he had a cuctom joss made when he was a junior, then he swapped just the shaft out with a schon.
then cuetec signed him but he could play still with whatever shaft he wants just wear a cuetec patch on his shirt. the shaft and the tip are the most important u can adjust to almost anything quickly as far as the butt.
@AlTarik I dont think its a disadvantage at all btw, because you cant get be distracted in pool, BTW if hes 100% deaf why does he have such an easy time answering in interviews, hes probably like 40% deaf.
Joe Swail has a really unusual flick in his cue action too, so getting to the top 16 at snooker, and two World Championship Semi Finals along the way is an incredible achievement.
yes, unorthodox cue actions can sometimes work very well. The important thing is that the player pots the balls and gets position. Easier said than done of course.
Well, to snooker players, all these cue actions are unusual! No snooker player uses the loop bridge, because you can't get as much spin on the ball, which is more important in snooker due to the bigger tables.
i seen ronnie o'sullivan use the loop bridge to break off before once or twice, but i agree. the loop bridge is very weird to me, and i can use it to save my life!
Due to the nature of the loop, often there is friction between the V and the index finger. This reduces cue speed/acceleration. This reduces the amount of backspin. Without the loop, the cue is more free to accelerate through the ball. It's also more prone to be less accurate though. The loop bridge is great for accuracy and little spin (that's why it works in pool), whereas the snooker bridge is great for power and greater spin (which is needed on the bigger tables).

What a class act. Johnny Archer who has won everything there is to win racking the balls for the match.

What happened to putting a whole match into one video? I prefer not having to click around to watch different parts.
davidklausa 3 years ago
It would at least be smoother if a link to the next part was included in the video description.

just wondering, why does a looped bridge reduce the ammount of spin?
