i love it! and by the way, if anyone wondered, i am a chair-enthusiast and have a chair collection at home. have you seen the scene in harry potter with the chair in a big bunch? i loved that scene! its so brilliant! and recently i have gotten a love for wheelchairs! the way they just roll so swiftly on whatever ground! i love that to. i need more wheelchairs for my collection. any good suggestions?
omg i totally love this. i mean its not like i can put the chair together by hand, i mean, everyone needs a robotic self healing chair! i mean all my chairs just collapses like that, but they cant put itself together again. and i loooveed the video, i mean, i really raped the replay button. i could not get enough of this video!
I would not call this self healing, since it is not broken but merely unassembled. Therefore, this should be called a self-assembling robot, not a self-healing one.
@produKtNZ lol well i would see where i could be useful i need one in my classes for this girl you know what lets not go into this u know what i mean already :D
technology is very complicated in every way posible (other than your imagenation) I say this brings us closer to the future anything better than yesterday is a closer future. KEEP BUILDIN MORE IDEAS PEOPLE *thumbs up*
A lot of you are missing the main point of this. The point is that something like this is possible, whether its a chair, sofa, or washing machine. It's the idea that our everyday household objects might one day be able to repair themselves. And definitely don't knock anything robotic until you've tried to design one yourself.
So if i use it on my wood floors it scrapes, and if i use it on my carpet it probably doesn't work, and if i'm wealthy enough to buy this, i probably don't have a tiled floor in my dining room.
@DrSunshineAOD So regardless of whether I could build it or not, I still have my own fucking chair that doesn't cost a ton of money and it doesn't fall apart just so it can rebuild itself.
@DrSunshineAOD That's completely irrelevant. Someone could make some super high-tech machine that cost millions of dollars to make, and hundreds of hours to plan, and thousands of men to construct, and in the end it just spewed liquified shit everywhere, and hell no, I couldn't make one of those. But in the end, I've got my own asshole that didn't cost millions of dollars to make, and I can spew liquified shit whenever I want to.
It also won't be able to "fix" itself if it falls down the stairs and can't get up. So it needs help, therefore it defeats the purpose of having it fix itself.
@RRtoiPPiotRR it isn't useless! americans are fatasses so of course they will sit on this chair and break it this way though it won't break! (other than that reason however you are right about it being useless. I think it's more for show than help). (AKA just talk not work)
What a great robot chair. I wonder what kind of sensors it uses to locate its parts. If you have a moment check out my channel and let me know what you think.
this is not a self healing chair,,its a falls apart and goes back together chair,i take a leg and break it in half and the chair will not be able to heal itself will it.and to break a chair is not to take it apart without breaking it and putting it back together!
@Pyrotechnican Think for a second on your commentary,,,, If the purpose of the chair was to fix the problem of weak breaking chairs, it'd only be useful if those chair break exactly in the joints that are capable of reassemble by themselves -_-'. It's an art piece with no utilitary value, and a nice work from the engineering POV
I lol'd at how fuckin' retarded this was. How bored were these scientists to actually say in their heads, "LETS MAKE A CHAIR THAT CAN FIX ITSELF DURRRRRRRRRP." Who's this designed for? Fat people? Even then, they'd be rolling around on their back for about 30 minutes before the chair could rebuild itself.
I for one am a skeptic. There is no evidence WHATSOEVER that chairs exist. It was debunked. This is a total scam. The maker's a con artist. It's amazing what people will actually do just to convince others about what's real.
Poeple stop trolling or saying it's so slow what's the point? Listen, the future doesn't start out fast, maybe 20 or so years from now they will create faster robots and vehicles but in the mean time, STOP trolling the future and be patient!
I think you retards are missing the whole point to this project. It's not that people are going to own self repairing chairs in the future, it's the fact that the technology can figure out to build itself. Kind of a, look what we can do thing. The actual application for this technology is somewhere else.lol
Great, now the chair is gonna go make some''buddies''and they're gonna take over the world together and none of them can die because we made them to repair themselves
@PedroMonzu The advancement is not the chair, or even the fact that it fixes itself. The advancement is the software used to make it do it. They just use a chair because, as you yourself said, it's a simple concept. They are most likely funded by industrial and the advancements that come out of the research that led to the software is what leads to the next generation of the welders you see in factories, or even modern robotic surgical equipment now in use.
@Jdudeo I don't think this is about chairs, per se. I'm just speculating, but imagine if we send a robotic device to, say, Mars, and something breaks. If it were capable of repairing itself, it would save considerable time and money, and allow the mission to be completed.
