Hey nice cover man. I m thinking about buying a presicion bass.I personally play metal but also stuff like muse or rage against the machine. Would it fit in both or in nithing at all? If not can you recommend me some basses at the same price?(Yeah, I know should go try them myself but I live in fucking GREECE!)
Hey matafluk, you're a really good bass player and your covers are fucking awesome. I'm thinking about starting to play bass myself. Do you have any tips or something?
less treble. otherwise pretty good, keep on playin. btw, i like that Pbass. is that the 50th anniversary edition? oh... and id love to have that Ric right behind you1! :)
You play it differently than any tab I've seen yet...but yours sounds more correct than the others I've seen...got a tab for this you could send to me?
Aww nice Rickenbacker man why don't you use that in this video , I know it doesn't get on well with the distortion pedal but we could live with it :P great bassing man keep it up \m/
to danbroders! Chris use pick for this song but only for chorus - for example, video from Earls Court 2004 (Absolution DVD) - you will see Chris playing his bass with pick :)
It's recorded without a pick and I've never seen him use a pick on this song. He admittedly hates using picks because they fuck up the bottom end sound.
I've definitely seen him using a pick on this song, he didn't use to but started to use it more while recording BH&R, e.g. for Knights of Cydonia, and has picked SS frequently since then.
he said it in a rolling stone interview a couple of years ago. that's where he talked about how it kills the bottom end and sounds really sucky. it's easy to do without a pick if you put in the work. you'll get better control over your playing in general and strengthen fingers for better playing technique if you avoid picks.
Becasue I want... I love them I collect them but specially BECAUSE I CAN. By the way I just bought a new one. I smell some remarkable ENVY here, if you think buying this instruments its a waste, then you are a complete twat.
dude you are pretty good. im the same way i want so many basses but i cant afford them. i only have an ibanez sr500. who is your favorite bass player? in my opinion les claypool is the best.
Les Claypool is a monster for sure, I admire a lot John Entwistle, Geddy Lee and the creativivty of Simon Gallup, he`s not fast, he`s not virtuous but he creates fantastic bass lines.
Some day and step bu step yu will have your collection mate.
@matafluk Cliff Burton ha some pretty amazing stuff. Tbh all the MetalliA bassist are/were amazing. Then there's Balzary, or as most of you know him as, Flea. It's kinda hard to pick one favourite bassist. Prehaps from all different genres yeah, but not an over all.
hey, beginner at bass here. is it just practicing or is there a way to pick strings fast? I can pick it like the bassline in this song like 5 times but then I just mess up :( Practice or anything you can improve by some simple trick?
there are no easy tricks am afraid practice practice practice all the way. although when i play it i don't pluck the strings as hard and relax the fingers when i do it. your fingers can go alot longer relaxed than being forced. if ur using plectrium then sorry i have no idea
wow - u hav so many bass guitars kl - i hav a collection of musical instruments too - but not all bases lol!! - at present i hav 3 acoustic guitars, 2 electric guitars, 1 bass guitar, 1 elec. drum kit, a korg synthesizer, a few effects pedals, a few mics, several amps and a mixer - wat effects r u using there???
My advice would just be, buy a cheap bass a small combo amp at the beggining, keep it always tuned, begin with U2 and Beatles songs that are extremely easy to play. Practice over and over and as time goes by, try different songs and buy then a better bass, amp, pedals, cables etc.
brilliant. could have lowered the tone or just played with your fingers (if you can hit those 16ths haha :P) otherwise great job 1 of the most accurate i've seen on YT :D +fav
Playing those 16ths with the fingers it`s impossible! hahahaha. At the very beggining everything is OK, but after a minute, I begin to lose the rythm with my fingers, and everything hurts!
As far as I know this bloke uses Pedula and Warwick basses, he has a Rick too and when he uses Fender he uses a Jazz Bass, but not a P... but... who knows. The Pedulas are extremely expensive. Just The Who`s John Entwistle had that one!
LOL! Thanks man. The bass is 32 years old. obvioulsy I bought it second handed. You cant imagine the smell of cigarette on the body it had the first week, It was shipped from New Orleans. I can imagine the places where it was giged. Lots of Mojo.
Someday I will ship it to you yo Australia ok? hahaha!
