  • This is one of my fav Diru song, very nice quality video. I loved it

  • This makes me cry.

    Die and Kaoru's perfect guitar.

    Shinya's beautiful drums.

    Toshiya's touching bass.

And Kyo. He gives another meaning to god.

    <3 Diru <3

  • They've changed so much.

Or maybe "grown" is a better word.

Because even if I do miss this, what they are now is "this" plus another decade of experience.

    Long live Dir en Grey.

  • I love this song! ♥♥

  • I really miss these times, I miss the old days, I miss my youth, I miss being well. I miss sitting in my room alone listening to Macabre on full blast lol At least I'll always have the memories. Great vid..

  • Temón.

  • loco seko tochiba¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

dir en grey en chile proxxx se biene

  • De la ptm !! XD

  • and to think angels like this actually exist. there may be hope for this world after all, i surely hope there are other people that can find such a perfect and passionate way to convey such beautiful messages and feelings.

  • This song <3

  • Bámulatosh....gyönyörű..

    Kireina!

..(felfújtam a rágót ésh mosht rágósh szájjal éneklek...)lol

  • @HaraReiraYuri69

    Chanom te naggyon állat!!(L)

    Gyönyörű dal... szeressem(L)

  • It almost doesn't look over a decade old its such great quality

  • dies so awesome

  • The part where Kyo shushed the audience made me smile a little ^^ As always, they perform as good in live versions.

  • 4:20 - 4:26

    Beautifulest voice

  • @PELLAXKYO lol beautifulest

  • its funny how people can notice ones every little mess up. i would like to see half the people who do that sing in front of thousands of people and sing absoletely perfect

  • I can't help but cry every time I listen to this song.

    It's amazing.

  • same here <3 Its too beautiful

  • can you imagine singing the same song over and over?

its reasonable to tweak it a little...

  • Wait...this is pretty good..even though it's from Dir en grey's earlyer years it's great...! They r great now and they were great back than! ANy one agree! Thanks 4 uploading!

  • They played it two nights ago.

  • Comment removed

  • I wasn't there. haha

And they played it again for their 9/1 show.

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT?!

  • I wish I was there! How amazing would that have been?!!

  • Comment removed

  • kyo said in an interview in 2008 that he was not impressed with this show at osaka jo hall and when they were going to play their again in 2008 he planned to take his 'revenge'. do you guys know what he means?

  • It's quite common saying that they'd take 'revenge'. They usually just mean that they will try and make it REALLY good, heat it up more, shake the hall in its base and have everyone go mad :3

Don't think of them going on stage with guns and shooting everyone down, lol.

  • he shushed them? hahahaha! i wonder what he's telling them right in the beginning

  • did kyo shush the crowd in the beggining ? xD

  • thats what i was thinking too xD funny none the less

  • This song makes me think of warm, gentle summer days sitting on a hill under a tall tree with a special someone then of love and heartbreak. Very touching and reminiscent.

  • i wish i was born earlier so i could see their concerts in their early years. i love their older albums so much. not that theyre newer songs are bad, its just that they're being influenced by american bands too much i think.

  • is it true that the singer cutts himself in live shows?

  • Comment removed

  • my fave dir en grey song..hard to believe this was 10 yrs ago tho..

  • Once again, you just go around to Diru videos to talk shit about. Get a life or just end yours.

  • Man you're evil..

  • yeah out point is get out of here with your racial comments, end your life, this band aint even fucking emo. man up and accept that theres things in japan you wont like but you cant do anything about it.

  • so your saying your emo yourself?

    retard..

so your saying soldiers are emo because their out there protecting and killing the enemy for us?

emo is short for emotional..nothing else

but assholes like you created a stereotype for it.

you completely contradicted yourself..about the a bomb..just serously stfu.

  • Scum

  • troll

  • What the hell you talking about buddy?

  • you know that america knew about the pearl harbor bombing before it was going to happen, they just needed a large group of "martyrs" to come up with a reason to use the abomb.. plus if you dont like their music, then simply avoid and dont listen to it. and its not emo...its visual kei. get your shit right and keep your prejudice to yourself. you filthy, ignorant american scum.

  • Kaoru & Die's Hair Are So Spikey.

    I Swear,

You Could Stab Someone In The Eye

If You Were Walking Around Tokyo

    With That Kind a Hair.

Anyone Know How To Get Your Hair Like That?

I Feel Like Stabbing Someone In The Eye.

    xD

  • I song is amazing.

No other words to describe it.

  • i love this song... it´s so fucking great !!!

  • 9 minutes of deep impressions oO rly ashhhhhhh.....

  • This song is completely epic. This older stuff is 100 times better than the new material.

  • VISUAL Dir en grey is the BEST. They're new stuff is good too, but it cannot beat their old stuff.

  • i think it's a bit of a shame they don't play these old songs live any more.

can't wait to see them next week.

    ~bcb_.

  • How could anybody not love them??!!!

  • best song by them ever.

  • Umm... for those who are wondering what shizuka means, it means "quiet".

    *listen at 0:07*

  • Favorite song by my favorite band. <3

I love love love Kyo in this concert. He was just so cute!

  • KYO IS SOOO CUTE!!!! ..

like his style, hair and.ALL .. he is so sexy and pretty cool!! .. love him!! <3 : D xD

  • dir en grey =DDD

i live in louisiana and this band is fucken awsome!!!!!!

  • i.l0v3.thiz.vid30.xioxixoxioxixoxixoixoxoi

  • dir en grey are there own genre

  • I think I said in the beginning that I didn't want to argue. lol I've read many of your comments around JRock and pretty much figured there was nothing I could say that you wouldn't jump on. lol

Peace, AnCafeSucks. Seriously. lol I'm not a fighter. GFW

  • ...unless we're talking about the murder of Kurt Cobain...

If you say it was suicide, then I may fight you.

    ;D lol

  • I have friends around the world...and many who are performers. I'm expressing my opinion based on my conversations with them.

    And:

Blistering: Originally you guys were part of the visual kei movement in Japan. Would that be comparable to U.S. glam rock? What did the movement bring to the music scene?

Kaoru: When we were growing up around [the] late '80s and early '90s, visual kei was influenced by glam music.

You can find the article. And if there's one, there's another.

    Peace out. GFW

  • You do know many cultures around the world love all things from the US, right? Including our music. Google Pink Floyd Japan. You'll find a link back to YouTube with one band that's been highly influenced by US music...

And now I'm curious...Did you read somewhere that Dir en grey wasn't into American music?

It is the dream of most foreign bands to be able to perform in the US. Why wouldn't they want to know our likes and dislikes?

  • PS...The US = more people, more record sales, more money (a young English performer/friend of mine told me). :0)

  • Why do you doubt Dir en grey's heard of Floyd?

Tetsu of The GazettE has said one of his favorite albums is Nevermind. (Something I wouldn't have guessed...although I'm a Kurt Cobain fan and think everyone should know who NIRVANA is...)

That's all. I don't want to argue with you, but I don't think it's fair to assume what someone else has/not heard.

    Peace out. GFW

  • Though it would seem that all of these bands are very known in Japan, they aren't. Let's just say American, English, etc. bands are known in Japan like how Dir en grey is known in America.

Kaoru is really the only one who has been interested in American music and he wasn't always interested in it. I guess he listens to some of the crap in America :\

  • one of mi fave diru songs =]

kyo looked and sounded beautiful <3

  • Beautiful.

I wish I was in Akuro no Oka.

  • there is no `emo` in japan

just in the US/ i hate tht word -_-

  • Great Song!

As for the discussion of Floyd versus Diru underneath:

The two chords in the beginning do sound the same, but overall, the two songs create a completely different mood in the listener.

So thanks for pointing out the similarity, but it's not that surprising to find two songs that use two of the same chords.

  • *shiku shiku* i wish i was there!!! i want the osaka jo hall dvd T-T

  • *shiku shiku* i wish i was there!!! i want the osaka jo hall dvd T-T

  • Shut up. "emo" is just a word, imagine these guys withought their hair or or make-up. then youll realize their just being honest about some situations. its called "poetry" not "emo" bighappyhomlessdude.

  • EMO BANDS???????????????????? hey, seriously, you need to shut the fuck up. dont make all us know that you are a complete imbecile, have some self-respect, please :)

this "emo" fucking idiot scene, didnt were the one who first talked about inner feelings, i mean, even some fucking country cowbow would sing the same, that makes him "emo"???

    THINK PEOPLE, COME ON!! Ù_ú

  • I didnt understand any of what he said either..

But anyway, bands rip each other off all the time. And, this isn't an emo band, its a japanese style called Visual Kei, it's quite popular over there..

Can't diss em because they have different styles to us. Honestly i'd prefer it if all the emo kids around here looked like that. At least you can tell these dudes appart

  • You seriously call that stealing? using two of the same chords? dont you know that every pattern of using chords have already been done? I didnt know that playing two ordinary chords would be called stealing. And besides, the songs are completely different.

  • haha "go eat some glue retard"... well thats a sentance!,

    Btw

Peter Doherty = Wrting on his Walls in Blood... Would you call him Emo?.

As Far as im Concerned, "Emo" Is just a Word that is used only by Shallow Teenage Cripples.

I cant Belive some Children or Adults have to be In fear of being assimilated into a Group Everytime they Just happened to have a curtain haristyle and just happened to talk about there feelings... Soo umm.. i think that makes you the reatard ^_^

  • reatard eh? is that like a retard?

wtF does peter doherty have to do with anything!?

as far as IM concerned, i dont care what you think about the word emo.

trust me, i have absolutely no fear of being assimilated into a "group" of overpriveleged, melodramatic, fool children who have never experienced war or famine (or any of humanities real plagues) to the point that they make up these little dreary problems to gain attention. suck it trabeck.

    oh yea, uh ^_^ douche.

  • omg i love the begining with kyo talking

  • I wish I could be in a band and tell all my crazy screaming fans to shut up at the begining of a slow song. lol.

  • The blitz version is vastly superior to this... even though this still is very good, of course.

  • the last line where he yells still sends shivers down my spine

  • is it just a coincidence that the manga im working on's main character is named Akuro? before i even heard this song??

  • There So Better Live then on the Recorded ver.

I think Kyo's Voice Sounds Much More Free, And For some Reason the WHole Track JUst Sounds Better Live

  • Toshiya's solo is amazing. So beautiful. Not to mention the dreadlocks are perfect <3

His fingers look spidery on the neck of the base. It's awesome..

  • Thank you for sharing this beautiful version.

  • I love this song, and live.

This song makes me cry, so beautiful lyrics, and Kyo's voice is so touching.

Kyo and Dir en grey are like life, can't live without them.

  • LOL @ 00:08...SHHHH SHUT UP :p

  • Such emotion...

It brings joy to my ears!

  • dies hair is love

  • omg...great acoustic arrangement by die

  • The way Kyo ends this song is absolutely magnificent!!!!!!!!

  • i totally agree wif u

  • Yeah, dir en grey just owns.I can't wait for 4.11 when I see them live <3

  • What's the Translation of the songs name?

  • "The Hill of Acropolis."

  • When I die and go to heaven, this is what it will be like... btw Toshiya's solo... fucking sweet!!!

  • beautiful performance

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!

  • Ah, Die is beautiful with an acoustic guitar <33 And it seems that Kyo sings with more passion later on in their career, or maybe it's just me?

Either way, this live is awesome =] And I like the background screen thingy.

  • so beautiful..

    -LokiHeart

  • plzzz everyone that thinks that dir en grey is the best band in the world, vote for them at jabramusic . com

  • Kyo was soooooo gooooood in the visual kei days... AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

  • wow, when dir en grey was visual kei they sing so beautifully... now that hes always screamin his voice is unfortunately gettin worse T_T

  • the method of screaming is highly complex and isnt actually screaming, but a compression of air making it raspy in the throat

to be exact its the opposite of screaming as its rather quiet compared to shouting, Kyo sure as hell still has his voice but Diru seems to be losing touch with Japanese style and has gone into mainstream "screamo"

  • Actually, Kyo's voice is better than ever. It's just gotten deeper as he's gotten older. And raspier, thanks to the cigarettes.

  • i didn't know, until i read somewhere that said he was only like 5'3 >.<

the bat on the mic stand, from far, i thought kyo was wearing a skirt thing 0.o lol

does anyone know why do the japanese fans do like a dance thing? kinda, like they do something with their hands and arms.

  • I think I know what you mean, I saw that concert on veho. Same place perhaps different date? Second, I saw that too at a Luna Sea live vid. it's a concert thing I think...

  • no one thought he was a lil rude?

  • thought who was rude?

  • Kyo basically told the crowd to 'shut up'

  • I could have sworn in the beginning he said "Shizuka ni..." which I believe means "Be Quiet" (He was being polite)

  • He did say that....

  • he did *nods*

  • Well I would want the crowd to shut up if they were screaming like crazy...

though I think he said it politely...

  • Really really good. Thank you for uploading!

  • Not to mention :: You know, Toshiya at this time is around 22 or 23 years old. And he's already great at bass O_o;;

  • Toshiya in this song, proves his bass skills by a lot =_=;;

    He's too awesome.

The background of this live is nice too.

  • Yeah he really is great, I play bass too but i stopped when i was learning this song because of the killer solo . . . :P

  • Aww D: -supports-

  • Amen to that! He's number #1 in my book

  • what is the bassakkort to this song? :O

  • Ho ho. They are all still in their VK form. :D

  • kyo cracks me up! shhh...shut up...listen

    i love kyo he's amazing!

  • shizukani kiitekudasai excellent you make me know a new thing today xD

  • yep me too, benkyou ni natta...

  • What did he say is "shh, etto shuzukani, shizukani kiitekudasai". It means "well, please listen quietly".

  • kyo looks so damn good <3

  • I'm not a big Dir En Grey fan, but this is fucbdhsabdhsabdhbsausaking amazing.

  • Great song one of my favorites. I love to hear that song when I'm alone. The entire song is beautiful.

  • this is awesome but kyo is a bit off

  • La lleva este tema es mi favorito

  • ahh VK Diru at its best! =D

  • I'm on my knees, Do you wanna marry me? Please, say YES because right now I love you. I love the "osaka jo hall" live preformance of dir en grey. I even like Die (hell he look so hot), I love Kao and his Ganessa, I love Kyo (and his gloves) and his beautiful amazing voice, I love my Totchi and his solo.... I need more of this, more of this beautiful days!

  • wow...I didn't realized how much i miss the old days until...i see this live o.o

    *cries* ;-;

  • what do you mean by the old day? O.o?

  • like...early Dir en grey days??

  • good times, good times.

  • what did Kyo said in the beginning??

  • Something I couldn't decipher, though the last words were "Akuro no Oka". So he was just introducing the song.

  • He says, "SHH! um..This next song, this next song is Akuro No Oka." He studerred.

  • I think he was telling them to be quiet.

  • All I heard was 'shizuka ni (something something; I couldn't hear it.), Akuro no Oka'. Bascially telling his fans to shut up and introducing the next song.

  • i miss those days too =[

  • Wow O.O

That was beautiful. I miss those days...
