  • EVERY THING HE JUST SAID WAS EITHER OBVIOUS OR WRONG!!

  • I would of been pretty pissed to be the sun at that moment

  • 0:17 DON'T ASK THAT! YOU'LL JINX US ALL!!!!!!

  • why don't we clog it with something?

    I bet my gramma's lasagna would! :P

  • @hqinawi nahhh, nothing stops a black hole. NOT EVEN CHUCK NORRIS COULD SAVE US

  • @Superdeath25 HOLY CRAP!

there goes my whole belief system!

  • Sam Neill is a great narrator.

  • Sam Niell makes this sound so depressing...

  • How can the black hole head towards Earth. It chooses the planets to consume??

  • @ScienceGeek36 Shit happens.

also ITS THAT DUDE FROM JURASSIC PARK

  • I have one guestion:Is the black hole visible to the human eye?

  • A black hole ey? isn't that where his acting career went?

  • black hole flinging meteors? i thought it sucks crap in

  • 1.14 little bastard!

  • heh heh hee heh heh

  • wait when the black hole sucks up light so when the black hole was riping the sun isnt the light sucked?

  • Aren't blackholes created by blown up stars and have such density that a little stone will wight many thousand tons?

  • Chuck Norris created the Big Bang when he bitch-slapped God with a roundhouse kick...

  • @SkullFinder123 Wouldnt "sparked" be a better verb then "created?

  • well that was kind of a downer.

  • Take care of that motherfucker the American way: NUKE IT!!!!111!!11!11!1111ONE!one!!!!1!

  • @VipericVampire The black hole is like Chuck Norris - it'd look at the nukes like we look at a bag of cheetos. In fact only Chuck could roundhouse that thing back into space :D

  • @shkotay

No, Chuck Norris would swallow it whole. Then, he would shit out another universe.

    Why? Because Chuck Norris can.

  • @VipericVampire Dude thats just epic man :(

  • @VipericVampire TurboDymoMan can this better! Chuck Norris can't!

  • @dx527

    Who the fuck is TurboDymoMan?

  • @VipericVampire Amazing superhero! He can everything 50% better than Chuck Norris and others!

  • @VipericVampire Google it.

  • @VipericVampire TurboDymoMan can everything 50% better than others! God bless TurboDymoMan!!!!

  • Go ahead, devide by zero, see if I care.

  • Sam Neill=EPIC story teller

  • This will sound really nerdy, but... 1:39 'Though tiny in comparison, it consumes our sun." TINY IN COMPARISON!?!?!? That is quite an understatement! The actual black hole is a singularity, an infinitely tiny point in space-time. (Seriously)

  • @OptimusPrime712 You got it spot on :D And it would reduce our sun and entire solar syatem to that point and keep going without a hiccup.

  • Sam Neill is the perfect narrator for this topic.

  • Ok here's the thing about this vid. It is nic therory but tthe black hole would not purposly head toward the sun. it woud move randomly. And also the sun would be twisted out of shape not just fed into the black hole like a slupie.

  • Interestingly Sam Neil played in the sci-fi / horror film “Even Horizon (1997)” about a black hole powered spaceship that flew through hell and came back, similar to the Doom (1993) game story line. I wonder if black holes are his cup of tea?! ;)

  • This is why Sam Neil needs to build a ship that can create artificial black holes which can then take us to another dimension filled with Tyrannosauruses and Velociraptors

  • @comotose762 YOU WON'T FREAKING SURVIVE IN A BLACK HOLE. *School Lesson Alert* If you are ever unlucky enough to be caught by a black hole, your body will begin to disintegrate until nothing is left. You would be dead long before you are sucked up by the black hole, fool!!!!

  • @kardas4210

Wow, what a dumbass. You didn't get the joke! Go watch some of Sam Neil's movies jerk off.

  • @comotose762 ah well. I tried. And another thing: I WAS JUST GOING OFF OF WHAT I KNOW!!! Either be nicer to me, or go jump off a cliff (no real offense).

  • i didnt even know black holes moved.... can they do that?

  • maybe if i got close enough to a black hole

my eyes may pop out.........LIKE SAM NEILL :D

  • and when will this happen exactly??? My friend told me it would happen in something-million years

  • can't wait for that...

unfortunately we will never see such a immense object so close to the earth

    particularly a black hole

  • @AnTr3Y unless you agree with the idea of spaghettification

  • I bought the complete box-set of this series, and now i wish i hadn't, because i'm thinking about this black hole stuff all the time! It scares me!!!

  • I've always wondered what it would be like to be sucked into a black hole.

  • @AURAXMARK I feel so good when any kind of black hole suck me.

  • if a black hole can suck everything in it? Can it take the thickness of my BIG BLACK DICK

  • @Kaylanthedj If your mom can take it.....sure the black hole can take it too.

  • @sia692 my mom didnt take it in fact since she had to give birth to me cuz she had a sesection

  • After his RedMeat series I find myself a bit reluctant to trust this buddy.

  • hey isn't he the guy off the red meat add with the orangutan? lol

  • The field of physics and astronomy redefined 'violence'.

  • earth is about a trillion times more likely to be vanquished by an asteroid, so dont worry bout the holes... unless you are, then go buy a fucking lottery ticket.

  • We are simply the "Fruit of the Earth". Enjoy it why it last boy's.... Cause were going to encounter something in all to soon years to come...

  • Is it true that the black hole litterally sucks things into it. If so where do the things sucked into it go. Or on the other hand does it just grow in size because it gathers things in its powerful gravitational pulls proximity.

  • @jldmasterofanimation There is no such thing as the "inside" of a black hole. Black holes are globs of solid matter. When something gets "sucked into" a black hole it really just crashes into it and becomes a part it.

  • @avp715 you are so ignorant.

  • @avp715

You actually cant be sure of that.

Since you've never seen inside a Black Hole, I say mostly the object entering the Black hole gets torn apart and into mini pieces

  • How depressing.

Although it is only a guess..

    I guess?

  • look at him tryin 2 act cool drinkin a black coffee and speakin in a posh voice

  • wed be dead be4 it even gets to the sun

  • blackhole--OM NOM NOM NOM!!!!

  • Could this be wat the 2012 stuff is about?

  • @florgeysteve Nahh. Besides, if you ask me, I think that 2012 stuff is a load of garbage

  • ive seen this entire movie twice in science class, its really good and is not like all other science movies XP yall should check it out and if any one knows the soundtrack of this movie could you tell me it or somthin cuz it has really awesome music

  • my goodness this is scary stuff.

  • Does anyone know the soundtrack listing for this documentary?

  • Black Holes can occur at any moment at any time. There is no escape. Whose to say that one day our fate won't be in the hands of a Black Hole? Actually Black Holes are stars, suns that have exploded so violently, when they have gone supernova, that they have caused 'rips' in space. These rips eventually turn into Black Holes.

  • Actualy Threre Core Is So massive Nothing can Support It's Weight and it collaspses into a Singularity, The black hole we see is the Event Horizon

  • This contradicts what I was taught in Astronomy. For one, black holes don't travel like comets, or suck up things in its path. Black holes don't really suck things up like a vacuum in general. If you were to cross the Event Horizon, then yes you are screwed. If you don't cross that line then you'll simply orbit the Black Hole.

I was taught if our Sun became a black hole the Earth would continue to orbit it, since the force of gravity would be the same.

  • i gotta agree maybe this is just trying to scare us, i hope! though your opinion sounds more logic than this i think

  • The amount of gravity would increase at a enormous rate, we would get sucked into the black hole and be dead before we get there....without the sun our world turns into an icey abyss.

  • If our sun were to spontaneously collapse into a black hole, then yes, earth would continue to orbit it, but if a rogue black hole were to be shot into our solar system (as in this video), then earth's path would be rocked violently off it's orbit, and when the sun got absorbed by the black hole (maybe after several orbits/close calls, further screwing up orbits), the gravity would be much greater.

Also, a black hole would act exactly like a vaccum if not for centripetal force.

  • well thats nice

  • come on there is gotta be atleast 100 people left how hot is it?

  • nah

  • yah

  • The heat would be beyond our imagination. All life will end long before the Black Hole reaches Earth. This is simply because of the Tidal Waves, Typhoones, and Earthquakes that would be unleashed as the Black Hole enters are solar system swallowing everything in its path. No one and nothing will be left alive on earth. All life will cease. The end.

  • hmm

  • The series when it was televised was very moving and definitely worth buying.

  • tragic

  • i'm scared :S

  • i think it's quite wrong...one thing sure the whole solar system including the sun will begin orbiting around the black hole

  • rok thank u Sam Neill

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but from what I understood from Hawking radiation, in order for a black hole to be destroyed (evaporated)), it must be exposed to higher temperature to the point where the black hole will emit more than it absorb.

  • It is just drama on events when a black hole enters a solar system. It is not only black hole, there is gama ray bursts, magnetars (which would shreds you apart ) , astroids ....etc.

Black holes, if you think it simply are just celestial objects whose matter is so dense that their the gravitional force is extremely strong that you will need speed greater than the speed of light to escape.

  • this is totally unfounded. There is too much we don't know about black holes and the rest of the universe to be able to predict such an event.

It seems to me that it's more likely that the earth would collide with other parts that are thrown around by the black hole.

also this video doesn't consider the different types of black holes that (probably) exist in the universe.

In conclusion: This video is sensational crap.

  • my gf haz black hole

  • why it get hot on earth because of sun comming nearer?

the light get sucked in the hole and willl never get to us

  • I have a few questions...

    1. How does the black hole move from Jupiter to the Sun without consuming Earth in the process?

    2. I learned in school that black holes grow from consuming astronomical objects, such as planets and stars; they don't grow

  • 1. The planets are not in a perfectly straight line. The planets orbit at different speeds and angles around the Sun. At times, Jupiter can be on the opposite side of the Sun to Earth. Remember this is only a dramatisation, and if this were to ever occur, the chances of it actually playing out like this would be very slim.

    2. I have heard this too. The black hole would not grow in dimensions, but would supposedly grow in strength and become a larger gravity well.

  • 1. Hmmm...I see what you're getting at

    2. I just caught a typo I made. On my last sentence I put "grow". I meant to put "move"

  • Movement is relative (according to Einsteins special relativity theory). Viewed from the black hole it doesnt move, viewed from anywhere else in space it probably does move.

  • About growing: When a black hole consumes particles it gains energy, this can be heat, spin, but it can also be mass since mass is energy (E=mc²). Due to the concept of constant energy, the black hole must grow in mass of gain non-mass energy. This means it can grow. A black hole can also shrink according to the Hawkings theory. A black hole radiates energy (Hawkings radiation) and therefore loses energy, keeping in mind that mass is also energy. This means it can shrink.

  • I totally understand your second comment about growing and shrinking, it just seems obvious to me

But I'm having trouble understanding how the black hole can move.

  • something doesn't move or stand still on it's own, it moves or stands still depending on the viewpoint. Illustration: Person A is standing still on the earth. If you (the viewer) are standing next to him, person A does indeed stand still. If you are watching from the sun, person A will be moving at a rate of 800 km/h. there is no "absolute" way of telling whether person A stands still, or whether he's moving. It's all relative. the same is true for black holes or any other object.

  • but doesn't this relate to the time ? I mean, celestial objects with higher densities a clock ticks very slow, but for a black hole the time runs too slow to the point where a viewer in a black hole will think it doesn't move but a viewer outside will probably see it moving. May be I over stretching things a bit

  • it does indeed relate to time. I could be wrong, but I think you are confusing mass en speed effects in the relativity theory. when you observe a fast object (almost lightspeed) more time will pass by for you than for the object(so the clock on the object ticks slower). Are you confusing with this? If not please explain further, I'm only familiar with the special relativity theory. I haven't studied the general one thoroughly.

However it's great to see the interest here.

  • I was refering to the gravitional time dilation

  • If black holes absorb mass and energy, than why does it not absorb its own emitted radiations?

  • "its own emitted radiations" is one of the biggest problem of astrophysics

  • @sharpk1ll3r

They grow in dimension. The more mass they have the bigger they are. Thats how the supermassive ones created.

  • @sharpk1ll3r while "feeding" on planets or stars, the black holes don't grow, since a black hole is incredebly tiny by itself, but they can't take everything it at once, so the mather spins around the black hole at incredible speeds, making everything heat up in the progress, the more it has to feed on, the longer it will take before all the hot gas is consumed so to longer it will appear bigger than it actualy is.

  • @sharpk1ll3r

Black holes do grow into "super massive" black holes, like the one in the center of our galaxy. That's what keeps our galaxy together.

  • @sharpk1ll3r the event horizon will grow in diameter too

  • OM NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

  • yeah...........thts quite scary

  • am i the only person tht says earth like "erth"? everyone else seems to say it like "urth" lol

  • SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

  • as long as im already dead when this happens, im fine with it

  • Black holes arenot as they appear in this video (spinning around yellow things), they are so dense that no light what-so-ever can escape therefore making them quite hard to locate.

Scientists say that there is a black hold in the middle of the milky way (our galaxy) but it is so far away from us that we do not need to worry about it for now.

This is just making you feel scared about black holes.

  • in our galaxy is a so called super massive black hole.

there are many many other black holes in our galaxy, the remainings of old giant stars.

and of course there is a spinning gas disc arround a BH, since we can actually see this gas disc.

But you can't see the BH itself.

That's a difference, the matter in the grp of a BH can be spooted until it is gone over the Point of no return or 'schwarzschild'

    bye

  • it's the accretion disc

  • this is dumb!!!!

ppl dont kno wat is gonna happen in tha fucher

  • omg! its mister dinosaur! OMGEH!

  • I hate things or ppl that is saying '' ahh that year like 2012 the earth is gonna destroy'' or ''2050 the ppl on earth is all gonna die becouse of global warming''

  • i know cuz if y2k didnt happen then why should we believe in thiis shit

  • haha yeah, the also said the earth was gonna end in 1996, and in 1966

  • yepp

  • humans lose, terminators lose, black hole wins

  • Excellent narrator, never heard him narrate before!! Especially for space.

  • If this rly happens in the future

i hope im not one of the billions of people on earth to witness these chaotic Endings called

    The Apocalypse

  • Help us Jebus!

  • wow the ending is really depressing......

  • Its called video recycling. It's how 99% of all documentaries are done now.

  • Never mind. I thought you said the editing. hah!

  • The Holy Bible is written by the hands of peoples but The people who wrote the words had a vision that god is telling them to write the words god said to them so for anyone who Doesn't believe in God or Jesus will be thrown to The lake of fire

  • i am a christian myself but i have my doubts on some things that were written in the bible, for example david and goliath is out of place, did you know goliath actually wore armor from the time that the bible was written instead of the time he was living in? not saying I am an atheist but the bible shouldn't be seen as the complete truth.

  • I'm atheist. I will not argue about Christianity but well... a thought I had: The Bible was written, trying to explain our existence... or something like that, and so does science... but science learns and doesn't stick with an opinion if its disproved. bible... stays pretty much the same and is stubborn-> doesnt want to learn. if that made any sense. bye. peace.

  • ( That was a reply to DIngO12121212 and Xmyxemoxlifex )

  • please, you do know that this story has been told verbally from man to man, things get changed as people tell it further to each other untill someone writes it down. Yes maybe god told one person, and that person told the story to another guy, but who knows how many times people fucked up in telling the story further.

  • nice

  • ^^ bye earth, good fight

  • I know how to stop the Black Hole... Just print billions... no, ummm, Trillions of American Taxpayer dollars into it until it crashes.

  • haha nice

  • No it would melt because it didnt swallow the sun, Listen carefully... "it drags the sun with it" ITs not a fake video its a documentary and if you listened at the very start sam neil says" it doesnt seem quiet so unlikely and clearly states that if we ever are unlucky enough " even the title says it all. If you can do better post a video up.

  • He gets an A+ for melodrama but a D for realism. The chance of a rogue black hole to appear even in our remote vincinity, then to gobble up jupiter, *then* bullseye the Sun, and *then* come back to pay a visit to the planet Earth is... very small. Very.

  • ok got an idea to kill black hole - NASA must send atomic bombs to black hole and the black hole will eat the atomic bomb and then some secounds later.... BOMB!! black holes gone!

  • except those atomic bombs become their component particles long before the even reach the centre of the black hole.

  • bullshit propaganda and fearmongers spreading negative alternative realities to visualize and attract

    fuck this

  • Jesus will save us I know!

  • keep beliving that you fukin retard

  • sorry GMaster5000 you missed the joke train.

  • Jesus? Hell U must B joking...

I mean, if anybody believes in God or Jesus, okay, but the holy Bible is written by human hands so I really don't think that Jesus could save us from a Supernova or a Black hole...

  • Yes I am joking. Sigh. Anyone get sarcasm on this site?

  • yeas, it seemed that U have been sarcasm...

  • you will never know.

but hope is all human have.

  • jesus will help us xD hahaa the total bullshet

  • what the f!!
