Cabrini Green was sitting on a plot of land that the government decided that the wanted to use. That is why they are tearing it down. They never cared about the drugs, gangs, murders, and crimes that went on all those years. Until they decided they wanted to build nice condos and flats there. I always wondered about the housing projects shown at the opening and closing of the show "Good Times". I found your video after searching "Cabrini Green". Although I know the actual show I watched growing up didn't take place in the actual building, I wanted to know more about the place they showed at opening and closing credits. Cabrini Green was sitting on a plot of land that the government decided that the wanted to use. That is why they are tearing it down. They never cared about the drugs, gangs, murders, and crimes that went on all those years. Until they decided they wanted to build nice condos and flats there. This kind of thing happens all the time. They stick all those poor minorities in one place hoping they will kill each other off. Then later they tear that place down and move those people elsewhere.

Damn, I used to live right down the road from here when I was a kid. I remember being driven to school by my folks past Cabrini Green and it was pretty scary now that I think about it. Some "interesting" characters could be seen around there....last tower just got demolished though, recently.
