The thai saw that Chong's tech was poor and just wanted him out of his face from the get go. Problem is, what Chong lacks in skills, he makes up for in scrappiness. He survived all the abuse and made a comeback (of sorts) in the last two rounds. Gotta give his respect for hanging in there. Still, the draw was a joke. Thai was clearly the winner.
The thai fighter was resorting to judo tactics, this is a muay thai fight, not a real fight. muay thai matches, u follow the muay thai rules. He probably got points deducted for using other martial moves. Also his punches weren't clean, and he was flipping the chinese guy on his back. Real fight, thai won, period. Muay thai fight, that guy didnt follow the rules, and he got away with a draw, not a disqualification or a lost, i consider the thai fight lucky
Dude you obviously don't know Muay Thai. I live and train here in Phuket and the Thai clinch is a big part of the sport. You earn points if your able to dump your opponent.
as a sign of your ignorance i'll quote the muay thai rule:
"Points will be awarded for a correct Thai Boxing style, combined with hard and accurate strikes.
Points will be awarded for aggressive and dominating Muay Thai skill.
Points will be awarded for a fighter actively dominating his opponent. Points will be awarded for the use of a traditional Thai style of defense and counter-attack."
fouls:
"18.2. Wrestling, back or arm locks or any similar judo or wrestling hold."
Points are awarded when you dump your opponent but it is a foul when you dump them using most wrestling and or Judo technique's. Throws, sweeps, and other take downs in Muay thai are entirely different from Judo, wrestling, etc. Come here to Thailand and learn the rules and you'll see that you are the ignorant one.
Muay Thai = Thai boxing... It's Thailand's national sport. For a Muay thai fighter that wants to fight the best, they must come here to Thailand. Here if you don't know how to fight in the clinch you usually loose. You obviously don't train or maybe you have a hard-on for your boy Bill.
China judging, especially China judging, is notorious for giving their country fighters the decision win if it goes the distance, no matter how obvious it is that their guy didn't win. The ref even steps in at times just to give their fighter a break if he's taking a beating.
Look up the Muay Thai vs. Sanshou fights and you'll see what I mean.
BS. The Thai won that fight. What do you expect when you have a Chinese fighter at a Hong Kong event. Sick and tired of the bullshit biased judging they're notorious for.
Bill Chong's my boy, this guy can fight

you know how good the thai is.
And for hk to produce a fighter to hang in with a thai is impressive.
This thai could go to any country and KO the country's top fighter
