  • If Tigers were human that would be the result.

  • the blue gi doesnt mean anything...just a color

  • love this sport, because you can pull on the clause, you are not naked its just a real streetfight..tih is like mma but this is more fun for me i think because you can pull on the shirt pants

  • I would like for MMA to allow the wearing of the Gi! Some of the guys in this video are pretty good. It wouldn't hurt them to tighten their boxing up abit though. As for the UFC it was originally started by the Gracie's so they could show case their BJJ. They sold it to the Ferrite's after being shut down. They had to change the rules in order to get MMA legalised again in America!

  • This is wonderful. So much more true to life with the gi, witch allows so many more techniques than no-gi mma. This is like the old styles of jujitsu from the Edo Period and the Sengoku Jidai.

HOW DO WE GET THIS ON TV?

  • We need to make our own fighting league with gi and no gi fighting like the old school UFC

  • i wanted to learn jujitsu but my local school and the only one near me doesnt do any sparring which i think sucks, is it still worth learning even without sparring?

  • Comment removed

  • @tyebo87 yes and no... the only way to get better and learn faster is mat time and experience... u need to roll and apply the theory u learn and put it all together...it is weird that they would teach it but doesnt do any rolling... if not then just buy mats and get people together and start rolling safely. oss.

  • beautiful takedown at 1:20

  • What makes this so different to mma besides that fact they are wearing gi's and aren't in a cage or ring

  • @Darbzznc one major difference is small joint manipulation, that is not allowed in mma, but in reality sport jujitsu isn't much different from mma

  • this is so legit. if the ufc wernt a cock sucking-vicarious fuck fest this would be on payper view not a bunch of tatooed afliction club monkeys. the "problem" with gi is that all the couchpotato wanna be homos cant stroke it to the tatted up man meat you see on ultimate fighter.

  • Stop at 4:59 and he would've broke his spine if he didn't turn.

  • i like how this song matches with the fight.

  • looks like MMA to me, not simply "just" Jujitsu. Since when did Jujitsu lay claim on any and all MMA? What, cause Jujitsu's a solid tool? With that said great video I enjoyed it.

    5*

    peace

  • Many MMA contests don't require gi's. This appears to be a full contact Jujitsu (Brazilian Jujitsu?) tournament (gi's and fighting style support this).

Not quite sure in what manner you're using the word "tool", but many of the MMA fighters train in Jujitsu, Judo, or Brazilian Jujitsu (with Brazilian Jujitsu seeming to be a very popular choice due to its focus on ground fighting) because they're very effective in fights.

  • I practice daito ryu aikijiujitus myself, and I can tell you everything you see here is part of jiu jitsu. and correct me if i'm wrong, but wasnt mma created as a response to the gracies winning the first ufc's with bjj?

bjj being judo, and judo being an element of jiu jitsu, you could say that mma is an attempted copy of jiu jitsu

I would at least say its more than a solid tool.

    great video

  • I've seen the video several times now, and I find it really pleasant to watch. Nice music, good sequence of clips and of course the clips themselves; fine skills and nice techniques. If you ask me much more pleasant to watch than UFC and Pride. Mostly because of the gi and because these guys are not pumped-up muscles machines, but just the guy from the corner with excellent skills. In addition, I like the judo/jiu jitsu take-downs and throws. Very nice!

  • They want MMA to be the new big thing, this is basicly the same only in a GI.

The should show this on eurosport, but keep the kick-boxing.

They should olso make, Jujitsu, MMA, and Muay Thai, an olimpic sport.

  • i think they should be showing this on eurosport not kickboxing. i do both but dis is my fav

  • @3:12 Is it me or does the move look mistakingly like a rice bail throw?!

Been doing Japanese Jujitsu for 1 year and a half now, absolutely love it :D, and definitly agree mikeusurper, its effective when someone tries to attack you. Absolutely love it!!

    :D happy days!!!

  • Traditional Jiu Jitsu is more stand up focussed encompassing more traditional karta, locks, take-downs and the like; restraints and leads, standing chokes and incapacitation with or without strikes. Groundwork is also covered, most definitely. Whereas BJJ is predominantly but not exclusively focussed on groundwork. I found for street and pub/club applications, traditional jiu jitsu was more effective, combined with some basic win tsun and you're ready.

  • blue gi's are traditionally used by the judokans, so he may have a background in judo.

  • Why some of them have blue gi's?

  • Why not? Anyways, it makes it easier to tell guys apart especially if you're not closer to the mat.

  • @Seir by mat u mean tatami

  • Basically, it's personal preference. Usually, Blue or White is offered when you want to buy one. (I believe my instructor has both)

  • is nothink more then MMA In Poland we practice it in gi on amateur level.

  • it sure is jiujitsu. its called traditional jiu-jitsu, you are perhaps thinking of brazilian JJ?

  • isnt jiujitsu the portuges way of spelling it ie. bjj its jujitsu is it not?

  • Afaik jiu-jitsu and jujitsu are words for the same thing. But i can't give you a clear answer on that one sorry.

  • huge video, great soundtrack.

  • Sweet dude

  • Uhmmm la música está de la chingada el video está bien

  • looks like mma to me. good stuff.

  • couz it is, but in gi ;)

  • i bet none of those guyz listen to linkin park ;)

    Peace and luv artists ^^

  • alot of good techniques standing and on the ground

  • I love the vid. What is the first song?

  • Goood. Real jiu jitsu was a maner to kill somone.

  • It's all Good !!!

  • Really nice video!

I'd like to go to Poland to practise, it looks like you guys knows what you're doing!

please check out Roskilde Budo Klub

  • No wonder the Olympic don't allow it.

  • the olympics are only the sports. martial arts is the way to kill, so they are not allowed actually.

  • Yea, and that's why boxing "isn't" an Olympic sport.

  • i cant find much ART in this fights :/ its so fu*** brutal

  • As the saying goes. I may not know art, but I know what I like!!!

  • i agree bulaluhanoel

  • I disagree.

  • this stuff, is an amataur competion, and its better than most of the shit i see in professional tournaments, the poles are tough, bardzo dobra

  • some devastating technique there

  • Better then UFC

  • yup. because ufc is dominated by brazilian crapjitsu. boring lame crap. this is much better and more parctical for delf defense.

  • Actually, lamer, a number of clubs participating in the tournament and in the video are BJJ clubs.

  • grappling is exciting?(YAWN...) grappling videos are the only matches they show in bjj. boring and not suitable for the street IMHO. the ground is the last place i want to be in a fight (you can get stomped, kicked, knifed, etc.)

  • Too bad, because a lot of times you don't get to decide where the fight ends. Before you decide that BJJ isn't appropriate for streetfighting try training yourself before you decide what really is appropriate for the street. I train in both BJJ and Boxing, and I can tell you, standup striking will fare no better when facing more than one opponent.

  • it fares no better? i'm not sure. experience tells me that punching and moving (blocking, dodging, pushing) gives you a better chance if you got more than one opponent. grappling? well i havent tried it.

  • Oh no wonder, you have zero experience with grappling. Your ass is assuming that the grappler will drop common sense in a street fight against multiple opponents and try to actually take down someone in a multiple opponent scenario and that the standup striker is the only one who will block, dodge, shove, and try to get the hell out of there in the first place.

  • well, you see there are no bjj gyms in my country, i only base on what i see the gracies do. its automatic takedown whenever they fight. people around here dont like grappling either. they throw a lot of haymakers but no takedowns. when they trip, its a race back up to their feet and whoever gets up first starts stomping, but still no grappling. only little kids fight on the ground.

  • "only little kids fight on the ground." Too bad the rest of the world doesn't think so. No BJJ gyms in the Philippines? And the only people who still think that have no real experience in actual fighting.

Do a Google search for "BJJ Philippines" and you'll see otherwise. Stop making the rest of us Filipinos look bad.

  • oh l., my mistake. too bad its located a thousand kilometers aay.

  • wait a second. how can striking not be any better than grappling in a fight vs. 2?

  • Because unless you have the power to knockout one person really fast with one strike, once you have your attention on one person, it leaves you open to get grabbed and taken down or hit from behind or from a blind spot. Even the Escrima schools here downplay the idea of attacking multiple opponents without any weapons.

  • Wow, this brings back memories. Dad got me into Jujitsu when I was 13 and I gained my Black Belt when I was 20. Unlike WWF, this is real, nothing rehearsed or choreographed here.

  • wow the kick at 1:54.... devastating

  • powerful stuff.

  • Outstanding!

  • Excellent! More?

  • could enyone tell me the name of the first song?

  • Monster Magnet - Powertrip

  • Outstanding - nice to see more of the kicks that are taught in our art as well as the throws and joint locks.

  • NICE!

  • I really like this video.

Does anybody the names of the songs that were played?

    @Goemon80

can you tell me what nihonkenpo is? when i first read this i thought this two words don't match with eachother because from what i know kenpo/kempo is the word for martial arts from okinawa which where influenced by chinese and nihon is mainisland japan and not the ryukyu islands? maybe i'm wrong so please tell me.

  • Nihonkenpo was made in Kansai region and is mixed martial arts with protectors. You can fight with karate, judo, etc. It is too hard to spread, but Japanese soldiers must practice it in JSDF. That's having all Japanese martial arts essences.

  • Hi goemon,

so it's a modern martial art?

  • Yes, it's not so old. But Nihonkenpo is officially admitted in Japan because it is the martial art in JSDF too.

  • kick ass! Tylko Polska!

  • look at these warriors..now u know why Poland is so powerful

  • In Poland - if you attacked - you have to defend yourself against 5 or 6 oponents so... weapon is better ;)

My myself was training bjj gracie and vale tudo.

    Video kick ass.

  • Wow, it looks like Sakuraba or Silva! I was surprised Polish are practicing Jujutsu. In Japan, we have no dojo of Jujutsu only. I'm practicing Okinawan Karate and it is only dojo that can teach also Jujutsu and weapons like Nunchaku, Tonfa, etc. But it is only a basic. If you want to be the real figher, you must practice in Daidojuku or Nihonkenpo, the hardest martial arts in Japan.

  • that was decent

  • in poland is hard to get high at any kind of fihting sports so even on small turnament like this in bytom (if we match it to karate turnaments) is full of no bad fighters

  • MAD! looks crazy..i'm actually doing kickboxing but jujitsu does look very applicable and techical to self-defence..great vid
