  • unforgunately Football game doesn't British got talent program therefore is in corruption business and monoply

  • Non rappresenta la musica di Lucio Dalla è solo un clown. Noi Italiani non siamo così!!!

  • I've listened to him a few more times and am convinced that in a few more years, he's going to be really great....

  • ESTA MUSICA FAZ-ME CHORAR... PARA MIM, É DAS MUSICAS MAIS BELAS DE TODOS OS TEMPOS.....

  • Great improvement since competition.......only thing, too many microphones.....I don't think he needs that many.....

  • @MrSammyscroll There might have been another group that went on before him. I doubt those were meant for him. They probably didn't have time to clear the stage or might have another group after him or something. He did great, though. :)

  • Artist like Paul Potts have introduced opera to a generation that had absolutely no interest in it. Thank you Paul.

  • @blichilde what a small minded dick you are. did I say that right how's my english.. I hope you understood me.

  • @Sutra1lx Thank you for your kind words. How polite.... I guess you teach good manners in a famous university (Yale?) . Have I understood correctly?

  • @blichilde You're more than welcome.

  • @blichilde Paul Potts technically isn't an opera singer, but he does perform numbers from operas and remarkably well. He certainly should not and could not stick to what we call "pop music" for a number of reasons:

    1) His vocal range and style certainly does not suit the pop genre.

    2) He is amazingly talented and obviously has a passion for classical works.

    etc.

Yes, I am a classically trained musician. And yes, I now attend one of the top universities in the United States. Educate yourself.

  • @zachindie Paul has done lead roles in a city amatuer opera house which he did about 7 yrs ago. I saw a video of him without microphone and without the many yrs of college training, and he is very good. I saw Paul perform live in concert shortly after BGT. and he was excellant. I saw him last Nov. Royal Albert Hall, and he sang arias outstanding, the improvement in short time is extraudinary, which shows how important training is. Your classically trained, very fair and unbiased. Best of luck.

  • @meeragrantham Ah, I did not know that he had performed in productions. Thanks for the info!

  • Such a quite humble man...but so talented.

  • @LordVomitThe2nd omg hahahahah

  • @LordVomitThe2nd hahahah

  • @bcoy1para nonce

  • es cuestion de tiempo y preparacion y llegara a ser , uno de los grandes

  • Ah Paul just beautiful. You're every working man's opera singer. What a gift to us.

  • considering that Paul did this performance outside in November is a great accomplishment as the cold weatherl ikely didn't help his singing voice. Agreat job Paul never the less.

  • stubbyguy.

I said Paul sang operatic arias.

These so called opera experts will have studied opera singing up to 10 yrs.

Paul is not professional here, and he sings far better than above, Oct. in Nottingham was when I heard him.

The pro. opera singers of about 20 yrs I have heard, I did not like as much as Paul.

Paul wants to travel world singing classical music, and he is doing just that, and his great instrument is being tuned up.

Can the supposed opera experts say why opera not popular

  • Remember, He is standing in the middel of the Street. Not the best place to sing an opera. He is a great singer!!

  • Beautiful voice, beautiful person. God Bless.

  • This guy's the real deal and will get better and better

  • Nossa! Melhor até que o Lucio Dalla. OuW! Better than Lucio Dalla!

  • People might pick on him now, but as a professional singer I can say that this guy has an AMAZING instrument - and in ten years' time, all those haters are going to be eating their words. He's only in his early 30's! His voice will get better and better and BETTER.. :P

  • Amazing instument indeed.

Saw him Friday night, as he is doing continuous UK and World tours.

The voice from just 1 years ago so improved, and amazing then.

He san operatic mostly, and never missed any of high notes, several in one song.

The power and sweetness of voice I have not experienced in most big names.

Paul is a very special talent few are born with.

Better and BETTER he has got.

    Few ever better.

  • Why do people have to be such haters?? Can't we just be happy that his dream has come true? Don't we all wish our dreams would? Can't wait to get his next CD....

  • I don't care if Paul has a perfect voice or not...he touches my heart in a way that other's don't and I wish him nothing but the best. Did I buy his first CD as soon as it was out? Youbetcha!!!!

  • viva lucio dalla!

  • yep

  • bloomingdales????? too bad for PAUL to perform at the open stage, you cant fell the POWER of his ANGELIC VOICE!!!!

  • Very nice vocal... too bad bloomingdales , couldnt come up with better stage , which is disturbing as it is, and just sad to look at it, while listening to such great music. Some people just does not have good taste ...oh well.

  • jsgirl154: Study what? Let's hear you sing! I'm a professional bassist and a pretty damn good singer myself. Sure, he could get better, every musician can, but to say that it "hurts to listen to" is just nonsense.

  • and its the crapy camra recording the preformence is propebly a litil better

  • Not quite as good as pavarotti, but this guy definitely has a bunch of talent, and I continue to be surprised of what he is capable of. I believe he has a great future ahead of him.

  • amazing i love it

  • What did i say?

  • Hey Guys, let everyone be.

Actually fho55 is quite right. PP has a voice, but little technique and musicality. It's fascinating, what this amateur's done, but try Charles Castronovo, Juan Diego Flores, Villazon, Ramon Vargas, etc. etc. Then you can compare and listen to what you like.

  • @bobsopera Obviously you have no clue what the essence of art is.

  • I like the idea of American Idol as a means of making money. It is good to have a program to bring us beautiful music. But where are the parents? Where are the teachers? Where are the mentors willing to take young kids with potential and inculcate them to become the very best. Without an American Idol. He's alright but there is a void in opera left by Pavarotti.

  • qklq

    What does dillitent mean.

Guess I'm as ignorant as you.

  • qklq42

Paul Potts one of best tenors alive now, go see him when he comes to your country.

You also remarked about Pavarott not singing Caruso well.

They both sound amazing to me, you soung arrogant and disgusting.

  • I thik you really got the point he needs more time to become such a great singer but he ´s getting better and better and perhaps anytime his name stands next to pavarottis if anybody else is compared with the greatest Tenors

    (sorry my englich is terrible^^)

  • @BigD1st "I thik you really got the point he needs more time to become such a great singer but he ´s getting better and better "

You make the same mistake that most people make; singing is not just about having the best technique, singing and art in general is about the emotional impact on others. Potts has that gift,a gift that VERY few of the ones that do have a perfect technique don't have.

  • La interpretacion vocal del Potts es magnifica y todo cuanto entona suena de maravilla.

  • k lindo este tio me enamora.... ka neta si ^^.

  • the pronounce is funny but i appreciate it

  • kinda like your sex right madisonelectronic?

  • Sing Beautifully and Paul is of course a great opera singer and that is no doubt of it. If put more passion and emotion on this song then it would become perfect. Anyway great job.

  • Well done paul you deserve all the best in the future.

  • Listen too this video

    watch?v=Rl86-TnJiKU

Is a young tenor of Perú that has not studies of music. He sells radios and cellulars at store of electronic appliances

  • good stuff

  • Forze tu sei cossi bravo a cantare in Inglese, almeno Lui a imparatto la tua lengua, vero?. Sentiti orgoglioso che qualcuno voglia imparare qualcosa che tu gia sai.

  • ben detto

  • You are fantastic man!! I love this music and you did it so well!! All the best.

  • fho55, I checked out your profile. You're 42 and from SWITZERLAND! Who are you to be picking on a nice guy like Paul Potts. Sure, he isn't Pavarotti. That's fine, but he is talented and because we are not as snobbish as yourself, we enjoy listening to his music. Why don't you just follow the Swiss theory on life and be neutral on the subject? Prick!

  • Paul is great!!

Watch also LAWRENCE GRAY singing this lovely song. Lawrence has an amazing voice and gives an incredible interpretation of this masterpiece.

    .

  • One of my pet theories about life is that there's no such thing as 'natural talent', anyone can achive high levels of skill with enough desire, instruction, and practice...Paul Potts is one of the few human beings to ever make me doubt that theory....

  • Best thing he did on that first album of his.

Almost all songs (including this unfortuanately) were muscially/arranged exactly the same as Il Divo's, which of course is a cop out. He deserved at least his own workings of the songs shoved onto his album.

The worst thing about his latest album is that it's all in one language. Otherwise it's leaps and bounds ahead of the first. I recommend it!

  • reeally reeally awesome!!!!

    I enjoy watching this video!!!!!!!!

  • Paul rocks, but could someone breifly explain the story commenters keep mentioning about him...

Paul should have never sold phones!! He was born to rock an opera house!

  • To fho55: Not all the world has access to Opera Houses and performances by famous opera stars. We do know what touches our hearts. Don't weep for us because there is so much lovely music available to us. We can listen to CDs or watch Videos and decide for ourselves. I have bought one of his CDs and enjoy it. Mr. Potts has a beautiful voice, and whether he sings in an opera house or not depends on how well he does at the audition doesn't it? And this is free publicity for your operas.

  • He conveys a lot of emotions, that is what he does and what makes people like him. Although I am very suspicious about the type of TV program that brought him to fame but I don't think he is poor singer. I doubt he will sing in the big opera houses...and luckily, Nessun dorma was not the first opera aria I heard ;-)

  • Good god could you convey any more arrogance?

  • people like yourself are the reason that people like Paul Potts are as rich and famous as they are, all you do is alienate the breast of society from Opera Houses.- no wonder they are always empty.

People like Paul Potts have and has one thing you will never have and that is SOUL. people are unconsiously aware of that and nobody likes a snob or a snot.

that said , what the fuck are you doing watching THIS video if your standards are so far superiour to the average low class little people SNOT.

  • Well said poosaypirate.

But the one your talking of has gone on so many sites to say the same thing.

    Paul has a wonderful voice.

I wonder if he has bothered to go to one of his concerts.

Like the opera people, Paul is improving with time.

  • Haha... Jealousy...

He doesn't get invited all over the world for nothing man... He touches people (including experts and non opera fans!). So who are you man! :s mr expert...

  • le deseo suerte

  • He has the voice of an angel.

  • I think Paul should perform at La Scala opera house in Milan.

  • click if paul's great

    h t t p : / / sanjesucristo . elbruto . es

  • He definitely comes across best in live appearances. For some reason YouTube clips is the perfect vehicle for conveying his voice. The CD recordings appear too polished and held back.

With confidence I predict more personality, every wish for a bright future away from the phone store.

  • Have you heard him sing lately.

New CD out now in states

    "Passione"

"La Prima Volta" so powerful and emotional, breathtaking.

  • Bravo!! ma non dimentichiamo l'Autore di Caruso....il Grande Lucio Dalla....

  • caruso es una preciosa canción y lo interpreta magistralmente paul potts

  • caruso is a really gay word but he sings sic

  • its the fucking name of the greatest tenor to ever have lived

  • im sorry irs been a long time since i commented on this vid.. what did i say lol

  • Hermoso!,,, Congratulations, Beautiful voice,,,,

  • che bello.. veramente.. sei l'unico!

  • Beautiful!

  • Have you heard him sing

    La Prima Volta

on his new CD out now in states called

    Passione

It is the best I have ever heard, the emotion and improvement in Paul Potts voice is unbelievable.

  • I'm so glad you did this song - one of my favorites...and you've got such a talent and such a good spirit....

  • all i can say is wow. speechless

  • Bellisimo!! Bravo!!

  • dont mis this song save america only on utube save america from rocopera!!

  • good song

  • Wow I'm not one for this type of music but bravo to him he sounds wonderful heck I'm even considering to buy his album and I usually lean more to hard rock music lol!

  • wish i could read it. Buy a dictionary!

  • I ask you - how often does a singer make you weep?

  • Too bad there are only 5 stars!!!!

  • Paul Potts new CD

    Passione

    is now out in states.

    La Prima Volta

    is incredible.

Pauls voice on this new CD is second to none out there alive today.

The mans raw talent has been developed of recent, and this CD makes me weep, his voice so soothing.

  • it is true beware of your closet and expect the unexpected!!!

  • he moves me...

  • It's being a nice start for him. He's not so experient as much of those singers you're comparing him to. I look forward to see him getting more and more experience and improving his technique.

  • HONOR ET GLORIA for you. Bravo!

  • RONALDO!

  • Paul Potts does not sing plain lyrics. He knows what he is saying and also knows Italian because he has spent some time there for singing lessons. I perceive that his feelings are very strong here......

  • ti voooglio bene assaiiii!!!

  • Bloomingdale's had the great honor of having Paul Potts ! Never the other way around.

  • He has an amazing voice, however let's say that Italian songs are not his "forte"

  • omg you're so dumb for saying that...

i'm not even comment on what you said.

just do some research and try to find out what type of song put him where he is right now...

    lol...

    what an idiot.

  • The way you just wrote it underlines a virtue distructive behaviour that you have within you. Maybe you will want to consider switching that.

I know what song he sang. He got 100% on voice, not on the song.

He's version of Caruso does not show much emotion because of the fact that Italian is not his 1st language. Therefore, he does not feel what he sais, he just sings lyrics. Try to listen to Caruso by L.Dalla and see his emotion when he sings it.

  • He has an amazing voice and the UK should be proud of him. I hope someday I will see him besides other great tenors in Venice.

  • " He has an amazing voice, however let's say that Italian songs are not his "forte" " "

thank you for explaining to me about my destructive behavior...I promise I won't go around destroying everything...sigh lol

read your first comment and you ll see why I responded that way to your comment.

You made a dumb comment at first, without explaining why you felt that way.

  • But whatever, the guy is at the top atm

bad or not, he is there...and I thank God he didn't cross the path of idiots like you to criticize him that way.

    He sure doesn't deserve it.

  • he will someday

  • i truly believe that this guy can work his way up to opera house standard soon enough..listen to this man....incredible

  • Waw i love this song. Your love for italian lyric makes me proud, little great man ^^

  • He is humble, unassuming and talented, with an understanding that he can improve where he needs to. I am sure he would be the first to admit that he has a lot to learn. let me know when your video is up on You tube, i will be interested to hear your Italian pronunciation.

  • Whether his voice is perfect or not is not the point. He has a great voice and has more chance now than ever to improve on it. Let's get real, the guy was stuck selling mobile phones and has this amazing voice. So what if his Italian pronunciation is not perfect, the guy is bloody Welsh ffs. I would be ecstatic if i could sing so poorly. Give the man his dues and be supportive, it is always easier to find fault than to praise.

  • great song from Lucio Dalla Caruso! But a little bit of the case next time Paul Potts allright? ;)

    ceya

  • you snobish (opera folk) atr so up your own arse give the man some credit! idiots

  • he should improve his italian pronunciation

  • shut up idioto

  • blah blah blah

  • msuement

There is nothing now wrong with his vibrato.

    Probably now had some training.

Pauls new CD shows off his excellent talent.

    phivosi

    You and your agreeable friend!

Pauls awesome talent is now being developed.

Go to see him live in one of his record classical concerts 2009 then judge.

    Are you two opera singers?

  • Paul Potts, Leona Lewis and now Susan Boyle. Britain does have talent!!!

  • 3 people! its infested with talent

  • funny. Then let me tell you something i dont see any video of you singing caruso, carmen or a famous opera

he has a fantastic voice that its going to open LOTS of doors to him, but its true that he has to improve a little his italian pronunciation but thats not the point

  • If this guy beat bocelli at his own work.....we might forget about tuscany

  • that will deinitely never happen

  • I think he has improved too, but he has a vibrato (tremolo in his voice).

  • Well....I'm Italian...And I Can Say His Italian Version is Very Gd! ;)

  • he's great but listen to the vocal training pavarotti has when he sings Nessun Dorma, it's just vibrantly brilliant

  • so fookin' g00d

  • Omg, this guy is soooooooooo great!!! I can't even imagine how he will sound in a professional environment!

Go Paul! I love you! I love your voice, your looks, your humble personality!

  • veryy good

  • Paul Potts is humble enough to admit that he's not up to opera house standard. He's been continuing with singing lessons since he won the talent contest in 2007 and if you hear him live now on TV, he has more depth, modulation and control than you hear here (on a cold night outside in NYC).

I bet that StreetLegal and all the rest of the snipers, every single one, would sound like a broken drill compared to Potts. Nor, I bet, do they have the backbone to try and prove me wrong on YT.
