No, they're both SGs who want tons of minutes. Look at it like this: what is Evans' best ability? Finishing at the rim/scoring right?. Both of them are at their best when lookin for their shot, getting points for their team. Like I said, he can create for others, but why have two shooting guards on the floor at the same time, and why let Ty waste his best ability trying to be a distributor, when he needs to do what he does best? Evans has youth and combo guard skill, which is why K-Mart is gone
@PeediSigel Can't really argue with that cause you're right. Why have 2 ball-dominant players that want to score? That's why Wall/Arenas didn't workout. I don't get why they traded Martin to Houston, then. Wasn't Aaron Brooks the same thing but without the size?
@clutchcity25 Sacramento needed that frontcourt presence in Landry, and in Houston's case, with the exception of McGrady, (whom they wanted to move anyways) they didn't have a SG. Courtney was still in NJ, so they needed a SG that can score, and shoot from distance. Brooks was to be their PG of the foreseeable future, kinda like how Milwaukee views BJ (same breed of pg). But Brooks is only 5'11, too small to play the 2, so he's in the same boat as Nate Robinson, the "scoring PG" breed.
@PeediSigel That being said, I don't get why they drafted Tyreke, talking about Sacramento. If they don't want him to play PG, then why is he there? He needs the ball in his hands to be effective and he can't shoot it well, so he can't play the 2. He played the 2-spot with Beno Udrih last year and it didn't work out. My understanding was that Evans+Martin were the 1+2 of the future. .
@clutchcity25 because he's a SG akin to Flash, and the Black Mamba. From what I see, they're trying to acquire a PG that can play off the ball, and run an offense.
@clutchcity25 I think he's akin 2 D-Wade, Stephen Jackson, in that he's a SG that can create for others. Same situation for Russell Westbrook. he's originally a SG, he can just create for others, yet he doesn't do the best job running a half'-court offense, everyone notices the difference when Eric Maynor's at the 1, he runs the offense much better. And the same deal for Ty, Beno runs that half-court offense much better, among the proof is his better assist-to-turnover ratio.
@MrIamabitch no shit im talkin about the nba on the season opener rtockets vs warriors monta ellis had 46 points and 32 of those he dropped on kevin martin
@reggiemillerapimp i didint say that he is not better i said both of there defence are good but you got to admit he is very good at stealing the ball.
@MrIamabitch i agree kevin martin is a great stealer and is one of the best in the league at drawing the foul and a super high free throw percentage im just saying for his size he is very under weight just like reggie miller
@MrIamabitch yup but there were may good players in the 90s that were overshadowed by micheal jordan and the bulls and the 90s had better centers than today
@MrIamabitch yup but there were many good players in the 90s that were overshadowed by micheal jordan and the bulls and the 90s had better centers than today
those who say "you don't need defense if you're a great offensive player" knows nothing about basketball. in the nba, you HAVE to have defense to become a great player. yes martin is a good player but is not a great one, if you can drop 30 pts but allow your opponent to drop 30 pts also, youre not doing much to get your team ahead. like many greats say, "offense wins game, defense wins championships."
@narutoxgamester he said "you HAVE to have defense to become a great player." and i doubt that anyone said that Carmelo, Steve Nash, Amare is a horrible player.
@trickpanda the nba came out with new jerseys for all teams, they are lighter and absorb sweat faster and dry quicker. If you look closely you will see some lines or dots in the front, and the Rockets also changed the numbers font.
he looks like drake

You know what? You're right?
So you think if Sac would have kept him, a Tyreke-K-Mart backcourt wouldn't have worked?

hahahah vs Denver he drew 2 charges had great pressure defence on afflalo and smith so he is a good defender dick heads.
