So this is why I have really shitty surgery scars...it's like get in get out kind of deal rather than taking just an extra few minutes to do it precisely
Im A Nurse In Training And I Think That This Suturing Was Very Fast And They Didnt Take Thier Time On The Patient....Probally The Patient Had To Come Back And Get Resutured Becuase Of The Rush of Work They Did
@aaron514 I agree with you but still the work could have taken a while to approximate the edges better. They certainly did a good job but it was not exceptional.
yep. sloppy and rushed. There were many unnecessary jabs perforating to the outer dermis instead of maintaining the subcutaneous tunnel. Maybe if it were for Jesus the suturing would have gone better.
The second suture should have been closer to the corner stich. Also one needs to keep a knot outside on both ends or take a knot in the corners by having a throw on the corner stitches or else the suture will become loose.
im not even a doc,,only a fisherman ,,and i stich my friend with a small fishing hook and 6lbs test line,,,it was painfull for him,,,but i can say ,i suture beter than you ,,why is thats suture not straight,,,its must look like a vagina by now,,loll
During stitching you should have pulled the line a bit so both wound halfs would've come together in a straight way. And the distance between the stitch parts is too far. It's going to be an ugly scar, poor patient.
@akkiiscool1 He does an ok job right up until he closes. Then he pulls the sutures too tight and leaves them that way. The wound edges have too much of a pucker. It'll heal funny and scar worse. The edges should only have a slight up turn to them and be well approximated. A plastic surgeon taught me to suture facial lacerations in the army.
No, that's a subcuticular technique. It's what's used in Plastics. Horizontal mattress is very different. 1 complete suture consists of 2 entrances and 2 exits. The horizontal pertains similarity to 2 simple interrupted combined together. the subcuticular / intradermal is something that requires much more practice to attain the best cosmetical effect.
That's great, but when they remove the thread it hurts so much :'( but definitely I prefer this suture :) Great video!

@Thisistheplcetobe
Well you are a NURSE not a physician so you have no frame of reference regarding surgical suture technique.

@cynthiapendery you are not funny at all! very silly immature comment. I think the technique is acceptable and very good!

Ok, I know NOTHING about suturing but at the end when it was pulled to connect the two sides it did not look completely closed or even straight.....
eSilva101 9 months ago
that was fast and confident...bt could be better after final retraction..lil excess pull might cause a shrinkage toughness at the incision scar...

@teufelziege Definitely agree. Army trained, here, too, and I had the same thoughts as I watched him close.

Monocryl and that type of closing is the best for aesthetics. It doesn't scar like nylon sutures or have to removed. They are absorbed.
