  • The Druid's Brehon Laws: Ancient laws of Ireland: Senchus Mór, conclusion : being the corus bescha, or customary law and the book of Aicill (Google eBook)

  • First they took the language and the most of you just let it go. Then they took your money. (Punt) Now they are taking other aspects of our culture. When will you say enough?? Ireland for the Irish. MAKE your government responsible!!!!!!

  • Everyone is working so hard to fight the destruction of heritage sights, but has any one thought of Taking out the bastard who changed the law and got rid of Dochas? He is not Irish he is working for the new world order. MAKE your government responsible. Not with ballots.

  • Just indcredible. Unbelievable. That this is goign ahead defies belief. Tara is vital to our culture and central to key Irish historical events. If this goes ahead it will be a monunement of shame to our whole generation, a monument to ignorance, laziness and greed.

  • morons thought they could jus walk in and create a toll

  • Fuck the locals.Alot has changed since this video was made indeed the whole ROTTEN CELTIC TIGER has collapsed.Whos got a job to use the m3 for now.I bet the locals care now hahahahahahahahaha. Brilliant

  • Karma will catch up with these evil men.

  • These boys thought they could play God and destroy the sacred site., which belongs to the people of the world.

  • Tara

Ah 2012- no chance of them destroying what is deemed to be.

The Goddess is awake, so rest easy dear people.

  • Dam crusties. On with progress, fuck tara.

  • Hail and Blessings,

On Sally Morningstar's website I was shocked and horrified at the video and audio accounts of what is currently taking place in the cradle of the motherland of the Clans and Covens. These occurances are commonplace in the U.S., where wildlife reserves and national park treasures are routinely declassified as such and pillaged for petrol.

I am an ocean away, but very anxious to be of service. Please reply as to how.

    lady.relampago, Birmingham, Alabama, U.S.

  • LOL! i am with u guys 100%! the only reason i'm laughing though is that i'm also from Birmingham, Alabama! This is sad! But i think they are gonna need demonstrations a size that has not been seen since the 60's and 70's if u get my drift...

  • Welcome to the EU!

    Your new motto is,

    "PROFIT OVER PEOPLE"!

    What?

Don't you enjoy it shoved down your throats?

    EU über alles!

  • WAKE UP IRELAND the goverment are taking away our history . TARA yes its older than the pyramids.would you knock them down? SO WAKE UP IRELAND and let your voice be heard its your right don't let them take it.stop it now.

    FIGHT THE NEW WORLD ORDER

    WAKE UP

  • why are most of the ignorant fools who are anti-environment poor spellers? lol that's my heritage, my ancestors sat on that hill... fuck your rape of my children's heritage, NRA! the old ones will owe you an answer! SAVE TARA VALLEY from desecration!

  • i will fuck all them bulldozerrs up and i will take out the fucking windows with a black widow its all out war now

  • i will fuck all them bulldozerrs up and i will take out the fucking windows with a black widow its all out war now

  • It's precisely because of events in Irish history, like the 1916 rising and everything that had to do with the struggle, since the plantations, that Celtic culture sould be unearthed, studied and forever preserved.

The archaeological wealth of Tara valley is just briefly looked at while being bulldozed, when it should be preserved for generations to come to interprit and reinterprit.

  • Meanwhile, Druid sites in the UK are studied and preserved indefinitely.

It would be interesting if the Irish people could claim a culture that was apart from modern Eastern or Western notions of the world. In the UK, sites like these can be excavated, and when advanced artifacts of the Celts are unearthed there is always the insinuation of Roman influence. But the Romans didn't invade Ireland. In Ireland the amazing culture of Celtic society is undeniable.

  • Later on Roman would = Catholic. The fight for independence in Ireland was not about religion. It was about the identity of the Irish people. With Ireland in the EU would it benefit anyone if a member state embraced a heritage that could not be polarized like every other member state of the EU.

The people who rule the world today base themselves on the Roman model. I could be writing rubbish, but that's my 2 Euro cents worth.

  • why is most of the protestors non national?

because most of the local people want the road.

go home hippies and let progress take its course.

  • it is not true that most of us are not irish.

do you know that some of ppl living in the boundry of CPO were violently removed from their houses becouse they dont want to sell their land?

  • in you intro you say the motorway is going through the hill of tara it is not. how many lives have been lost on the n3 in the last six months, how many lives will be saved when this safer road is finished. roll on the m3

  • a man made culvert of late 19th century, thats not ancient, misinformation isn't gona do ur cause much good.

  • nobody agrees with this that is informed. what the fuck is going on? this road was completly predictable due to the amount of housing development.if this is not intentional, then our leaders have failed in the basic ability of planing ahead. im pissed off

  • Brilliant!

    Fuck the tree huggers!

    Non-violent protest my arse!

A few well placed snipers would get the message through!

Up the IRHPA! (Irish Republican Historical Preservation Army)

    Cheers!

  • I live beside the site, I have grown up playing on Tara hill. We all hate this but we cannot do anything, the motorway is going ahead, building has started. Its crazy but nothing we can do the ordinary people are not connected enough. Its a real shame this is happening :O(

  • SAVE IRELAND !

  • i know the guy talkin

  • That is absolutely outragous. Is Tara not a world hertitage site? and if it is does that not mean that it is protected under the UN and not the country itself. I absolutely cannot believe it, its madness saying that someone is allowed to deface any national simbol in the name of progess.

  • We have the same problem at Holyhead with a site called Trefignath on a much smaller scale but still a important site.....

A Welsh proverb "A ystyrio, cofied" Let him who reflects, REMEMBER

    Give them a good fight..

  • This is an outrageous scandal. This period of economic prosperity will be remembered for many things including this act of vandalism.

  • Gawd bless the gombeeen men of the island of scholars and late celtic tigers feeding on the last morsels of their culture.

Talk about crass, allowing the yuppies to whiz through "their" history in their Lexus on the way to Dublin and their deals.

They voted that prick Ahearn back in so I suppose the majority want the consumer trinkets of greed and capitalism as they waddle down to Starschmux for their daily fix.

    Ramirez

  • go to the world heritage trust and get help

  • If you dont where you been, who can you see your progress?

  • However I do understand your point.

  • And many places of history here in the U.S.have been destroyed just for the sake of convienience. Our Route 66 the mother highway is gone because of more roads. You can't enjoy our Rocky Mountains as they were because of guess what, more roads. The world does not need more roads.

  • Or perhaps look at the mothers and fathers taking their lives in their hands just to collect their kids from schools on the road. But then maybe that's what these objectors want - lots of beauty and history for people around the world to enjoy while the natives have to live in fear, peril and a reduced quality of life. NO THANKS. Build the motorway!

  • I spoke to local kids, teenagers & commuters.

They would prefer to see the Railway Track back in action. (this lies, disused & dismantled thru the valley - why?)

New roads do not mean safer, faster options.

Progress lies in progressive thinking and Haliburton's option does not consider this.

The bottle-neck approaching Dublin is already chaotic and the fear surrounding lack of ancestral knowledge puts our culture in peril every day.

  • Sure it would be convenient for the locals, but a heritage site doesnt belong to JUST the locals. It belongs to the world. I'm all for upgrading the existing road.. peoples homes get bulldozed in the name of progress every day. A home is not a building. Buildings can be replaced, this site cant. Do what needs to be done to preserve this site. If the government wants revenue, they should publicise this ancient site a little better and get some tourists in to visit it!

  • Others suggest moving it further from the hill. This will make the motorway redundant because people will not use it. Perhaps if these objectors were to spend 5 hours travelling every day just to get to and from work they would change their lives.

  • I'm from County Meath and live within sight of the Hill of Tara. I want the motorway. So do the vast majority of Meath people. The motorway will be further from the existing road. Objectors propose upgrading the existing road which means destroying schools, businesses and peoples homes.

  • Come to think of it,county Meath and the Hill of Tara are extremely close to Monaghan.

  • My ancestors the McMahon's once controlled the ancient Irish kingdom of Oriel around Monaghan and Armagh for 400 years. When I found out they were building a motorway through Tara it really pissed me off. I can't unfortunally be there to protest, but I signed the online petition. I'm number 30194.

  • ok... i'll spread the word and will get there if i can. have a bad leg and hip but want to peacefully demonstrate with you people as soon as i can!... didn't hear what i could do about it first time round, as shocked that they could do this to such a sacred site! like you say, they wouldn't dare do this in valley of the kings, egypt!!!

  • how can i help... please send me a message. i live in london. is there anything i can do from here?

  • As a child I remember reading the old tales of the Tuatha De Danann for which the Hill Of Tara was their capital. I know that the history and the archaeological importance can never be in question. How can they do this ? Don't they know that to destroy the land we will only destroy ourselves. The roots of Tara run deep within the earth. They know not what they do! Our past is our future.

  • i am greek but this doesn't matter...injustice knows no borders.the government must stop or be stopped.those who can do something must unite and act.if the government destroys tara and irish people vote for them again, you must destroy the system of elections.after all, history has proved that the fools and the ignogant ruled the mobs...

  • CARADOC28 they may not erect skyscrapers over rome.. or buldoze the white house.. but i hear of old ladies who refuse to sell their land having their house condemned and then thrown off.. all in the name of progress? btw.. i hear they built the city jail on that old ladies property.... it's the same everywhere.. they say its in the name of progress.. but its in the name of money

  • "Only fools rush in" - why can't they (the Government) at least wait until it is determined how important a site this is. If it's only a question of relieving the traffic pressure then surely there are many other ways of doing this that are less destructive (i.e.) laying on extra buses (also better for the environment), car pooling, taking alternative routes, etc. This is a shame!

  • it's shame to trade modernisme agains history, where is this gouverment who claim the salvation of their country when they're unable protect THE capital historic of their island. Money always money.

  • I MAY BE AMERICAN

but thats my heritage my people come from that area who knows maybe theu genetic genealogy in a couple of years i could prove that to a 4000 yrs old irishman.

only a county new to growth would not see the penalty of doing this. in 40 yrs they will look back and curse the powers at be. some things over rule national soverenty they dont erect sky scrapers over the senate in rome. they shouldnt over the place where laws were written in ireland

  • Urbanisation has no place among chronological antiquities. This is not an act of progress; it is a thirty-five mile knife straight through the heart of our history and nothing more.

  • The EU Environment Commissionner has ruled the Irish Government to be in violation of EU law.

Write, email or phone your nearest Irish embassy to make your views known.

    Look up hilloftara on MySpace

  • this is a disgrace how dare they do this in the name of money!. this is an act of cultural self destruction and MUST not be tolerated!.

  • best of luck with the protest. This is a fking outrage what they are trying to do.
