  • A Black man crying at the funeral of a confederate is like a Jew crying at the funeral of a Nazi. I'm glad they are dead. I am glad the south lost. If it was up to me their bodies would be in a sewer somewhere.

  • @gjhamilt

The Confederates were not fighting over slavery specifically, The fight was over the Federal authority over a States sovereign rights. We are a Republic of States and those states can decide their own laws, as long as its not prohibited by the US Constitution. And slavery was not included... probably should have been. Your comment on their bodies being in the sewer is beyond despicable, and almost unbelievable. They were just soldiers doing their duty, just like the Union boys.

  • @kens97sto171 Let me clarify. Whoever fought and died wearing Confederate uniforms that was caucasian....I am glad they are dead. Their death helped the north to win and helped free my ancestors from slavery. Any Black man who wore the uniform was obviously brainwashed/forced/ignorant/lied to. You have to remember the Confederates like to keep Blacks illiterate and uneducated. But any white man who died....I would have no problem tap dancing on their graves. Good riddance. God Bless America!

  • @gjhamilt WOW!!! you clearly are in idiot..... Maybe you should take yer racist ass somewhere else... These men were fighting for rights as well. You know nothing of what you speak of and clearly an idiot!!!! There were black Confederate soldiers too! they didn't fight for slavery but to be free from the government laws... So before you open yer stupid fat mouth do some homework. You know whats really funny? I'd laugh so so hard if you had relitives who fought for the South.

  • RIP to the Crue of the CSS Hunley

  • Wow, you're a prime example of racism against white people. According to you, racism against black people is still happening today, yet you say the result of the Union cause was black freedom. Not only that; you feel no shame in calling whites "cruel people" when we fought the Civil War to free blacks as you put it, or didn't.... I'm confused what you're position is.

  • venomtrumpet2000 there is no shame in maintaining our herritage. This is an incredible find. By the end of the Civil War the advances in naval warfare had made other countries fleets obsolete. Does this not deserve a place in the museum?

Slavery was a major factor of the Civil War but a bigger factor was state rights. Do you really think the North was fighting for slaves? No, most northerners were still racist, and opposed slavery for economic and political reasons. LEARN SOME HISTORY!

  • your heritage??, thats like a german youth telling a Jew he is proud of the German Army and all that they did in ww2...the Hunley is my Buchanwald and my Autchwitz. I dont care what the North was fighting for all I know is that the end result of their fight was the freedom of human beings and Gen Sherman wrote many times in his journal that he was burned the south because they refused to free the slaves. y dont you fess up and let it go, I know its all hard to accept but u are cruel people

  • Are you saying evidence of the Holocaust shouldn't be preserved, but forgotten? That is something I will never do. If you can't find anything beneficial in spending money to preserve history, then at least look to the Hunley as a symbol of what America shouldn't be; divided, and with slaves. Like I said before, there is no shame in preserving our heritage, because those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

  • We are cruel people? LOL!! For Christ shake man! Take a gander at the news tonight on the tv in YOUR area. I dont care where you live..it dosent matter...your people are cutting, shooting, stealing. all over the place. I really dont thinkl that you have any right what so ever to trash ANY other race of people on earth. We would LOVE to leave you! Remember. we are held in this Union at gunpoint. You need to help free us! Please vote for Texas Secession!! You can have this countryu!!

  • vernontrumpet2000 , not only are you an ass but you are an uninformed ass.

I shall go with your analogy to WWII. Some of my family died in Hitler's ovens, some 80% of my people died to his insanity. I am a Gypsy, not a Jew.

You are vastly ignorant. The SS are the ones who were involved in the concentration camps. The Wehrmacht were the average German soldier. They did not even know what the SS did. They were soldiers, that is it, and I have no problem with them.

    Cont'd.

  • The soldiers of the Confederacy were soldiers. The Wehrmacht were soldiers. The Alliance forces in WWII were soldiers. The Union soldiers were... soldiers. They all faught for what they thought was right.

    That. Is. It.

    Learn your history.

  • sherman burned the south to break the will of the southern people. The last slave to walk the streets of richmond virginia, was owned by someone from the north.. Maybe you have heard of him..Ullyses S Grant? Research the draft riots in New York in 1863, Then tell me how much the northerners love you.

  • @mpd613 I think the northerners wanted the slaves for cheap labor as machine age was growing and they wanted more able bodies for manufacturing. I don't think they gave a damn about them as a people.

  • how did they get the harness underneath the vessel

  • The vessel was burried in dirt. to get the harness under the vessel, they started digging it out from the bow. They dug out all the dirt around the bow, and slipped the harness underneath. They kept digging and putting on more harnesses until the whole thing was uncovered.

  • We think Clive is great too. He's lived the adventure and he's paid his dues. He spent 20 yrs searching for hunley. We've worked with him for nearly 6 yrs. Check out "Sea Hunters" Vol II for some great adventures in shipwreck searching

    JBD

  • Clive is actually my fav author.I think its great that he found this and other wrecks.

To find a civil war sub-hell yeah!

  • trumpet dude annoying

  • @POOPS1996 Damn right !!

  • Fag.

  • The old man in the red Hawaiian shirt is Clive Cussler; the Canadian diver, writer and wreck hunter, who found the Hunley and also wrote "Raise the Titanic" in the 1970s

  • GOD BLESS THOSE BRAVE BRAVE MEN

    God Bless the Confederacy
