I really enjoyed singing this song when I was in high school. I hope everyone who sang this song enjoyed this as much as I did. I can't believe the audience was so rude. I would have said something to them. In all the years I have been singing I have never seen anyone be so rude. I think the parents need to take a class on how to sit there and enjoy this beautiful music there kids are producing.

Sorry to disappoint you. While it is pronounced "Dee ray tone" on paper, in choral music it shouldn't be. It choirs, the vowels must be pure and pleasing to the ear. Thats why Annie would never sing in a choir.

I am french and I am in the choir and I am singing that song....saying diraton is not the same thing as dirait-on, indeed the"rai" part has to be said lightly to give a more musical aspect...I think i get your pouint though...being french I pronounce the "rai" more lightly than english speakers. "ray" in english has more power than "rai" in french...definitely got your point. :)
