  • thank you for this!!! my grandfather was in the carter family; and that was my first time ever hearing our native brothers speak. i hope u hold true to the circle of one, an, may the spirits be with you

  • give america back to them.

  • I LOVE my Grandpa! This is the man who taught me the ways of the people and Nimiipuutimpt, the language. All I have to say is, we know who we are and where we come from, all of the rest just searching for their roots, lost in what science has to tell them.

  • @ DjonX7 - they are descended from us.

  • @ DjonX7 - No we are not descended from the eastern flats of what is now russia.

  • Sounds beautiful.Thanks for uploading.

  • all of you need to start learning your education about my people (Yakama, Nez perce, warm springs,Umatilla, and Colville) from my people and not from people who want to dictate in the education system of how my people lived and where they came from. especially when they have never stepped foot on a reservation or some of them never even seen an actual Native American or American Indian except on a movie or a book.

  • we are not Russian, Siberian, Mongolian, Asian, or anything else that you "educated" people seem to interpret my people as. You may say we look like all these other races of people but one fact remains that the "bearing Straight" theory is just a theory, my people do not believe that we come from the foreign lands of the asian or european's. I'm addressing this so that you "educated" people may see from our point of view because all of you linguists and anthropoligists tend to learn from others

  • @524Loren I agree with you. The Bering Strait theory is just that, a theory. It's just the white man trying to justify taking the lands that have belonged to your people for thousands of years. The white man believes that if they can convince others that your people were also from another land and that they (your people) also took a previous indigenous population's land from them that would mean they (the white man) were exonerated from any guilt of doing the same thing to your people.

  • The Nez-Perce language sounds almost like a laid-back version of Russian.

  • @fidelbogen A laid back version of russian mixed or jiddish. ancient russian is a mixture of the fullblood sister of this language mixed with north-european celtic, indiginous russian and a smith of jiddish. Although it is very well possible that those words we consider to be jiddish are actually originated from russian traditional language.

  • @fidelbogen These peoples ancestors descend from the eastern flats of what is now Russia, so it would make sense.

  • @DJonX7 Yes...Siberia. But, the indigenous language was not actually Russian. So the resemblance is coincidental. Still, it is noticeable to my ear.

  • TY, & your right I shouldn't have added that. I do get a lil goofy @ times : / ss I wouls edit it out but I don't see a way too. tc n ty

  • I just want to put forward my hope that while trying to learn from the past we don't ruin the future with hate. The whole earth needs us and hopefully we can find ways of getting past all this and moving on. I have no land that belongs to me, I belong to the land...

  • this is beautiful..

  • It's a shame what the white people did to the Natives. As a white person, and an American one at that, I should feel ashamed... but I don't. This was not my doing. So any of you down there in the comments blaming all of the white people for this, shut up. This was the doing of some corrupt US Government executives many, many years ago.

  • @uiruu .yup its not about race or color or DNA, Bad things have happened to people from other people period! over the centuries ` ex. - Spanish Inquisitions, The Irish were not exactly treated greatly over here in the U.s. and the Chinese on the railroads, geeze polititions and laws can/have destroyed hurt people. Well & women ~~ lol Dmn I bet the cave me even took some beings homes unjustly. Bad is just bad. Love is good, Hate is bad ~ If you get this you won't be sad : )

  • @RebeccaMarieW1 I agree with your message but I could do without the rhyme at the end.

  • @RebeccaMarieW1

"The Irish were not exactly treated greatly over here in the U.s. . ."

Compared to how they were treated back in Ireland, by the English, they got the silk glove treatment over here in the U.s. . .

Oliver Cromwell and his New Model Army massacred HALF of the total population of Eire during the 1600s. . . . and that's not all that got done to the Irish, by the English, in Ireland! :(

  • @fidelbogen I didn't actually know all of that but I totally believe you. Theres been a lot of horrific/terrible things in the past by many evil people usually in powerfull positions in many differant races/cultures & places right? Still happining here and there... A lot of stuff stems from ignorance I believealso. I enjoyed watching/hearing H. Axetell, came across this video while downloading Amazing Grace in differant lang's, then started downloading some native Americans songs also.

  • holy shit, I wish i was a native. SOOO BEAST

  • I was honored to meet Horace Axtell 2 times, both were very special. Once was at Bear Paw in 2004 when the Chief Joseph Trail Ride completed the 3 time retracing the 1877 trail, the second was April 19, 2008 in at Fort Vancouver Washington when one of my appaloosa colts, Mamin Glory Rising or "Riz" was donated to the tribe. It was an honor I cherish. May the Nimipu live on forever with Ma a' min.

I miss the old days, the old ways. ~ This, is the only aspect that really mean anything to me. The Native tongue must never, NEVER, be allowed to die. I am so ~ Proud of my indigenous roots. Love, respect, honour, to all my kin !

if you'd remember, your people took in the whites, and even some of the elder women said to bring them no harm. what happened to fighting no more, forever? this is what you are trying to do. racism is spread from ignorance.

Written by a white girl who knows ur own culture better than you. If you insult my culture, i will insult yours, just like a white american.

  • I feel a dept of spirtit in my soul when I hear the native tonges,

I give great reverence to the eath and the spirit of God who created all things.

  • This is wonderful. I loved to hear my mother speak Pima. Although I had never learned my mother's native tongue, I gave her much reverance. The many different Native languages are from deep within, earthy, and it makes my spirit go deep into the wells of my heart.

  • I am a san poil descendant of the Colville Confederated tribes.

May the great Spirit walk with you every day.

You have granted your people a gift through the power of speach in this video. my your Spirits grant you strength to continue the work with close loved one still on this side of the stars.

    However In all this chaos.
