  • assuming you have feet clicking the pedal of is waaaay easier and faster and you dont have to stop playing

  • Thats my tone(:

  • Hey if you guys want to hear this pedal in context in a heavier band, go check out our page. We use it and play in drop b and we're really satisfied with how it sounds.

  • What tuning would you have to use for this pedal?

  • @andrewstack5236 I use it for E, Eb, D and Bb tunnings, works for all.

  • can it sound like scorpians or boston too? i want to be able to play hard rock and metal, with a little classical too though

  • is it good for playing raggae? omfg question! :D

  • is it better than death metal pedal??

  • Is it possible to play black metal ?

  • i wanted to buy this pedal cuz its " cheap " but now it seems like nothing for me it is " cheap " i dont got money !! damnn !! =S

  • Is this good to play lamb of god or slayer

  • Whit that pedal can I play dethmetal?

  • @xXzToxiczXx You can play death metal with any distortion pedal.

  • who else uses it as an overdrive pedal ?

  • Is it any good for playing Amon Amarth, Kalmah etc..?

  • this pedal is for 80's and 90's if you wanna play modern metal(industrial, metalcore etc)---->boss metalcore

  • Why people always buy distortion pedals, i mean, my amp has a gain and a contour button, that does the job right?

  • would this pedal sound good on a Behringer GX 210 60w ?

  • Cambias la 6 cuerda seguido no? :3

  • can it play system or slipknot?

  • @slorr55

It can definitely play SOAD, especially since Daron uses this pedal.

  • @slorr55 I dont beleive it can play anything.

  • @slorr55 Daron used it in 1997-2000 era of system and said its the best pedal for metal, so ya its awsome to play system ;D

  • @slorr55 its the only pedal Daron uses so I would say yes :D

  • This pedal its good to play Slayer?? I need an answer please!

  • @Estmetalgonz Yes if set up right

  • yes it is!especially someone who has it!especially if u want that anthrax and metallica sound also!

  • @Estmetalgonz this pedal can get any heavy sound you're looking for, i had one and thought it was crap until i took the time to really dial it in.

  • i run a mesa and a mt 2...loads of fun

  • Would this pedal be good for avenged sevenfold or bullet for my valentine stuff?

  • 0:58 blackmail the universe

  • shit

  • Which should i get metal zone or metal core

  • @bryan7551 I suggest this pedal, It can be shaped well with ,any different amps when used sorrectly.

  • @bryan7551 a metalzone is great but you need to know it well cause sometimes its a bitch to deal with

  • This is Darron Malakians pedal its great for system of a down.

  • nice sepultura and megadeth demo

  • Nice. This is a really versatile pedal, and that's why it's been around for so long. I play a lot of thrash. The amp I have right now has too much treble, so I boost the bass and hi-mids, and cut the hi's. I put the distortion to about 75%. It would sound okay at 60%, but why have all that distortion if you're not gonna use it?

This pedal also has good sustain for solos.

  • This is a Killer Pedal! All you have to do is experiment with your Axe & Rig & TRUST ME....you will find that KILLER METAL SOUND your looking for! I run this through my Peavey Bandit 112 "Teal Stripe" (Scorpion Equipped) & my Jackson Kelly KE-3 & O.M.G. it's M-E-T-A-L & BEYOND DUDES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kinda sounds like metallica's distortion when they made KILL EM, ALL

  • este suena perfecto para tocar musica blues y country , jajaj naaa im just kiddin'

hey bro, i gotta question , i was thinkin' and i wanna buy this pedal , but i heard a lot of people that says that the sound is not good at all . i got a gibson les paul and a mg marshall 15 watts , kiero tocar canciones recotra metaleras , q me dices , haber si me animo xD

  • this pedal can do whatever distortion you want if you have the patience to learn how to use it. i can get overdrive (hendrix), epic solo (van halen), metal (metallica to cannibal corpse), classic (ac dc to led zeppelin), a crispy punk sound (pennywise), classic punk (sex pistols, ramones), modern/alternative punk (green day), the only thing it cant do is like a cool chill blues setting.

  • @ElCigaroCubano yeah and if you read the instructions it's got a pretty good sounding british rock setting setup

  • You do have a lot of good articulation with you settings. Please tell me how you had you knobs set, especially the outer adjustments of the middle 2 knobs. I cannot see those in the video.

  • This pedal isn't bad when properly used and plugged into good amp. I have Rocktron Metal Planet. It has same knob layout but it's better than mt2.

  • well it's about damn time someone played some kick ass thrash riffs to demo the Metal Zone pedal. I was sick and tired of running into all these Atreyu, Avenged Sevencrap wanna be's posting vids. Anyways, I just got one and I love it!

  • Buena demostración.

Tengo un MT-2 y de verdad que me cuesta configurarlo para que suene bien. A veces logro buenas distorsiones pero el sonido carece de cuerpo. Que amplificador estas utilizando en éste demo?

  • I've been wanting to get one as my first distortion pedal. How do you set it up? Do you plug it to the amp and then plug your guitar to the pedal or what???? Please reply

  • @Soldier1287 its extremely simple!!! get two cables, plug ur guitar into the place on the pedal that says input. take the other pedal and put it in the place that says output, and plug that into your amp. make sure ur amp is on clean tone, and than adjust to your likings both on the amp, and on the pedal!!!

  • is it good for rammstein sound ?

  • I have more terrible sound, and I don't what is the problem! I think it's the amp, but ofc it can be pedal!

  • if I'm playing avenged sevenfold songs, should I use metal zone or metal core (I haven't bought either one, thts why I ask)

  • @JatexTC metalzone for sure. boost your normal dist. on your amp should sound killer.

  • eggs!!!

  • it is good for metallica??

  • @LostAngelsjk99 Unlesss you got a Mesa this is one of the mest, this video does not show the best sound of this pedal, I just wanted to show that it does not need to sound fake and screechy like most vids on youtube for it.

  • @Albee213 I'm getting this pedal tomorroww :DD

but one thing, Is there a good Fade to black tone :D?

  • @LostAngelsjk99 its a fuckin distortion pedal.

  • @LostAngelsjk99 u can easily nail the master of puppets and cowboys from hell tone with that lil' baby!

  • @rustedhero888

Yeah, I purchased one today and i'm gonna try get a tone close to CFH.

  • @LostAngelsjk99 I think they use it

  • Sounds like it's spitting razorblades, remember trying to eq them out with the four band eq. Not interested in this pedal anymore.

  • uh question can this pedal play hard rock like AC/DC?

  • @zaktan415 Mine wont play anything, is mine broken? Becuase I have ad to play everything... you know I never read the instructions...

  • @Albee213 wtf are you talking about?

  • @zaktan415 for AC/DC is good Marshall JH-1

  • @zaktan415 yeah turn the distortion down and level and set your EQs accordingly

  • @zaktan415 hey dude i don't own this pedal but you'll get a great tone to play AC/DC from a marshall valves (i use a MA 50c) the ACDC don't use any pedal only a huge volume and a littell distontion from the amp.

if you want a pedal to be cheaper you can get a boss ds-2 or ds-1 those a ligther distortion but still pretty cool to play ac dc

  • @MrSuicideMan Hey,

I think that this pedal doesn't sound very good and i could be beter spending a bit more cash on a EH Metal Muff. See ya :D

  • @zaktan415 i bought the metal muff abd has a ow volumen and poor distortion sorry :S

  • Comment removed

  • @jmartincg Metal Muff is a great pedal, you just need to have the right gear to make good use of it.

  • @zaktan415 Get a modded Pro Co Rat.

  • mt2 suck get buy ml2

  • piece of crap pedal , i have one and it sucks

  • @metalhead2theEnd Ya this pedal blows donkey nuts, it sounds like shit

  • i love this pedal i just got it today for 40 bucks used and it works very well

  • Cual se escucha mas rudo el Metal Zone Mt-2 o el Death Metal??

  • couldd you please tell me what songs you played, and what settings?

  • @jeanflorian13 uhh, mostly sepultura, desperate cry and Megadeth, blackmail the universe, devils island... the settings are all simple, turn to NOON and adjust as needed, but for the FREQ to work you must have the mid range turned up or down a little bit, at noon it does nothing.

  • how can i make it more like job for a cowboy? i don't know how to use it well yet. can you help? me ayuda?

  • @danielpb10 Huh? You want to use this pedal for country music? I think its possible but you will need to keep the treble high and the midrange high too, really for that I jsut do not know.

  • @Albee213 not for country music. for playing songs from the band "job for a cowboy". it's an awesome death metal band. check it out!

  • @Albee213 he meant for the band job for a cowboy it's a band definitely not country music lol I've heard a few ov there stuff I couldn't get into it but it's metal

  • @Albee213 Job for a Cowboy is metal, not country lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @Albee213 xD that made my day. haha job for a cowboy are def. no country music. they're some of those metalcore bands around. haha

  • @Albee213, jaja que buen chiste xD

  • @Albee213 jajhajha its deathcore... its more like deathmetal

  • @Albee213 Job for a cowboy is heavy as fuck, its not country lolz

  • @Albee213 you made a joke, right? RIGHT?!

  • @danielpb10 Just mess around with the settings. If anything, i think that the Boss ML-2 Metalcore would be better for you. I get a good death metal tone out of it.

  • @danielpb10 i siriously hope you made a joke :P

  • blackmail the universe!

  • mierda me suena a SLAYER

  • @inuassha Me atasco de una gran cantidad de Slayer para la diversión así que mi sonido puede inclinarse hacia ellos.

  • can you tell me the settings you have used?

  • @horseman863 I start with all in the middle. 45% terble, 45% bass 45% middle and 45% mid freq. with the dist at 50%. I set mine up for extreme loudness but it will matter what amp blah blah you use. I suggest you never turn the dist much past 50%.

  • @Albee213

    thanx:D

  • can you tell me the settings you have used?

  • @horseman863 I think this one, but I have not used it much for rock and roll, this pedal can make almost any sound with tweeking.

  • whats a good distortion pedal for like hard rock n roll but ALSO good for metal?

  • wich settings are u using in the pedal?

  • dude , i conected my mt 2 pedal to an adaper that wasnt a boss adapter , it had higer voltage so it fried , what can i do plase help me , im not an expert with this kinda things , , all i gotta do is change the wires , or is it far beyond repair ?????:S:S:S

    please help

  • So wat Chords are u running through? in this video the monster?

  • wich amp are u using?

  • @thehiatusprt Behringer GX212

  • if you play for your self it's just good but you cannot play with a band!too much noise and no single note comes to your ears!

  • A few bands have used these in the past aand they sound great. I need to make a new vid, but the point of this was that it can sound good, check out other vids were its too much dist and sounds fake and thin... I have used many other pedels and I think this is the best.

  • harvester of sorrow in the beginning :D

  • sounds like ass hole

  • @thaaxe Exactly. I was in the band and second guitarist used metalzone. And the sound was terrible. I had ENGL thunder, it was strongly different and better. Yes, metalzone is "OK-sounding pedal" but in this clip, it really isn't.

  • I just bought this for 50€ and it'll be delivered soon. I'm looking for extremely ultimate distortion and this pedal sounds cool. I hope this fucking rocks with my stack.

  • I would have gotten the metal core ml-2. i have it and it gives a lot more distortion and isnt as dry

  • the dry sound is basically one of the best things about this pedal, is perfect for thrash and death metal.

  • invest in some better patch chords! xD

  • @poosepooseofchicken I will not pay more for a patch cable than what the pedal costs! I have had these cables for about 9 years and they work perfectly, I got one moster cable and it sucks ass and was way too much.

  • haha, if they work for you, then that's great. I had the same patch chords, and they never lasted long for me though ...might be because I play alot of shows though :/

  • @Albee213

I agree with you. Monster cables are overpriced pieces of crap.

  • this pedal is sick. your settings are kind of whimpy here though no offense. turn the mids down, the second mid you want about halfway up, treble at about an 8 and bass all the way up, same with the distortion you want that at 100%

  • I have found that the pedal sounds better with the DIST at 50%, but remember this is at low volume and with a WEB CAM mic. If you turn up real loud is sounds well rounded. I prefer a full sound that is not scooped.

  • true i forget people use what settings they like haha. i dont ever get to play to loud cuz im usually at home practicing. so yea.

  • put more clips dude!

  • ARE U USING THE V-TONE GMX212

    ?

  • No, its just the GMX212.

  • KILLER

  • i have one there an ok pedal but quite empty theres not alot of punch they sound very thin i was thinking maybe selling mine and going for something with a bit mre beef maybe the metal core i hear that kicks the shit outta metal zones still enjoy using the Zone but maybe its time for a change laters!

  • the metal zone and metal core are different pedals. The metal zone was released in 1991(the circuit hasnt changed since), so think about what kind of music was out around then...very mid rangey, hot rodded type metal. The metal core is for the more modern, mid scooper metal types.

  • @RNRDOLL

Heh, I got mine in 1989

  • one hell of a pedal

  • it sounds great for the perfect metallica sound!!!!!!

  • @MagrPwnAge i hope your right cuz im getting it as a big metallica fan!

  • how much is that pedal?

  • @Arturohoz $100

  • is this work for dimebag stuff ??

  • I think it will work for any Thrash metal. With almost any amp, good or cheap.

  • If you are looking for a Dime tone then get the MXR DD11 Dime distortion pedal for about £110.

  • it kinda sounds like something that chimaira would do

  • What was the clean part? It sounds awesome.

  • What more are you waiting for in a <100$ stormbox? This is one of the most popular BOSS pedals and every guy starting analog playing would touch it first. IMO you can't expect the sound as good as a tube amp, but it's sound is not "terrible" like you think. Maybe you should try some Boogie or Keeley Modded for it or check out if your MT2 had some problem? Cheers.

  • sounds pretty flat and lifeless to me

  • Dude not the best demo either. What are you playing out of?

  • @polkmammoth I am using a behringer 2x12. I just wanted to know that this unit did not have to be crankted up and sound fizzy and fake, most demos have the DIST up too high and the tone sounds terrible.

  • why didnt you alter the knobs to show us different tones?

  • Didnt you see me tweak the knobs a bit? I dont know how to get other tones, just this bad ass one!!

  • well in other vids the demonstrater usually shows us all the diffrent sounds the pedal can achieve with the diffrent eq settings and things like that

  • You fuck! why didnt you max out the distortion! Thats where the parties at!!!

  • nice megadeth and metallica!!

  • I was under the impression that you knew how to use this pedal. After watching the video, I strongly disagree. For demo sakes, why did you not adjust the settings properly? Every knob at 12 o'clock? Who would actually play this pedal this way? No one.

  • I love this pedal. I only have a really old 20 watt Rogue bass amplifier, but this pedal still sounds great through it. I do agree that the distortion sounds bad if you turn it up more than about 60%.

My favorite setting I've found so far is:

    Low: 100%

High: 80% (straight to the right)

    Middle: 65% (pointing NW)

    Mid Freq: 35% (pointing NE)

It gives a bold distortion sound without being too fuzzy on my amp.

  • prefferably the black album sound?

  • how is this pedal for metallica?

  • anyone know the best pedal for playing thrash?

  • I am a true believer in this peddle. There are many out there but this one will make almost any amp kick ass. Other than that I might try the Seymour Duncan tube peddles but they are very expensive. This peddle sounds great on solid state and tube amps big or small.

  • Agreed 100%. Ive had my Metal Zone forever, since they were released i think, and was one of the best investments ive made. Since getting my MT2 ive heard and used a million different distortion pedals, none of which are anywhere near as good as the MT-2. A lot more adjustability in the metal zone, and a HUGE range. If you cant get the sound your after with the MT2 you have issues.

  • A good setting for starting out is Bass at 50%, mid between 40 - 55% trebble rolled back between 45-55% and the mid freq at 45%. If the mid range is at 50% then the freq knob will do nothing to the tone. And in my opinion never have the DIST more than 60%. It will sound fake and weak like some new-be thrasher that turns the bass and treble all the way up and the mids all the way down.

  • bass all the way up! sounds so thick and badass! i love this pedal for the clean distrtion sound. its compressed and lovely. lots of people prefer the metal muff but i think it just sounds noisy. anyone?

  • Also, I use a BOSS GT-8 for my tones but I always bring this peddle with me incase I have problems or need to use somone elses amp, you can never go wrong with this one.

  • Hey how long do the batteries last with the MT-2?
