@notjustadog I don't think any creature have souls. They learn to trust you and feel comfortable in your presence. They will also stick with you because you give them Food,Shelter,Water,Care.

Sometimes at a young age, puppies want to stick with their mother. If the puppies are adopted by a person. The puppy will start to think that the person is the puppies mother. As he or she raised him. There is unfortunately not a shred of evidence for a soul. But there is evidence for a brain which is connected to everything in your body.
