I have been riding bikes 24 years Japanes, English and Italian. The past 6 years on Harly's. When I pull up at the lights I'm happy to see another motorcyclest. I don't give a fuck what they are riding. When you car drivers pull up in a Hyundi do you diss a guy in a Toyota ?

Am I the only person who sees most of it as being a larger statement about riders in general and not just about Harley riders? I happen to ride an HD, but almost all of my friends ride metrics. It's personal preference. We're riders, one and the same. Two wheels and no cage. Riding in general is about freedom and being stronger than the cager about to run you down because they're on their cellphone.

Never knew about motorcycles. Did not understand what all was about. Until last month when at the age of 38 I bought my first motorcycle. Brand new Harley Nightster. Some way, some how, my spirit and body chill. May sound cheesy for some. But I can not explain the euphoria and sensation that I being feeling since then. Enjoy it when you can. Live is short.

I believe the bike that best defines you is the one you build yourself, under your own tree. In the mean time, ride what makes you feel good. Riding is a feeling and a belief, but for me it's not easy to define with words. I think every rider knows it when they get on their machine and get away from all the mess on "that" road, you know the one. It's truly one of life's greatest pleasures and also the fact that no two bikes have to be alike. So much variety. It's endless. It's our roots.

I've been a provider more than half my life. I lived by the books, raised my kids and did my best to give them an idea of what life is all about. Now it's time for me. I got my bike two years ago. I got my license last year... I learned on my Harley. I don't live to ride but when I do my mind is focused fear and crystal clear.
I'm loving life and still alive at 65.

That's because it is a bike in demand, wanted by other riders and non-riders alike. When have you ever seen outpooring of public support like that for any other machine? How many other manufacturer's machines are given to police, fire, military folks as a token of esteem and respect?

I don't care what anyone else says about Harleys. I love the wind and the road and the view and the mountains and the rivers and the small gas stations with a homemade burger in the middle of nowhere. I love the roar and the rumble of my bike. I like it loud and raucous when riding with others. I like riding along far from home on some back road through the desert or through the mountains or along the ocean. What else gets 500,000 to show up for an event? NO ONE! Case closed.

Am I the only person who sees most of it as being a larger statement about riders in general and not just about Harley riders? I happen to ride an HD, but almost all of my friends ride metrics. It's personal preference. We're riders, one and the same. Two wheels and no cage. Riding in general is about freedom and being stronger than the cager about to run you down because they're on their cellphone.
The people spouting negativity on either side of the argument need to grow up.

Personally if we are gonna survive as a sport and a way of life, we can't go attacking each other based on the type of bike. When you join the AMA, do they ask you if you ride a sportbike or a cruiser? Not when I joined.
What we ride is not important, what is important is that we look out for each other as riders. I ride a naked bike and enjoy every minute of it. Enjoy the ride, not just what you ride on.

If i could afford a HD... yeah for sure I'd love to have one, at the moment i have a metric cruiser. As it stands now HD has very good quality controls and is a fine machine next to none in the cruser marketplace.
There is lots of hype regarding sterotypes, my friends who ride HD's don't cut me down that bad.
