I flew with Iberia from London to Sao Paulo in 2005. The LHR - MAD flight almost hit a catering truck at LHR and passengers had to pay for all snacks and beverages. The MAD-GRU flight was a modern A340 but no personal entertainment and the service was crap.
Saludos
Ah, silly child you are garl. I of course was not talking about just this aircraft but all aircraft in general. Before you respond to this, think about your future.
garlex, whatever th $%^k that means, in my line of work, you can go from riches to the poor house fast when you talk about stuff that you have no idea about. Keep this in mind unless you wish to live in a gutter.
You dont know what YOUR talking about cause the RR engines one this aircraft are NOT the weakest engines nor the cheapest. Think about what you said before you actually think you know what your talking about.
haha lol the B777-200LR/300ER variant is fitted with the GE90 engines with the highest thrust of 127 900lb with a diameter 312cm. its undisputedly the biggest
airbus makes planes with composite materials on parts that should be steel(AA 587-rudder broke off due to weak parts, Air France 447-Suspected crash due to composite parts), but these planes are lighter giving them more range, Boeing uses steel parts on important parts, resulting in fewer range. Trust me on this, my dad is an Air Force C-5 pilot and my step-dad is a Southwest pilot, they actually fly and know what goes on in the cockpit, unlike you.
If AA 587 was built with steel parts instead of composite, the design limits of the rudder would have been higher, the aircraft wouldn't have crashed and those 265 people would be alive.
As for AF 447, the official report is an educated guess. They never found the black box, and they never will. The reason they don't say it was due to weak parts is b/c they need indisputable evidence to cite the cause of the crash.
It seems as if you like to think you know everything.
From the official AA587 crash report: A substantial investigation showed no unkown difficulties in the use of compsoite materials on the tail. It is just as likely that one could cause a metal fin to break under simular circumstances.
As for AF447 the cause is unknown so any specualtion from is pure "hear say".
I dont think I know everything. I just stat facts based on good information written by Aviation experts.
In fact if anyone thinks they know everything it is yourself.
Its not that I think I know everything, I just feel like I would know more about flight and aircraft because my dad is an Air Force pilot and my step-dad is a southwest pilot, and I listen to what they say and then I double check their theory's. I know its easy for you to sit and read wikipedia and then argue, but how about you talk to someone who knows a little something about flying planes.
Yes ok you have some very good sources and influences etc.....
Everyone is entitled to an opinion and after reading official reports into AA587 (not wikipedia btw) its my opinion that it would not have mattered whether the tail used steel or compsites....
That stress on that tail wing came from air wake from a 747 that take took off mintues before AA587. AA578 was warned before take off that a 747 had taken before them and the pilots knew and was warned that they would run into air wake from that 747.
Ha, you don't know squat about airplanes. They're not made from steel, they're made from aluminum. Furthermore, composite parts have little to no bearing on range. Finally, Boeing uses composite parts as well, and the new 787 will the the world's first all composite (or nearly all composite) airliner.
You are right, planes are not made ENTIRELY out of steel, but some of the essential parts are. And composite parts do make lighter planes, which CAN produce extended range. We cant talk trash about the 787 yet because it hasnt flown yet. It might help you if actually talk to someone who knows a thing or two about aviation instead using wikipedia for your sources, dumbass.
Nope, Airbus A340 series were supposed to use IAE engines, but instead favored the CFMI-5C and the 4's on the -3xx model. The new A340-5xx/6xx use the Trent 500 I think, anyway. So yeah up until the NG A340s, they used a Franco American engine. ;D
you are right. the boeing 777 with the ge90s will out perform any rolls. to me rolls engines are overpriced like there cars...and you dont need four engines.thats a thing of the past.. the 777 is the best commercial jet ever made period and the 787 will be as nice i hope.. i would not be surprised if they dont make a single inline thrust engine for comercial jets one day. 4 engines will soon be a thing of the past. thats all they are are kerosines hogs...
how you figure. you dont need four engines to perform.. only thing i said is the ges are more powerful. sounds to me you have a complex..this is a friendly conversation.. i just think airbuses are not the quality of boeing. i have been on all of them..........
