  • I hiked this summer and it was amazing! The cables are a little intimidating, but really not that bad if you take your time. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves to hike and isn't afraid of heights. I carried a good sized daypack and the only things i used were water and a sack lunch at the top. Just prepare yourself physically, I recommend a stairmaster and a chinup bar. Be safe and enjoy

  • @idahoforsale: you won't need a rope, just use the cables whether up or down. Any decent size pack would work, same gear you would use for any other day hike. I would recommend a harness, some runners, and biners. Most people don't use them, but if you are on the cables and it starts raining, this equipment will save your life. It will be the difference between a painful fall and a deadly one.

  • Couldn't you use an ascender?

  • What kind of pack and gear you recomend? Is this for novice hikers even with the cables up. I see lots of rescue stories. How much rope should we take? Is there worse spots on the trail up that are as perilus? Day hike? You guys rock and roll.

  • Holy HELL!!!

  • no way I would do that. Scary enough with the cables.

  • can't believe noone has commented... amazing feat!
