The gameplay is a fast paced RTS, there is minimal base building- it's far more combat orientated, Dawn of War 1 however, does have base building- I suggest you get either though, they are both great games- DoW I is a bit more normal for an RTS though- DOW II is almost like an RPG in places.

so there. warhammer 40k isn't a game franchise only, no thats just one of the things its being lived out as. with a huge novel library, giant communty still playing the minitures game, and the success of the dawn of war seris, Warhammer 40k is much larger and older than many people would care to beileve. in reality Warhammer 40k's universe predates Starcrafts by nearly a decade and was first to come up with many of the popular themes for the races that inhabit that universe.
