  • Why do people change but the music means the same whoever they become.

  • When you lose love, through absolutely no fault of your own, it's an awfuly lonely feeling.

  • The good memories of this song and my teenage years in Milwaukee and Houston. A real gem from one of the greatest singing groups ever.

  • RonyMexico... You are so right!!! Tom Jones (mid to late 60's) and Levi Stubs probably were our greatest pop vocalists of the 20th century... Their vocal dynamics, range and presence were incomparable!!! 2 vocal Gods!!!

  • And not canned either, no lip syncing here.

  • All tops & temps fans pm me so we can talk about the bands & band members!!!...

  • What else can you say - Levi was that voice that you can only measure others against - Probably not fair toask if anyone today can sing like that as there is no music like that to sing - Ialso agree that itis like angels singing - RPI Levi ...

  • makes me cry like a baby fantastic!!!

  • What a great post!!! And... although the sound quality is terrible (not your doing, but rather the original 45 year old source) listen to how amazing this sound is.... can you imagine today's pop music 45 years from now played in this exact same quality...... I can't either... There's NO comparison....... This music is TIMELESS!!!!!!!

  • It's too bad this is an abbreviated version. I could listen to this song many, many times and never tire of it.

  • Does anyone know what TV show this performance was done on?

  • The Four tops were heavily influenced by the great Billy Eckstein. You definitely can hear it in Bro. Levi's voice.

  • @bromancollins You ever hear Eckstein's version of this classic? Not bad at all. He was on Motown for a few years.

  • I feel angels were with these brothers

This is truely 100 proof aged in soul

I listened to all over and over My soul is healed when I hear these magnificent magnetic harmonies

Blessed Brothers may your greatest pain be a sweat ecstasy

    thank you

  • His midtenor voice was outstadning like the falsetto sopran of Eddie James Kendricks. Both had so much power behind there voices but also pure soul. Levi touched my heart and soul with this song, when I was a boy of only 10. Now I'm 57 and it is like before. I can hear no one of his songs without being touched the same way, what a great feeling I can say, it's mine...and this as a whitie...Now he touches my children the same way with his heritage. What more I can say? Thanks and RIP

  • Legendary voice - one talent you won't see again. These songs are so memorable. Makes you feel sad and happy at the same time.

  • The Four Tops...with Levi Stubbs

[What a voice]...Have missed hearing songs and voices like this...the Architects of true love and soul. {Lord, place Levi next to the angel Michael, he has earned his place there).

  • Startingly handsome, Levi could sing any song and make it seem like it was for you. What a tragic loss -

  • just ask the lonely...God bless you Levi Stubbs
