Im not trying to critisize your technique because you got a fire and regardless of how each person does it- if they get a fire then it works for them. I do have a question though. Why did you choose to make your bow so long? you are only infact using 1/2-1/3 of the legnth of it. Just curious as to your thoughts. Great job though! Be careful, friction fire is addicting...
Nick, im using a long straight bambo stick for my bow, this allows the tip to ride the ground yeilding a much smoother and delibrate stroke. i think a short curved bow gives a short, unorthadox, & tiresome stroke. other survival reasons too like more rope, walking stick, spear, long bow...etc & i just think its cool ;~) thanks and too late ive been a pyro all my life!!

Why not use the bow right next to your prepared fire pit instead of 20 feet away?
Lots of kindling in sight, but where is your fuel wood?
