I don't know if there's sugar in Turkish tea; for instance, it's frowned upon to put sugar in Japanese tea. Not all teapots look like how this one does. At home we just use the microwave to heat up water; in some cases, the kettle. Cultures are different, ma'am.

Basically you boil the water first,then pour it to the upper tea pot.
Then you fill the lower tea pot with cold water and wait until it boils again.
Meanwhile tea lets off itself and infuses.
That gives you the answer for the question "Why its not dark ? It supposed to be dark".
Then you are ready to drink it.
