Well, at least Bumblebee's name makes sense here. I've always wondered why G1 Bumblebee was named "Bumblebee" in the first place (Especially when he transforms into a VW Beetle.)

i gotta say:

it is quite confusing to give them a name while there in boot camp and is quite wierd.

what if for some reason the autobot ddint go to the camp and what is name before?

it is also a major plat hole since they called them according to their qualities but most of the other transformers had regular names.

this subject really pisses me off since although the story is fictional they dont try to use logic

@m197377 Well, Arcee's full "name" is Teaching Unit RC-687-040, so I assume "Arcee" became her nickname because of the phonetic sound of "RC." I take it she didn't go to boot camp, so maybe she nicknamed herself or just took the nickname given to her by a superior.

Maybe bots start out with a serial number like that and then regardless of what field they go into get named by a superior? I can't remember if Prowl actually had his name at the start of his flashbacks with Yoketron.

@Pikachuiscool It's a classic military strategy, to build cohesion and compliance. Even if you don't care about what happens to yourself by misbehaving, the others in the group will have a strong opinion, causing the group to sort of self-regulate and work together.

This is an episode of Transformers: Animated from the second season, so it's well after the three-part "movie" series pilot, which is called "Transform and Roll Out!".

This isn't Sentinel Prime's first appearance. He appeared earlier in the series, but this episode is a flashback to events that happened prior to series.

He's an Autobot officer who has the same rank as Optimus Prime (ie: they're both "Primes"). They're basically rivals.
