I do the same with Loose - just stuff it in - and it works for me - I will try the "Z" method and see how I get on with Flaker - Ive been doing the fold lengthways and the Fold in half width way and twist - Good little story at the end - MInd you your dad might have it right we are going to need a FEW MIllion just to get of this ROCK...LOL......

Hello Jay,

the flake becomes like a "N". ;-) I'm also doing it almost the same way. I'm folding the flakes in the middle and then again until I get a package that fits into my pipe. And I also prefer matches for lighting my pipe, no matter which tobacco I'm smoking. :)

I would try any of the frog morton blends, Gray Havens and Deep hollow included. Also VA Woods is quite nice. If you want a more aromatic blend may enjoy 1Q but you might want to invest in a few of the Seven Seas blends.

ahh accordion shape! I like Accordions...also do you keep your flakes in the tins they come in? Generally they are rectangle and i find that they dont seal as well as the round tins. Do you find this to be true with your tins? My flake tobacco in there is awefully dry haha i probably should put them in a bag..

@sushimandaddi Rubbing them out works too but I find I can get the pipe loaded faster. And for me it's all about getting it loaded and smoking.

Never seen it done this way Jay but it is certainly an efficient way to pack flake, i usually rub my flakes out as it seems to release the flavours more, but I'm going to give your method a go.
