i'm watching this because of Kristin Kreuk.. hope i can watch all her movies.. already done watching Snow White and Eurotrip.. Kristin Kreuk is such a great actress..
East India Trading Co. was a presence in India in the first decade of
the 1600s.. my ancestral relation (Portuguese) was born in India, in the late 1700s, an apothecary for the British Army, just as his father was before him. The Army had consolidated British rule in east India (Bengal & neighbouring states)by then..probably since around the mid-1700s. But it took another 100 yrs to expand..So I guess the opening is correct to say 350 years of British presence.
I cannot believe that I have come across this film on here.. I've been looking everywhere to watch it and now I can finally watch it.Thankyou so much for the upload:)
I have heard 200 or 250 years of british rule - you could say that for bengal but not for the whole of india, whole of india officially was 90 years, unofficially 99 years, 1848 the brits took full control of india and in 1857, officially part of the empire
India was effectively ruled by the British for 90 years. It became a major power in India after 1818 by defeating the Maratha Empire. So I don't know where the director of this movie got 350 years. Death to the weak minded communist historians. Jai Hind (Global Power today, Superpower tomorrow)

TO ALL KRISTIN FANS: A hot cast of young Western stars has joined Vampire, the English-language debut of Japanese director Iwai. On board the film, which started shooting in Vancouver last week, are Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Adelaide Clemens (X-Men: Origins) and Trevor Morgan (Mean Creek). Previously announced cast includes Kevin Zegers, Amanda Plummer and Japanese star Yu Aoi..
@RasMajnouni: You have a right to disagree. Good that you liked this movie. Good for you.
This movie has a lot of western influence. The hero of the movie cannot even speak 5 words of punjabi correctly. He seems that like a lost moron throughout. There are many cultural flaws in the movie. I do not think that many indians would appreciate this movie.
@desisher16 / I understand that it is full of generalizations throughout. Even if it was a made for television movie of 1 hour each week for 52 weeks a year, over 7 years, it would be a generalization. In a book a great writer may be able in many pages to get some points accross.. In a 80 minute movie, you can only show the kernal of the idea.
@desisher16 /I would not make a political judgement about Kashmir in my life.I live in Israel.A few movies have been madelike this which never showthe Arab side or the Israel side. They always have a woman American reporter who comes in to "find the truth".The truth cannot be related on film.I look on this strictly as a love relation film(though how he a Sikh could marry a Moslem in ceremony was not discussed!!
What a shame this movie isn't very known. This is one of the only ones that made me cry. The story is beautiful, the script too and the actors are wonderful !! And of course, there's Kris which is one of the reason why I watched the movie !! But really, take a look, it's beautiful ^^
Fuck you, you want there to be a confilct & conspiracies just so you can have a reason to hate.
Jarnail singh bitchinwally fucked us, he aloud for Harmandir Sahib to become a battlefield, why not just take all the weapons to a empty building and fight from there. Sikhs are ment to protect others, he was protecting his own ass the extermist fuck.
Not to mention the buses and other sikh groups that spoke against him that got bombed. And his followers carried on his work with flight 182.
Dickhead, There is no such documentary, its u making shit up again, you would wish for that to be true, the Kalistani terrorists involved pleaded guitly.
Khalsa NOT kalistan
you just want there to be something against hindus and the government so your making shit up like most teenage gullible sikhs.

@dewan357 - he got that number, primarily, from beginning of British influence to the end of it.

I really wanted to see this movie.
But this movie really disappointed me.
The direction is really weak, the casting is incorrect, there are so many errors in cultural set-up.
The storyline was really good, but then directors and actors succeeded in massacaring the movie.
Indian censor did a good job of not letting this "C" grade movie come to India. I am sure pakis would have done the same :-)
Dreams shattered!
Friends, don't waste time on this one!

@RasMajnouni : and this movie misses the kernel. It stays at least 10 kilometers away from the main issue.
Secondly, as I said earlier, you do not belong to Indian subcontinent, you do not know a lot of things. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. Enjoy!

gujit81 - you are right.
Bhindrawala used to be a saint...
But he and indira gandhi wanted to lock horns and rule Punjab...
Both of them inflicted huge losses on punjabis (both hindus or sikhs)
Glad, both of them had a dreadful end!
