Does anyone have footage (or "playage") of the Concerto for Bluegrass Band and Orchestra? One of my all time favorite McClain Family Band pieces, written by Phillip Rhodes.
I used to have the lp record of this group and this song is my favorite banjo song. I have searched far and wide for years to find this cut again. Thank You! to whoever posted this. I play banjo and want to learn it so bad ,wish I could find the tab for it. This is the only group I have ever heard do this song and they wrote it too.. It is a great but obscure song. The group is phenomenal and the players are great especially the two banjo pickers. The banjo's they use have a great tone.
Oh boy!!! I was these guy's tour guide in Brazil some 20 years ago!!! AWESOME DOWN TO EARTH folks!!! And lovely Ruth!! I'm still in love with you, LOL!!!! THE BEST!!!!!!!!
Man does this take me back. First (and last) time I heard these guys was at a concert, University of Alaska Fairbanks, back in the 70's. Loved their version of Big River Bues
Hi guys greetings from Australia. I came across this style of music by watching one of our analogue channels (which stopped broadcasting a while ago) and got hooked on the ryhthm.....simply beautiful......at some stage of your carrer you guys played at some place called PBL, I think it was the name of a TV network, and you were playing with Mike stevens and he was doing the sounds of a train and you guys played a very fast tempo song....

I had the honor of living in Woodford County for four years and attended many of their concerts. It's great to find their music here.

@56Edify Ditto. We used to go to their concerts at West High School in Anchorage in the late 70s when I was a kid.
