please saying that he is from ghana. He not from ghana he is 100% from ivory coast . I know that for a fact . He is speaking Nzema which is spoken in ghana and ivory coast. I am also an Nzema from ghana. The reason why you understand some words is becauseThe Nzema people are Akans and the akan tribe is both in ghana and ivorycoast. It is the some with the Ewe of ghana and Togo. Please check the history of the Nzema people because you go giving out information. Nzema has a lot of Akan words
musically and artististically, meiway is just awesome! this sort of performance gives reason to say music is an international language. Excellent stuff.
I first heard Meiway when I visited Ivory Coat in 1990. I believe Zogblazo was the hit then. I bought the CD and played until It could'nt play any longer. I am an african but not an Ivorian but that does'nt matter. His music is universal. My seventeen year old knows a lot of his music. She's never visited africa but loves him. He is really rooted in our African culture and that is why I love about him the most. He is great.
It doesn't matter where he comes from etc., what matters is that Meiway is unleashing hit after hit of African music, don't you all agree? and to me this hit is the best of the best of Meiway. It's sweet from beginning to end. No need to quarrel just enjoy the music - African music.
plz plz plz can some tell me what is he sayin when the voice in the back returns:menswa( dk if i spelled it well)... that part is so deep man im trippin on how the music is so good lol
What you guy talk about meiway is 100% ivorian his biological father is bete which an ethny from the west of ivory coast and his mother is appolo not nzima the fact that he sing in this langage doesnt mean that is from ghana can you guy do some research before saying thing that are not relevant
U could also say meiway is very diverse singer. He sings just anything that matters to him, and he even sings in any language he chooses and he can sound like a native of it, but it does not make member of that. Meiway sang in Asante, Kroumain, English, etc. But he is still not even connected ethnically with any of those! Who cares what he is though? The man is AFRICAN.
he is an ivorian, i should know. he is apollo. usually it's those who do not know themselves culturally would say that he is something else. la cote d'iviore is very diverse.
Am sorry Lylie08 but ur researches ain't true either...just like his children's mother ..he's not bete..get in touch for more infos...to stop sayin things that ain't true..
actually Nzema's spoken in Ghana also, as well as ewe & twi. u cam hear these dialect in the song....newyz all of the african languages originated from fon language which is from Naija! we r all the same people!!!!
yes i know what you mean, his origin must be Ghana but you must understand that ivorians are originally from neighbors countries. cote d'ivore was a province it's the French who give the name ( cote 'diviore). but that does not make him him any less of an ivorian
na HE IS NZEMA (APPOLO) BORDER OF GHANA/ COTE D IVOIRE...IM HLF NZEMA AND AN EG OF OUR LANGUAGE S LIKE TWI EG....LE FLE MI (MY NAME IS) AN IN TWI ALSO WE SAY YE FRE MI ....SIMILAR
i think he's nzema (ghanaian), from elubo(on the border of ghana / ivory coast).....people from that part speak both french and english and the local dialect which is nzema. but they prefer to be called ivorian's. he's actually speaking nzema not twi

i am so proud of the fact that unlike most African avoiran popular artist, meiway is culturally awake, and knows who he is.
