My 37" MTR's throw WAY more mud than that...this must be weird dry mud. Mind you, it looks like you're in 4low which is not good for mud, tires cant spin mud off that slow.
Uh, try using 4L on the transfer case you dipstick. Then lay off the throttle. What do expect when your truck is full of mexicans who won't help push! If a Taco Bell was around they would push for food!!!!
maybe if you took out the 9.68 gears in the axles and took it out of 4 low you might be able to spin the tires fast enough... r u tryin to mud or pull a navy destroyer
Try airing them down, they are more mud terrains than many ive seen besides swampers, and bfg's. Soft rubber, durable sidewall, mt/r's should do better than that. Once again, you need to air down.. my bfg a/ts could do better than that when aired down.
Those tires look toasted to me, I see no tread. Did you guy's get ripped off or just use these tires for the 5th season? Between not knowing how to drive, bald tires, and a SUV in the mud with this combination would explain it.
tires cant clean themselves if you dont spin the tires fast enough to throw the mud off. i dont have mt on my jeep but goodyr wrangler A/Ts and they were caked bad with mud but the maintain traction cause i left it in 4hi in mainly in 1st gear and i crawled through some very deep shit. ironically i had to help my friends 2wd ford with maxxis mudder buckshots tires get out cause he got stuck and his tires where caked bad too but he had a v6 that couldnt spin the tires fast enough to clean
From the looks, the tires were simply over inflated for what you were trying to do (I bet you had at least 25 psi on the tires, whereas you should've been around 15.)
i blame the driver and im not a big fan of the truck but i agree i hate the look of the mtr and they dont seem very good the old mud terrains look so much better but in my experience not so great in certain types of snow
Are good tires .. but aren't made for our mud .. that works down here are chains .. even if you have boggers or TSL .. you can check my other vids .. they don't lie
Agreed. I've got MT/R's on my Rubicon and have never, ever, been stuck. In this vid, I'd say the vehicle is the weak link. Hard to judge a tire on a vehicle with open differentials.
@C0MPUTER101 You must not go wheelin much, Ive got a 06 rubi on 35s "bogger rear tsl's front" and every time I go wheelin I pull out the winch AT LEAST twice..........Ride windrock in tn
Also got a 98 XJ on 33s "6.5in rock krawler long arm" ARB's front and rear, MT/R's....Gets stuck all the time
I have a 1995 Dodge Ram w/ the 37" Goodyear MT/R's and it gets me just about anywhere I want to go. You probably had no tread on them or its just your donkey driving skills
like what, a domestic that will break down if you look at it funny?? I would rather have a Toyota Landcruiser or any Toyota for that matter than have a shitty truck that breaks all the time!!
@CANDigB hey dumb ass the last truck that i had we put over 300,000 miles on and it never broke down once someone else owns it now and it is still running and it went through a lot worse stuff than is in this video
@alexadams1212 Well this is just poor driving, But all I'm saying is that there is a reason why you see Toyota's driving across Africa/Siberia/Antarctica and the North Pole and those domestic trucks aren't in the picture!! A Toyota is just like an AK47 you can abuse the shit out of them and they just keep coming back for more! thats why the taliban use both, THEY DON'T BREAK DOWN!! Oh and 300 000 miles.... try 500-1 000 000 Miles on a Toyota!
dude do you just have a problem with saying that American made trucks will take everything that you throw at them and keep going. i am not saying that Toyota's are not good they are but so are all the domestic trucks saying that they fall apart is just stupid
Sure they will take everything you throw at them, I was just responding to a previous comment about the Land Cruiser being a shitty truck, It is not, there is a reason why they are relied on around the world to go where nothing else will go. And as far as reliability between domestic and import vehicles, the numbers speak for them self, look at the reports in the annual Consumer Reports magazine and what has come out on top for the last umpteen years.......TOYOTA!!! Thats all I'm going to say!!
@CANDigB lol toyota? I can bet you, that Toyota Engineers will mostly agree that the SR5 back in the day would out perform any Land Cruiser, their Heavy, Wide, and ridiculously long. not worth the count when it comes to the woods--
I think you may be thinking about it backwards. In 4-high, first gear, the wheels will spin faster than they would in 4 -low first gear. Same for the rest of the gears. So, your statement should be reversed. If it can't clean them in 4 HIGH, it won't in 4 LOW!
OMFG, too funny, I was doing a search for the new kevlars and came across this. Holy crap dude, you need to air down and learn how to drive. Don't blame the tires for that idiocy.
If MT/R's aren't mud terrain tires, what would you class them as? If you were simply trying to explain that the "M" doesn't stand for mud, fine, you are correct. But, to say they aren't mud terrain tires is incorrect. How good they perform in mud depends on a number of variables.
In this case, I would have to say the rig was definitely lacking as it appears to have open differentials. If it had lockers, he would have spent less time in that mud hole. Being the owner of a 2006 Jeep Rubicon, I can attest to the difference having locking differentials makes in the capability of one's rig.
