if you have the computer for it Empire total war is somewhat better since it's newer.But medieval 2 is only like 2 years old and it's still amazingly EPIC! like hard to define =p.I still play medieval 2 cuz my pc can't run empire but i played empire as well.i think if you're new to the series you should buy medieval 2 first =p

I find Medieval II much better than Empire

because your cavalry is useless in Empire and stuff like that and if you controll a hill in Empire. you're never gonna loose it. So Medieval II is an excellent choice

this is rather irratating i can do like 3000 people vs 3000 on medieval 2 total war on highest graphics but when i lower the graphics for smooth and better game it just stops and crashes and with kingdoms i cant even fight with more then 200vs200

you see here the first version of the game.. u see that because the units are standing like the units in the game "Rome Total War". this was just th fisrt version.. i think its very poor that they chaned it.. to this what we are all playing now .. look for exampel the demo there the units are fighting and charging more like them in this video..

I went from a ATI X1600 pro to a Nvidia 8800GT, and it made quite a difference. The only lag I see now is when you have 2 huge armies fighting, or there are reinforcements, and the speed is 6x. I wish the artillery had less bugs, that is the main thing. Even in v 1.2, there is alot of bugs throughout the game, probably going to 1.3 soon.

I liked medieval warfare better than modern warfare. Much better. You can kill and die faster, with guns, you feel the bullet burning through your flesh and the your blood starts gushing out slowly until your surroundings start blurring away. But with swords, your head gets chopped off and that's it =D what fun! =P

lol, that's relative, if you arm or leg gets chopped of you are still alive (most of the time) and when you get blown to pieces by a tank/nuke or get shot in the head by a sniper, it's much faster then getting a sword in ur neck...

Actually it's the other way around getting stabbed by a sword or spear is a very unpleasant way to go. If the initial attack doesn't kill you, and theres a good chance it won't, then you had to wait till you bled to death meanwhile you were wracked by pain. In modern times usually a well placed bullet can kill instantly and the guns are accurate enough that you can easily score a quick kill. Not to mention with guns your likely to get shot more then once which quickens your death.
