The one problem no one addresses is what happens to children with special needs or behavioral problems? These private and charter school can choose which students they will take. That will obviously the test results and also make it easier for teachers to teach. Public schools accept all children and that ultimately affect the classrooms.
@handiemom You are wrong Charter schools cannot choose which ones they take. By law they take everyone who applies and if there are too many then they pick students randomly. Public schools and chartered schools have the same ration of special needs children.
The IMPACT evaluations are BIASED and lead to FAVORITISM ! Mean-spirited and UNFAIR!
The majority of the teachers fired were OLDER, BLACK WOMEN who had a vested interest in the community. They were fully credentialled and had years of experience.
They were replaced with YOUNG, WHITE, inexperienced kids who were temporary "slumming" through the ghetto.

Hey, if you think you're qualified to evaluate teachers, then, you should be able to teach, right?
You wanna know what else is crazy? The public isn't allowed to see the proposed teacher contracts before the Board votes for it. The public doesn't get to suggest changes, speak their opinion, suggest addtions...that ability is taken from the public! We have Teacher retirees and spouses of teachers on Boards. It is as if the PUBLIC is kept OUT on purpose so they can create a perfect world for THEM, not the kids. The public doesn't even know all the Committees that exist let alone participat

If he REALLY CARED about the kids, he would DONATE all PROCEEDS from this MOVIE to the CHILDREN! He would PAY their TUITION for a PRIVATE SCHOOL?
That is if any PRIVATE SCHOOL will accept them? Most private schools are very selective on who they accept in their schools.
Blaming the TEACHERS is akin to a FAT LADY blaming her WEIGHT WATCHER'S counselor!
Kids don't pay attention and don't do their homework! Then, wonder why they fail? Duh?

@MsJanetWood is the movie blaming teachers or the teachers unions?
