ZESA lost $10m due to theft and fraud by senior personnel still managing ZESA.

The history of failures of newly liberated African countries proves over and over again that "equal representation" democracy does not work in Africa: Congo, Uganda, Mozambique, Zambia, Angola, Rwanda, Zimbabwe. South Africa is well on the track. But the West keeps sacrificing common sense in favour of political correctness. It appeared they had siphoned Z$1.5b (!!!) over the last 5 years. NocZim debt at the moment was at Z$9b and in Dec 1999 suppliers turned off the tap to NocZim, resulting in acute fuel shortages in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) inherited all this in Apr 1980, but by Feb1999 declared bankruptcy. Parliamentary inquiry reported that it was so permeated with intrigue, insubordination and corruption that its governance virtually collapsed. ZESA lost $10m due to theft and fraud by senior personnel still managing ZESA.

In 1980 Mugabe came to power as a result of rigged elections. By agreement, all guerrillas and Security Forces were to be stationed in special zones to avoid intimidation. Mugabe issued an order to guerrillas to stay and to dominate their areas. Elections supervisor reported that in 5 out of 8 districts fair conditions did not exist. Other candidates could not move in there. In one case people were forced to watch the headman having his eyes gouged out, disembowelled and dogs eating the remains.

The virus? Then why is Zim so ill after whites left? While they were there Zim did great. Maybe whites were a vaccine against a known African virus of irresponsibility and mismanagement? It was the whites who started by pitching their tent in the bush, ploughed a few acres, dug out a dam for water, planted a first crop and gradually worked upwards from there. The spades are destroying Africa! Africa is a continent full of hate, racism, prejudice, famine, disease, terrorists, death, destruction, courrupt dictators/war criminals, rapists, child killers, etc. At least when the "evil pinks" ran zimbabwe (then known as Rhodesia) the economy was one of the best in africa and probably the world for that matter. One old lady who was found in her hut was raped, and 5B then set fire to a plastic bag and burned the old lady with it, setting fire to her blanket. She died from the burns.

In 1981 Mugabe organized CIO - central intelligence organization, Zimbabwes secret police. It was created using the North Korea model and trained by North Koreans. They infiltrated clubs and bars, put taps on telephone lines and paid domestic workers to listen at doors. Anyone saying anything negative got arrested and thrown into horrible Chikuribi prison. Thats if they were lucky. Often they just disappeared. CIO ran a large crocodile farm, but they never bought any meat for the farm.

Here is how Mugabe moved around. It was a motorcade with siren-blasting motorcycle outriders, bodyguards, decoy cars and two truckloads of soldiers just dying for an excuse to use their machine guns. Everybody had to get off the road instantly, even if it meant crashing into the ditch or jumping off the bridge in case they thought a person or a car was a threat and chopped it down in a blizzard of machine gun fire. Which they would and did from time to time.

Mugabe inherited from Rhodesia excellent agriculture, diverse and working industry, one of the best education systems, efficient health care, developed network or roads and railways, mines, dams and bridges, communal infrastructure, national parks with pristine wildlife everything any other African country may only dream about. While educated and professional middle class was present in Rhodesia (and a few first years of Zimbabwe), the country was doing great. Once these people left, Zimbabwe collapsed with high fever.

Mugabe should be tried and hanged. In 1982 he started Gukurahundi - terror and murder of Ndebele people who did not want to align with ZANU. The scale of atrocities obscured Nazis: 3 FEB 1983: Mass beating of villagers and shooting of 2 young pregnant girls, followed by their being bayonetted open to reveal the still moving foetuses. 13 FEB 1983: Whole village beaten, and 7 shot dead, including a teacher, after digging their own grave. Witnesses refer to a fountain of blood from the pit.

Mugabe won 1980 elections using intimidation. His guerrillas were everywhere. Africans realized that voting for Mugabe would ensure that the war would be stopped; by voting for Muzorewa there was every chance that the war would continue. Effectively Africans voted at a gun point. Now Mugabe is in the similar situation. By voting for Mugabe Africans know that the plight would continue, by voting for MDC there is every chance of foreign investment, aid, credits and law and order. Mugabe has lost.
