  • why so much filters?? :S

  • What temp is the tank?

  • Beatifull !

  • its noisy.

  • why is the fan on the tank?

  • wil java moss like populate the whole ground? like grass do?

    is that filter necessary?

  • @AesirSovann not quite like grass but will attach itself to anything it can and it grows sideways not upwards and also, with shrimp you need good filtration so 2 small filters is better than 1 big filter since its only a small tank and also the water current he's made from his filters is circular which will helf the marimo ball keep its circular shape

  • ......

  • he's/she's using the fan to lower the temperature of tank because it is hot where he/she lives

  • why the fan??

  • He's using the fan to make the surface of water clean out of dirty bubble

  • the fan is to cool down the temp

  • чё за хрень такая? и вентилятор там зачем?

  • I am assuming the fan circulates the water putting oxygen in to it?? I dunno im a newb at fish i dont even have any!

  • @cafekawaii Shrimp are coldwater so it helps cool the water down, it does oxygenate the tank but he doesnt really need it for that reason since he has 2 filters waterfalling into the tank disrupting the surface

  • why is yer filtration on the front? why do you have that much filter for shrimp? awsome tank

  • Would bee shrimp breed with cherry shrimp beacuse I'm interested on purchasing some for my shrimp tank.

  • Umm...

    Kinda boring.

Maybe some taking and some close ups on the actual shrimp will spice it up.

    XD

    Love the tank tho.

And the one shrimp I saw was nice!

  • nice... but you have the filters on the wrong side.. takes away form the view ~_~

  • how many shrimps do u got in there? like 2 or something? add some life to that tank! like.. some small fish or snails and a piece of wood would be nice too

  • whats that lil thing blocking the entrance of your filter??????

  • @evothefool it would be a fine piece of mesh from stopping the shrimp from getting sucked up

  • you should pull the filters just for the video, keep the bio load wet

  • how long does it take for the java moss to take hold

  • I think for my case a few months...

  • why do you use a fan?

  • rippling the water i guess.

  • sometimes the lights heat the water to much

  • It could be to create water movement to help get oxygen into the water.

  • Is the fan just for surface movement? If so why not just use apowerhead?

  • i have a pretty well developed tank already w/ shrimps and the small fish life stuff but i just can't seem to grow moss at all. the moss ball. fell apart ruining everything. then java moss. it was a failure. it never stayed that bright green. how do you do it??

  • Sorry more questions. Mind to share if you go into the test and nutrient? Re: I am a beginner here with minimal help. Even i have to source thru internet for more detail info.

  • argentinearmas. I hd introduce 10 yamatos shrimps recommended by the outlet. The java problem was totally clean and look fresh, so does the micro sword and riccia. But, my riccia grow side way, then upwards. Not doing well i think. I saw some cuts floating. Does the yamato go to that extreme? 2nd, do you have problem with the debris? i do Water change 10 % every 2 days. 20 % every week. Is it because our filter is not strong enough? any recommention? tank 75 cm x 36cm x 34 cm.

  • Guys in need help. I am new in fresh w. plant. Setup is- no soil, all sand. Java moss tie on 2 drift wood, riccia tie on stone. with co2, and good lighting. Filter like shown on the post but slight bigger. Fans on. btw 28 - 26 c. NOW- the jawa grow nicely but i see some brown color grow on the moss, and same thing like die off in between the tie on and new shoot.

  • Roger15ohm i think you have a little problem with algae because of the brown color in the moss and between the tie like you said. I want to ask you, do you have shrimp or some other kind of algae eater in your tank? If not, then you have to put an algae eater in your tank. All the good eviroment in tank for plants to grow is also good for growing the algae.

  • BEAUTIFUL what whats the point

  • hahaha! om now i know..tnx!!

  • whats the fan for?I'm new to this hobby...

  • hahaha..it's a substitute for chiller..for a fan like those, you can push the temperature to 25-26 Celcius [in my country].

  • Tank looks sweet~~ Love the moss look~~ but the water seem a bit over filled for CRS, they might hop out by accident~~

  • Yeah lor, a few did commit suicide...

  • Have you gotten them to breed? I thought they would be more widely available by now.

  • Yeah, Got them to breed but the casuality rate is high...

  • I am planning to have a 65 watt light for a 20 gallon long tank. Would it be necessary to add C02 or not?

Plants that I will be using are Java moss and maybe a Java fern.

BTW, how did you make the carpet affect, tie the moss down?

  • I tied them with sewing thread on driftwood... Initially it does not look nice but after a while is look nice... :P

  • No need CO2 but will improve the growth of moss if induce of CO2...

  • Whats better:

    Grade A Crystal Red Shrimp

    or

    Grade S Crystal Red Shrimp

I dont get the whole grade thing

    thanks

  • I tried doing a moss tank with spikey moss but couldn't get it to grow without algae. Your tank gives me a few new idea's to try. You seem to have more light and circulation then I had. Those crystal shrimp are cool I haven't seen them in any pet shops around here.

  • cool tank any co2 on this set up? what kind of lighting?

  • No CO2 usage at all. 2 florescent tubes. With Spikey / Christmas moss. 2 Overhead Filter to increase water circulation. Using Magic / Planting Soil.
