I must take issue with this "birthplace of punk". 1976 is the year John Lydon (before he became Rotten w/the Pistols) met the Ramones in London. Of course all that is ancient history compared to Iggy, as he and his band clearly invented punk rock in 1969 in their classic album "The Stooges" with him singing "I Wanna be your dog" & stage-diving into the audience after slashing his chest with razor blades.

Regardless of that, 30 years of Shonen Knife & now the OSAKA RAMONES!!!! Go KNIFE!!!!!
