This is basically an old school short but an oscar-nominated one too. The short made it like elementary school kids made it in art class...I can see the glass bottle used for the moose's body.

yeah this was near the decline and dead years of Disney, unfortunately it wouldn't be truly revived again until the early 80's and the Disney Renaissance.

@jvfunn3000: Aardman is still a whole lot better. With morph, Wallace and Gromit and the rest of their guys. But I agree with you. Disney just has a weird feeling to it. A good feeling.

Just as rediculous as the myth it was based on... but with better music. I'm always fascinated by american culture from this timeframe and how they were reshaping and americanizing history. There was a significant push to diferentiate the US from the godless nations and to show that god must be on our side... Its actually quite fascinating to see how many of the changes from the 50s people actually atribute to the founding fathers.

Good Music, Cute animation, but the story is off a bit. They forgot to mention that God "demanded" humanity to get on the ark, not "invited". Noah wasn't in despair. He had complete peace in everything God told him to do.

Being that this is a short, I'll give them some grace (as Jesus would).. but like all Disney shorts - it usually downplays the TRUE-story. Nice try though.

I happen to love the traditional 'hand-drawn' animation better too! : )

Noah's Ark was an oscar-nominated featurette and one of my favorite bible stories. Ipmangas, guess what? I Big Ben Niemchick have news about this short. This and many other Disney oscar-winning/oscar-nominated shorts will be in a boxset together sometime to DVD soon maybe the end of this year. What-da-ya-think?
