  • And honestly who cares. Robert Smith is, was and always will be an amazing guitarist and an excellent song writer. Even then do you think his playing style was to mock the whole voice over production facade. Put some imagination in to your drab opinions, or find something better to do with your time.

  • Who imitated who, and what does it really matter anyway

  • She looks like Robert Smith's sister.

  • heard Sid Vicious was playing drums once, with them??

  • @danmark844 He did.

  • A bland cover - it does nothing to put a new slant on the original

  • Its not live, so technically, smith is not playing guitar.

  • Still Robert was great in the band as a temp...but couldnt touch John Mgeoch.

  • PERFECT SONG....ROBERT SMITH!!!!!!!!!

  • i saw the banshees : Hammersmith odean xmas '82 or 83 and robert smith was on lead guitar then

  • @gbyrne Lucky you :)

  • so much better than the Beatles version

  • Robert smith???

  • The Banshees guitarist left mid-tour after an argument, and The Cure were the support act, so Robert Smith stepped in. I remember that tour, although I didn't manage to get a ticket.

  • During 1979, the Banshees embarked on a major tour to promote the "Join Hands" album. A few dates into the tour in September, John McKay and Kenny Morris walked out during an in-store signing in Aberdeen after an argument and quit the band.

  • All she needs to do is put a black star on one of her eyes and she'll look like Paul Stanley of KISS.

  • "for being late i rank you up there with siouxie souix ,not the banshees mind ,to be fair they were a mixed bag " Tommy Saxondale

  • WoW! Robert Smith doing what he does best!!!

  • @ GreyT69 hahaha what a weird ASS comment for a great version of this song.

  • hahaha what a weird ASS cover of this song!!

  • OPEN UP YOUR EYES! This for me as a kid was my 'Bowie moment on Top of the Pops'. I was never quite the same again. Siouxsie was so hot-mess sexy, evocative, dangerous and wonderful. And the way Robert Smith played the guitar. Who the hell was this guy?!! I was hard-wired into a whole new landscape in my musical education from then on in.

  • Classic: try again madonna and britney. u have trail blazed nothing. Jk

  • she is a beutiful lady!

  • DEAR PRUDENCE EVERYBODY COOL LIVE NOCTURNE SIOUXSIE AND WELCOME ON YOUTUBE ZIRGLE and the waves peace revolutions

  • Why is Robert Smith playing with his hand on TOP of the neck??!

  • @k4m1n4r1 Cos he's AWESOME :D

  • I can think of TWO tracks by the Beatles that the covers were better, this and The Carpenters version of ticket to ride. There may be others but cant think of any at this time. Anyway ,AWESOME track. Thankyou uploader AND Siouxsie and the Banshees!

  • i love them.

  • It was a great time...Thanks Siouxsie.

  • very cool cover thank you.

  • i wonder if we will ever get the pleasure to hear new music like this again! think not!

  • She looks like Gramms, from Charmed. haha

  • That was very intense, the way it is supposed to be done !!!

  • When I was young (ouch) every girl tried to look like Siouxsie, it seemed... :-)

Nice Vox guitar Mr Smith is playing there!

  • lip syyyyyync

  • She's a singer - and a pirate! Lol, God I miss the 80's!

  • ...wow!

  • is reminds me of my youth :x

    I listened to similar bands

    respect

  • Isn't that Robert Smith playing guitar?

  • @buroun2020 Yes. In fact Robert Smith was in the band ( at the same time a being in The Cure and The Glove ) for the album Hyaena and the tour ( captured on the Nocturne album ) around the same time.

  • @71eliott I'd forgotten Robert started with them. He is playing the VOX teardrop guitar too (just like Ian Curtis), but what a weird way of playing with hand over the top of the fretboard?

  • @Someguyfrom1973 - Since they are not actually playing live he probably did that as a joke. There is a video of The Cure playing Primary (I think) where he is doing the same thing.

  • @71eliott Awesome.. I truly do miss the lyrics of the 80's from bands like the Cure, Cult, the Church, Siouxsie, Joy Division and many others. I have to say the English, Irish, Scottish know how to sing.. great lyrics.

  • @buroun2020 That's it

  • @buroun2020 Yes it is... god knows why they let that Zombie into the band...

  • @buroun2020 looking as enthralled as ever.

    Great cover.

  • @buroun2020 Yes!! It's my Robert!!

  • Very cool. Siouxsie's performances always have such a funky, ethereal quality to them. And hypnotic, almost. Thanks for this =]
