A few things

1. Coheed and Cambria, the song was a bit messed up. Maybe to avoid copywrite?

2. Im pretty sure you used Optical flares so that the base of the particulant is blurred out.

3. That was neat how the light grew, then dispurced as the particulant became extinguished.

did u make this in 6.5? cause it REALLY looks like u used the "twitch" plug-in from Andrew Kramer, and his optical flares pack. also, the smoke on the end from his "action essencials" pack. i say this cuz the flare doesn't look from a natural light as you stated. the the smoke definetly wasn't made using particular. nevertheless, excellent work.

@krip2nite918 Flares made using Knoll Light Factory, early versions. The smoke is NOT from action essentials, but neither was it made in Particular. But it is footage, you can load it into 6.5. And yes, natural light was used to fill the stage right side of the face. But not the flare, it's not possible to get those sweet anamorphic flares on a shitty sony camcorder :D

@felicityeufy This was not made when ANY of the CS3,4 or 5 were out. This was made using After effects 6.5, when the motion tracking just got added, and made on Windows 2000 :) ANything is possible.

@felicityeufy Well, I was learning at that time, so I got it through illegal means. My studio now runs on licensed CS5 copies. You can't get 6.5 anymore, unless you have a delorean driven by Michael J. Fox and can time travel :)

@ReVPr0 Sorry mate, I think you don't think you understand the function of frame blending. It attempts to interpolate frames when any time remapping functions are being used with a particular footage - because when you do things like slow down a footage, what originally appeared as a single frame is now taking up more timespace, causing jittering. And since my footage is unmodified in any way from its original progressive 25fps form, that function is absolutely useless here.

@Cantjeuh Well, no...the flickering is done in post. What I did on set was to have a table lamp pointed to the side of my face and I had someone turn it on and off at the right times. Plus, this high contrast lighting style allows for the flickering to look full of depth and not flat if the lighting was also flat.

@Cantjeuh Thanks! Flares were done with the Knoll Light Factory plug-in, which I really like. The overall light is coming from sunlight from outside the room, coming in through the door :)
