Yes, that's Bob Dunn. The tall dude at the back is Moon Mullican, holding a banjo for some reason. I guess holding a piano would have been too much. This band was full of fabulous musicians. They were the best.
Thanks for the response; I thought that was Bob. Is that pic from the Bruner Bear Family box? My copy is packed away and I can't take a quick look. I don't think I have ever seen that pic. Dunn was a genius. A 2 CD set of his work is imminent.
I've been studying music history for a long time and recognized the name but hadn't heard him. Good quality sound, too!
Now that we're back in Texas, I'm really looking more into local styles and how they developed; someone once said that Texas fiddle is the closest American style to Irish.
Could sombody please post "Stardust" by Cliff Bruner. I have a beat-up old 78 and it's tough listening but I love the recording.

Yes it was at La Grange Texas about 10-12 years ago. River Road Boys backed them. I love them ol' boys for what they did for our music!

This is great! Love this song, too. How nice that they're not duded up in fake cowboy outfits.

Thanks for the comments marykmusic. Yes, a great song. Bob Wills also did a good version, and so did Phil Harris. Stay tuned, more on the way.
Best wishes
