  • also in answer to the question of the stabbing combo... i think in a game as build up as this, the more things to discover and find out and generally play around with makes a game way more interesting. I even found the things in world 2 when you tapped down lots he rocks out and when you press against a wall he goes bond style really awesome.

  • hey what if you can add a level editor so we can have more fun playing both your and our levels. thumbs up if your with me:)

  • Having more than one path to finish a level offers increased replayability to your game. If you can manage that for each level or one at least, you might double the number of plays from your previous one.

    I also think the stabing animation is fine and if players don't like it, they just have to use another attack.

  • Keep the jabbing in it's own "Rapid A" area, but edit it so that the longer you jab the faster it goes and the stronger they get, and at a certian point at the maximum time for susession of jabbing you could add a really powerful slide thrust.

  • I think you should keep the jabbing in it's own little "rapid A" place, but the longer you tap it the faster it jabs and the stronger they get, and at a certian point at the end of the jabbing there could be an insanely strong slide-thrust type thing?

  • i think u should add points 4 doing combos. Maybe u should make it so FPM get new gadgets like maybe put there a part where FPM has to hang glide of fly with a jet pack or use a car, guns! it would be pretty kewl.

    u see that's the point. brad made the games to played in whatever way you want. in world 2 for example, there were so many places to explore which players can decide to go to or they can simply run thru the lvls and beat the game quickly. if that's the way you think it should be played then by god nothing will keep you from playing it that way when it comes out.

  • Oh of course! Spoiling is never fun, yet one can never keep themselves from watching, I made that mistake with Super Smash Brothers BRAWL, I didn't want to see the characters, but I somehow forced myself to, and I sort of spoiled a great game, same for this. :P

    Know your limits dude, no need to go all out on this one, I think you added the perfect amount of "add-ons" for this installment, the levels count too. ^^

  • @robotsourus4 Well, you can either spend half a minute wailing on the spider, or 3 seconds stomping and kicking him. It's fun in an overkill sort of way, but it really makes sense to use the pencil on sworded baddies and stomp spiders and such.

  • Looks good, but, naaah... I didn't really like the level design in mirrors edge 2D - because whatever path I have chosen, I felt like I have left the others unexplored, and so I had to return and see what's there too. This was multipled by the fact that you had to collect stuff, because you couldn't just leave them there. It wasn't that much fun by the way.

    But I STRONGLY like the hidden locations, if you could just stick to that! it would be a lot cooler!

  • @rednekus I'm going to make sure that the levels are more easily navigable than ME2D, there was a bit more finding the perfect line in ME2D, but the main line wasn't as apparent as I want it to be in World 3. I know the feeling, though, I'm a bit of a completionist myself, but I would hate going back into a game to find more and not having anything left to find...

  • Is there going to be directional attacks with the pencil? Eg. slicing upwards or downwards.

    What would happen if Fancypants decided to use the eraser? :P

  • Probably not, unless I have a ton of time left over to focus on little things like that. The combat animations take forever to do, since they repeat so many times I have to make sure that they don't look awkward if you see them over and over again.

  • I love the idea of the combo and it looks pretty sick, are you thinking of adding water levels in to this because it would be pretty cool also I think there should be a portal bonus room where you get the portal gun and have to solve a puzzle to get to the end I know i'd enjoy that but its just a suggestion

  • Yeah the stab is a good edition for bosses for the most part in multi-shots & I want to see swimming & vehicles for the next video.

    It would be nice.

  • I hope theres a a power where holding the pencil attacking button while running will make fancy pants take out the pencil and run like seen in the video and when you release the button hel do a small charge depending on how long you hold it(3 secs and youl charge for 2.5 secs or so)

    this is a suggestion so please tell me if you already have something similar tought if you answer to my idea at all.

  • Hey Brad, World 3 looks amazing and I cant wait for it to come out, I just dont want you to add to many things that take the originality away from Fancy Pants, like squiqgleville and the pencil? to me they just seem like a little bit much. To me the game is mostly about the Parkour style of moving around the level, I always got a real kick outta that. But hey, thats just my 2 cents. Id just hate to see my favorite game series become less enjoyable than what I remeber from worlds 1 and 2.

  • @bmx65 I think any game is going to be about different things for different people, and I'm really trying to play up the parkour aspect with the new wall jumps and score combos, so I don't think it will feel like anything missing for you. What part about Squiggleville do you feel takes away from the original FPA, though?

  • @DrNeroCF To me, Fancy Pants was a guy that ran around, collected little swirlies. and pwned spiders. I guess I never really imagined him as having a place to live or go home to if you know what I mean. Thats why Squiggleville kind of upsets me, but believe me I am going to play the heck outta that game when it comes out. :)

  • @razorkid95 Something I've been considering, since World 1, heh. I'm following an actual plot all the way through this time, so if it makes sense, I'll add it.

  • I have a recommendation (again). Uh, I reeeally don't expect this but, what if there was an online multiplayer version, with chat :D People would be playing all the time... Then again I don't expect this anyway.

  • I'm really impressed with how smooth the wall running is, it would be very interesting to use in a game, parkour is my main style of gaming, and your "branching out" ideas are very creative, "Something someone thought of but never really got to doing."

    How many more of these "reports" before you finalize the engine for World 3?

  • @RnetTV Hmmm, maybe. I built the system with that in mind, enough people have asked about it that I'm considering it going with it. To a stick figure, though, a sword is a far worse weapon than a pencil... Maybe you drop it after a few hits? I'd have to play around with it. Good material for a later video, though.

  • I think the shell could be controlled a little better. I barely got 1 color in World 2. Maybe you could set up separate levels just for the shell golf, or set up a different system for the colors.

    one thing i really want to see in world three is some more "kick" control. i find the shell is really hard to maneuver in world 2,

    its really funny seeing all this secret stuff here because me and my friend were just complaining the other day that there wasn't enough of this kinds stuff in world 2.
