  • Man the real conscious black man knows the truth, these brothers debating against Dr Walter Williams know damn well whats going, they on that gov payroll so they will try there best to curve the argument man the gov, doesn't give a fuck about nobody but people with money bottom line get your business skills up and find you a market and find the competitive edge and try to start doing for self we allow all of this shit because we have put most of the work in for keeping up the agenda. Hotep

  • Another problem with minimum wage? Bye bye manufacturing jobs... Hope you like your new home in China and Mexico...

  • It's funny how it takes 2 liberals to argue against a conservative.

  • Rangel is a tool

  • The discussion was great, but I really think that the moderator here was fantastic.

  • How is it we live in a world where rangle and this anderson guy are taken seriously you might wonder... Well I have the answer for you.. Share this with your intelligent friends..

At any given time exactly 1/2 of the world is of below average intelligence.

If you're not sure which side you're on, well.....

  • Wow, not sure if intentionally done this way, but Rangel seems to finish each video with the most preposterous statements.

  • @RonDukeSilverSwanson I was just thinking the exact same thing! HA!

  • I doubt Williams ever read any history book other than economic history.

Go read Williams embarrassingly stupid argument aginst Global Warming.

  • @MsZeitgeist85 You know Williams is a economist and not a weatherman. Even IF he is (lets say he is) how does that invalidate anything he says in this series?

  • @MsZeitgeist85

Not you again. Fuck you fail everywhere you go don't you?

  • Why aren't there any debates on TV likes this anymore? Am I just not watching the right channels?

  • @averagehomosapien [Am I just not watching the right channels? ]

Nope. These debates do not exists any more. We are now a nation of soundbites -- usually at high decibels.

I recently watched the JFK/Nixon debates and was stunned at the quality of the debate v. the last few presidential elections.

  • @danL1011 Yeah, except that JFK lied his ass off in that debate.

  • Why do people think we can simply legislate racism out of existence? Racism seems to me something that disappears over time through raising social awareness, not by brute government force.

  • According to charles rangle the slavery system was :" People who were WILLING to pick cotton in return for food and shelter"?!?! Is he seriously arguing that black slavery in America was a VOLUNTARY situation?!?!?! Wow...

  • Fallacy alert at 1:50, "Create metaphors that support your view", and it really is not a good metaphor.

Fallacy at 7:50 "Throw in some statistics.

Rangle is over the top comparing Dr. Williams argument to slavery. I love the straw man fallacy 9:09.

  • @cheese1010100 lol at the moderator's response to his "statistics" at 7:50... "and your point is what?"

  • This is the most prime example of why Sociology and Politics are the most crappiest intellectual fields to be a part of.Facts and logic are a strange language to these disciplines.

BTW,the moderator is smart ,collective ,and hot. Nowadays the focus is only on the last part.

  • Rangel - morally and mentally corrupt ... Harlem's finest!

  • George Mason University doesn't deserve a professor like Williams. He deserves to be teaching economics at schools like Harvard, University of Chicago, NYU, and the like

  • That moderator seems incredibly intelligent and fair... Where is she now? We could use her. You could tell she actually read the book by her comments.

And also, Dr. Williams beat the hell out of these guys.

  • Hahahaha! What a delight to see these two morons (Rangel and "the professor") being brought to excited, emotional arguing due to their defenselessness before Dr. Williams' perfectly rational, thoroughly researched, and well documented arguments... This was in the 80's... go look at where each of these people are at today...

  • "Alright thats enough, fool"

  • People are writing regarding this video that was shot in the 80s. Welfare has been drastically changed since then and the exodusing of manufacturing jobs has progressed much further. It is as though people's mentality is trapped in the 80s as though Dr. Williams was relevant then. Sadly these ideas are less relevant now. A prime example of this is the bush years. Have MOST Americans benefited from those tax reductions [everyone knows] went to the wealthy? Just a question.

  • @DaudMusa Sigh. This whole video wasn't about taxes, it was about minimum wage and welfare. Are you going to even TRY and argue that minimum wage isn't much higher than it was or that the welfare state isn't significantly larger than it was? In reality, Dr William's ideas are MUCH more important and relevant now, more than they were even when this video was made. If you believe the Bush administration's policies echoed Williams' ideas in practice, you are sadly mistaken.

  • @DaudMusa - Efforts to drive up wages through unions and minimum wage laws have played an important role in the exodus of manufacturing jobs. American companies can no longer compete with foreign nations. Nothing has been done to remove the government barriers that prevent the average person from competing with established business. Government regulations are designed by special interest groups to keep those groups in power.

  • @muridsilat unions at caterpillar inc where i used to work would bi*** about machines being brought in to replace what workers used to do. i thought well you force employers through collective bargaining to pay you 60k a year for turning a wrench on some nuts and wonder why businesses find it more more advantageous to replace you with a machine that won't go on strike or cost pension plans etc. i'm an engineer, we aren't unionized anywhere and get paid well too. why? because we create value

  • Comment removed

  • God, I want to punch that politician in the face. What a prick.

  • @JohnBreadForger Rejoice, he is now under investigation and will likely be kicked from Congress, or censured at the least.

  • Leave it to Rangel to wrap an ad hominem up inside of a non sequitur.

  • Dr. Williams is doing a fantastic job, not letting them get lies through unchecked in this video. He is staying right up there with them and is doing GREAT.

  • Yes, there has been a deterioration BECAUSE of the minimum wages! This man is so rich! lol

  • ROFL - Dr. Anderson is almost as good at completely IGNORING facts and figures as Rangel.

  • Look at Charlie Rangel--the man who owes the U.S. Government in taxes to this day. As if he can tell anyone about right and wrong.

  • @CRMChicago who the hell keeps voting for him??!? can we please send these videos to whoever campaigns against him?

  • @jfk1976 Dude i work in the area of his voters, if you saw it you would know why

  • Superbowl analogy--idiotic.

An additional reason the minimum wage laws are harmful to African -Americans is that they basically guarantee illegal immigration from people who because of their status will take away the work which can be offered legally to those at the bottom of American economy. That's why we have this phenomenon to begin with.

  • @franceseattle dude i've made the same argument and people don't want to hear it. Illegal immigrants are free from the burdens of govt legallity

  • The senator uses the fallacies of weak analogy (about the Superbowl), red herring and ad hominem abusive and circumstantial when he states at the end of part 3 that Williams doesn't even believe his own"extraordinary bizarre" positions but is using it to make money, thus insinuating that we shouldn't take him seriously.

  • the statement about the superbowl was pointless and is in no way relevant @ 2:00

  • Folks like Rangel always base their arguments on the notion that they know best; i.e. that they know best when it comes to how much people should get for their goods and services. The economist for the Rockefeller Institute is misleading about the facts, good of Williams to point that out, and vague. They haven't rebutted Williams' SE-Asia Chinese point, haven't addressed his point about West Indian immigrants, and in general only seem to be focused on misrepresentation and rhetorical flash..

  • I like this

  • thanks for part 4...
