  • I also have telecaster thinline ... congratulations you have a really nice sound...

  • if he would use different settings, they would criticize thats you can't compare the guitars...

  • Got that Wonderful Fullerton California Sound

    Great Guitar

  • Some people just can't hear! All great differences in tone. I mix live sound for a living and I appreciate the differences in tone and a guitarist that can find that tone that makes the song pop. I love the Thinline and all the rest I've heard. And it looks like a Super Reverb sitting back there, one of the best sounding amps in the world. Keep on rockin!

  • realy like some of your melodic figures, you must of done a lot of listening, - bravo! - and thanx as always.

  • hey, u can't expect a big difference on guitars with a blues player always with Vibrolux Reverb and Okko Diablo, he's showing them cause is selling them

  • Lol...that poor teddy bear got hited by the mic!!!!

  • i dont know why, but i love this guitar

  • You can tell he doesn't change is overdrive setting much from video to video, But that doesn't mean each guitar doesn't sound unique. I can tell the differences in sound between the guitars he plays with the same od. It all sounds great. Keep playing!

  • love it how in each difrent guitar you notice a sepecialty in sound not all the same great

  • hi, that distortion using? is a overdrive?

    thank

  • @MarianoBastarreix the description is your friend.

  • @davidriggs1955 albert king*

  • @davidriggs1955 i have a perfect, amazing arctic white standard tele i got for 350. but i dont go for the whole squealy high pitched albert kind style overdrive i like playing with effects on clean.

  • Nice vids and lessons. Your take on the original thinline pickups and the reissues?

  • i agree with gibbie31 in general...though the ES-355 sounds divine...

  • Noobs, you need to get some ears.

  • hey man, im not trying to criticize you or your playing, which is fantastic. but im starting to notice most of your guitars sound about the same through whatever overdrive you use. you should use a different tone and play a different style though each guitar to really show what its about.

  • @gibbie31 Very true, and Greg never plays chords. It's like going to a BB King concert...

  • @BucksStudent naw bb king has limited himself to a total of 5 notes. yes thats right 5 notes.

  • @gibbie31 $67 million dollars later, I have to say they must be the right five. GRIN

  • @gibbie31 That´s true, I´ve had the same thought yesterday. You hardly hear any difference between the guitars he plays.

  • @gibbie31 - ...which shows that the sound is mostly in the hand and ears of the player

  • @gibbie31 Agreed it's a very dogmatic sound. He's a great player and created great tone, just a little too content

  • @gibbie31 true that!!! anyways.. I've heard of a saying when a guitar player let's say SRV, is going to use and grab Jimi Hendrix's gear.. he will always sound like SRV and not Jimi, even though he's using Jimi Hendrix's gears..

    anyways just saying..

GregsGuitars has his personal tone embedded to all his guitars, even if its a tele or any other guitars!

    ciao man!

    no harm intended

  • @doOoskoOo i know what your saying, but he literaly does use the same pedal amp and settings for ever video

  • Im thinking about getting something like this, how does the semi hollow aound compared to a solidbody

  • so what is the difference between single coil and humbuckers on the tele series.

  • @MrGuitarman187 same as any guitar ... more mids less ambiant noise and 60 cycle hum and a bit more output and in my opinion better looks ... its just fender uses their own pickups instead of someone elses and their humbuckers are still slightly twangy as kinda works with the fender style ... fender just adds their own touch to it but there are always some differences that appear between any single coil vs any humbucker

  • @MrGuitarman187 Tele (bridge) single coils are bright and twangy, these wide range humbuckers (magnets protrude 3 in line on opposite ends of the cover instead of 6 in line) are more les paul like... warmer and sweeter, than traditional tele pups.

  • Nice axe.

  • in the old days, the fender dual coil p.u.,s units were the same size as gibson's. the problem with off-sized p.u.'s like these is aftermarket stuff won't fit right. i have no experience with these p.u.'s, but the overall guitar quality is as good as the american made from what i'm seeing.

  • me want. but w regular single coils.

  • sounds like the doors

  • that is great tone coming out of that mexico tele!! Great technique too certainly helps! I have the 69' with the single coil and i'm not a fan of the single coils. Thinking about trading it for one of these with the humbuckers.

  • You play well!

  • @GregsGuitars how much does this piece cost?

  • i there a fender thinline in black finish? or ash or whatever it is

  • nicely played man LOVE the sound LOVE THE GUITAR... sounds so godly

  • Great sound Greg!!

wich overdrive pedal do you use? is that okko diablo?

  • sorry guys but it breaks my heart to see all of these imported guitars....can't we put pressure on this American Company to bring all of their manufacturing jobs back to America! I believe that if we as consumers demanded it then we could make a change.

Globalism sucks! I know all about the high prices of American products but you can't convince me that during this recession these are jobs that Americans wont do. We have power as consumers....we have to speak up. money talks!

  • What do you think on changing the pots to 500k?

  • @jyses Necessary in almost any mexican fender if you want to be able to secure good tones at lower volumes.

  • @jyses Definitely improved the tone in my '72 Deluxe!!

  • amazing

  • you have millions of guitars and all sounds the same LOL but sounds good...

  • @trindadedani

haha....I made the same comment on another one of his clips. I think it goes to show just how much the amp and especially your own touch/fingers have to do with tone.

  • @giantrobot9000 yeah .. i agree to .. : ) eheh

  • @trindadedani made in China that's why they sound the same lol :))

  • Greg, what should I play, what kind of shoes should I wear? How should I talk? Can we be friends?

  • hw much u gt that guitar for?

  • im holding this exact guitar in my hands......Such a shame its got no strings

  • @kitslayer1 LOL!

  • @kitslayer1 put strings on it then

  • i own the exact same guitar! the best desicion i ever made!

  • awesome feel - very melodic.

and those are some very nice guitars...especially for the money!

  • I am interested in jazz... do you recomend this guitar? i also di gigs...

  • @PippoBlues93 being an owner of the same model guitar, i say yes, espicialy if you the neck pickup on jazzy type songs, gives you a deap sound that i bet no other guitar but that one can do! hope this was helpful!

  • hi greg what do you think seriously about these guitar???? do you like the sound???? what about the sound that gives the semi hollow body???

  • @GregsGuitars how about the sustain and the sturdiness? i heard the tele '72 deluxe(which is built almost the same way with the same pickups) is a tank and sustains pretty well.. and how do you find the wide range humbuckers?

  • Very nice guitar.

  • a very good guitar with a ugly pickguard.

  • @trindadedani

    I like it.

  • @MisterRaintown lol i have one to , but mine its sunburst i buy fir 400 euros with 3 months in musicstore it custs 800 euros new lool it sounds really good for a mexican version and is the sound who it matters :P

  • Hi Gregsguitar! I've recently discovered that those wide range humbuckers can turn into two single coils and they sound even better!! ": I can switch from single coil to humbacker while playing! Interesting sound! trust me!

do you think that these humbakers are, let's say, high quality ones, or that I could find a better Seymour Duncan version of them? I ask you that because a dear friend of mine wants to buy this guitar and asked me about that. Ciao

  • @danlovesnan First of all, he may like the stock pu's. I have the same guitar and it's the only guitar of mine that still has its stock pu's. Secondly, the original 72 had CuNiFe magnets, the repro has AlNiCo. Oddly, the WR pickup is larger than the average humbuggy so standard replacements won't work without a new pick-guard. You could go try and find a vintage CuNiFe replacement (for big $) or Lollar has an aftermarket replacement, but it's AlNiCo 5 not CuNiFe.

  • @torbenl47

i see, well, on my mexico tele 72 I put a "switch" so to have both single coil (that for me sounds better) and humbacker...it still sounded a bit cold according to my ear so I replaced it with a 59 humbacker but the guitar looks funny now because that humbacker is smaller than the original one. It sounds better though, at least according to my personal taste.

  • I woulda liked to hear the pickups without the overdrive but at least i know they sound real nice with that particular overdrive. A lot of people knock those mexico pickups but i have em in my 1971 Thinline Deluxe and they sound great!!

  • @GregsGuitars DO you have and Idea where I can get that od pedal online? Tried guitar center but didnt come up in a search. Thanks and great sounds.

  • want one!!

  • I just love how you're rockin out on a fender, then there are three jealous gibsons in the background lol

  • With your skills and gear.. any cheap guitar would sound great or at least "o.k." i guess! :-)

  • Excellent. Nice demo of a nice sounding guitar at a very reasonable price.

  • How do you find the vintage style frets after playing bigger frets on other guitars?

  • Nice fat honky rude Tele tone there Greg. What's the build quality like? Sure looks a nice guitar
