  • oh! lets tell the enemy what we are planning on the news the terrorists just love the news like how osama loved the news report on the first world trade center bombing, when that idiot said how to take down the towers the right way...

  • @Zombiestewstudios lets face it, militarily speaking the Taliban can't do much with any information they get. If anything, announcing a campaign in a region causes most enemy combatants to leave (there are always a few suicidal ones that stay) so the actual fighting is going to be less, therefor civilian collateral damage will be less. It has worked pretty well in Operation Moshtarak so far.

  • @Ktownsend1992 ya the afghan leaders that the whole assualt is about are leaving....

  • @Zombiestewstudios yeah but those leaders are going to be targeted by, CIA S.A.D, JSOC and USSOCOM operations before the conventional operation happens. Same exact thing happened in Moshtarak. The media doesn't report/know half of the stuff going on behind the scenes.

  • @Ktownsend1992 it would still be easier if they didn't say anything to the news let alone cheaper

  • @Zombiestewstudios How would it be easier? They are avoiding having major combat. Less civilians will die this way. Let's not forget, with them knowing whats happening they are able to flee as well. We want to play this smart, this is asymmetric warfare not conventional. The last thing we want to recreate is the battle of Falujah, that would be counterproductive to our end goal. Cheaper is irrelevant when doing it one way could result in less deaths.

  • @Ktownsend1992 fine you win
